Well at least we have things like the events in Loguetown for the Dragon DF issue.
Meadows was just a knee jerk reaction from a lot of us after the importance of masked fighters like Mr.Store, Ricky and Lucy.
I know, but we dont know if its a DF yet. It might be Uranus, wich is obviously linked to the sky. Or it could be some kind of haki, as the Clash of shanks and WB managed to cause the sky to split open.
And even if its a DF, im leaning more thowards a Mythical Zoan: Sky Diety (LIKE "DRAGONS" IN JAPANESE FOLKLORE LOL) or even paramecia than Logia since his powers seem too versatile to be logia class (being able to cause both wind, thunder and rain goes beyond any logia we have seen, who are always bound to one element/form of matter. "Weather" is too vague to be considered a type of matter or element.)
I think dofla still had some advantages oh his side. he got admiral and his "super executives" to handle strawhat's crew

That Hakuba face is so epic. Pretty freaky haha. Also showcasing Rebecca's speed. I like how she was the only one who could see it. Overall great chapter and worth the wait. Can't wait to see how the Franky vs Senor Pink fight turns out. Seems Franky's having a little more trouble than I thought he'd have. And Doffy underestimating the SH's like all if their previous enemies. All I can say is Doffy is in for a nice surprise.

Optimism. She appears, gets initial approval. Everyone generally decides she's pretty all right, but that they'll have to wait to be sure. The pretence is upheld that this character is not being seen as a NN candidate by the readership, but everyone secretly imagines it anyway, because a female NN is overwhelmingly the most popular option.
Disappointment. She gives any insight into her character whatsoever. Whatever the "perfect female NN possibility" looks like, she isