You know what Luffy needs to gain before the end of the series: Some type of facial hair. He needs either a mustache or a goatee/beard. If he wants to be a Pirate King that is equal/greater than Roger, then, he needs some facial hair. :ninja:

No spoilers this week?
Anyway, I hope they show the sunny team in this coming chapter. They'll happen when they happen - people who provide spoilers have lives outside of doing only that - also the people who supply us with the spoilers have lives - also not sure if we're supposed to discuss the timeframe of spoilers or not.

Nah I don't think there will be another time skip, but I don't think Luffy will be able to defeat Kaidou on his first go.
So he just gonna be like, yo kaido mate, ma nigga, you're far too strong. Let me go rest and train and come back and kill you off.
Yeah riiiiiight

I think Luffy will defeat one emperor, two of them max. Others will be taken out by marines or other pirates or maybe not at all.
This Yonkou status quo situation might come to an end soon and then the NW will be in real chaos, with numerous pirates and nations trying to take more territory while marines are expanding their influence. Maybe that's the chaos everyone is so afraid of.
Luffy specifically states when Law and him are discussing the alliance that he wishes to defeat them all, so I see this as what is going to happen, not that the others are going to be taken out.
Depends on what you term first go.
Technically he defeated Moriah on his first go since it took place in 1 night so roughly 12 hours. Crocodile was defeated without him leaving Alabasta(not sure on the time but it wouldn't be more than 2 days). Enel was smacked down within a Day of Luffy being knocked up into the sky. Lucci was defeated within a 24 hours of their first fight. Luffy went up against 3 Admirals and entire fleet of Marines and Hawkeyes less than a day after being poisoned to near death and still only failed because his mind snapped when Ace died.
When he fights a Yonkou it will be similar to all of his fights he has had so far - if he gets knocked down he gets up till he wins and all happens in around 1 day. Even if it takes up 1-3 years to see that day.
Yeah I agree, but I think some of his fights will possibly be like Crocodile (pure speculation here), in that he will get defeated but will come back and defeat them 2nd or 3rd fight. I just can't see him winning after he first encounters a Yonkou, I mean defeating Doflamingo is one thing, but seeing as Doflamingo is shit scared of Kaidou, surely for Luffy to defeat Kaidou hes going to have a very very difficult time.

In paradise, Moria was strong, in the New World he was massacred.
/QUOTE] Correction. Moriah was strong in the New World. His crew, from what we know, was not. Kaidou was strong in the New World; his crew was also strong in the New World. According to the Word of God in the dialogue of fodders during Thriller Bark, Moriah was, at one time, capable of fighting Kaidou at equal; Moriah's crew, however, was curb stomped by Kaidou's far superior crew. I might be wrong, as information seems to get extremely twisted as it moves from person to person in the One Piece world, but this is how I interpreted Moriah's failed venture into the New World. -

Of course he is - although the sheer deliciousness of him 1 punch KO a Yonkou like Kaidou who was just a rich dude paying strong people to keep him safe would be too awesome for words.
But that aside - A Yonkou isn't going to let him off to regroup, heal up or eat some meat. When Luffy has made it through his protection crew to him that fight is sealed - heck the rest of the crew will be tied up holding back any of that Yonkou's crew from coming to their leaders assistance. These fights will be on a different level - Like Kenshin vs Shishio style. -
Luffy specifically states when Law and him are discussing the alliance that he wishes to defeat them all, so I see this as what is going to happen, not that the others are going to be taken out.
Just because Luffy wants to do it, doesn't mean it will happen. Besides, it would mean nobody else is doing shit in New World. And situation in New World is too complex for something like that to happen.
Anyway, I'd consider it a bad writing. I thought Oda built his world in such detail partly to make it different from all the other works that have protagonists defeat each and every important antagonist that appears in the story. -

Crocodile had a not bad showing at Marineford, but had Sakazuki attacked him instead of Curiel, he also would have been toast. Like 99% of the population would have been. There's no reason to infer either character's strength or possble equality from that incident.
Yeah, Lucci is strong. Still doesn't mean he's the level of a yonko commander. In paradise, Moria was strong, in the New World he was massacred. Just because Lucci was considered enough to take on Luffy at that time means nothing in regards to yonko commanders, some of the strongest fighters in The New World.
I'm estimating them as well as I can, and to me it's quite obvious that neither of those characters are on the level of a yonko commander, pre-timeskip anyway.
Well, if its just your feeling I can't really argue against it. I get what your saying, I just don't agree.

However he was still a very very strong opponent in the first half of the grand line for Luffy.

Yeah, I get what you're saying as well.
If Crocodile and Lucci were to suddenly appear back in the story I wouldn't give a crap how weak or whatever they are, they're both excellent characters lol.

I thought Oda built his world in such detail partly to make it different form all the other works that have protagonists defeat each and every important antagonist that appears in the story.Luffy aims to be the strongest (Pirate King), so the way to be the strongest is to defeat the strongest, so of course it makes sense that Luffy defeats all the Yonkou. He's going to defeat Kaidou, he wants to fight Shanks when hes a "great pirate and has made a name for himself" (if Shanks hasn't been killed by Blackbeard), he's got beef with Big Mom, and obviously hes going to defeat Blackbeard seeing as hes the final antagonist. So all in all it works out that Luffy will defeat them all
-
The STRONG written in bold letters makes franky's arm even stronger, he will definitely win.
-
Fujitora probably went out to buy some Dressrosa ramen, since he wasn't shown in chapter 733.
I wonder if he went back to the coliseum to watch the finals too, while eating ramen. -

Well for me it would be a pretty boring story. I mean after reading what seemed like a world that exists and changes even without the influence of main characters.
I think Luffy will beat either Kaido or Big Mom, and Blackbeard. Shanks is his friend, and it's safe to assume they will never have a real fight with everything on the line. More like a friendly fight to see if Luffy managed to surpass him. That is if someone doesn't take out Shanks before that. The possibilities are really endless. What if Kid alliance takes over Big Mom's territory and they split it threeways? Or if Kid betrays his partners and just takes over her place. He'd become the next emperor.

I'd think it was pretty cool if Kidd went after Shanks. Luffy's reaction might be interesting.

Since the Marine Admirals can hold their own against a Yonkou, are you saying that Luffy and Zoro are ready to fight a Yonkou? Because they are clearly not ready, needing an alliance and only having a 30% chance to defeat Kaidou even though they are in an alliance. It just goes against logic to think that Luffy and Zoro could be capable against fighting an admiral and to "do well" as you put it, but its been stated that Luffy wouldn't have a chance against a Yonkou currently, and most likely will have great difficulty in defeating in Doflamingo. So if Luffy will have a hard time defeating Doflamingo (who by the way I think is definitely below Admiral level), how the hell would they be able to compete with an admiral?
You tell me.
If on his own he ll be able to defeat Doflamingo than I believe he can stand up against an admiral. Like I said does not mean he can win, but can fight him properly.
-
If DD defeated Jozu
Then Zorro defeated also Fujitora…
DD stopped jozu not defeated him, like Zorros slash pushed fujitora away, why people assume he defeated jozu?
-
Yeah and Croc stopped Mihawk^^ Croc = Mihawk confirmed
-
I think Luffy will defeat all the Yonko, but not without help for the first two. I expect him to have difficulties against Kaido, so will defeat him with Laws help, then he will defeat Big Mom with much difficulty, but alone. And later he will defeat Blackbeard who will have killed Shanks. Thus becoming the Pirate King :D
But that is just my prediction, I hope Oda will surprise us! -
Do you any you think that DD will make Luffy seriously mad by dirtytalking ace or sthm? Or saying stuff like "You couldn't even save your brother, do you think you can save your crew" or stuff.
Or he will try to break luffy morally and luffy will be like

Mr.1 Blocked mihawks attack.
Therefore Mr.1 = mihawk.
Croco will be his boss. -
Luffy will be lucky enough, If he gets to fight two Yonkous (Kaido and Blackbeard), this is no Naruto nor Bleach that their main characters fight every single boss, this world has way too many important characters for the Strawhats to be the super duper shit.

Yeap, that will be his reaction.

-
regarding this arc, my guess is that their attack will fail.
There are far too many characters to end this arc with one attack. -

There are far too many characters to end this arc with one attack.Their attack on Kaidou or on Doflamingo?
Dude Doflamingo has to go down in this arc realistically… I mean the dwarves are coming out to help the StrawHats, who knows if Law's crew will come to help, all the toys that will transform after Sugar goes down will help the Straw Hat crew not to mention Sabo and potentially the Revolutionary army.. It just looks like all these individuals working together will make 'Flamingo and his crew go down this arc.But who knows the CPO have yet to be introduced to do anything and they wouldn't be on the island if they weren't up to anything and who knows what Fujitora will do(But I suspect that he will not help Doflamingo)

I disagree mate, in the first part of the grand line, the only crew who fucked with the shicibukais were the sh's
I personally would love it more if luffy faught all 4 yonkous, as much as I realize it be better story telling if it wasn't so. As a fan i prefer the poor story telling then :)
-
what if two yonkou team up?

That's because it was the first half, the Strawhats were unknown to the world and the only way to become a 'light' was to fight the big fishes but now they're known and there's no need for them to take out every single boss since Oda introduced 9 more capable crews that will change the world in their own way.

all the toys that will transform after Sugar goes down will help the Straw Hat crew
Oda already hinted that things won't go like that.

That was my favourite part of the chapter.
I'm not into analysing power levels and the like. But one thing is for certain, that fight with Doflamingo is going to shrek me up something fierce. Also yay Law isn't dead?

Croco will be his boss.Mihawk and Buggy are both Shichibukai, so they are the same level. BUT, Mihawk couldn't even hurt Buggy, so that means Buggy is stronger.
Anyway, there wasn't a single real, beginning to the end battle in Marineford, just short cameo-battles. All we know is that some characters are a lot stronger than some other characters and that some characters are close to some other characters. Can't have a relevant debate with that kind of info.
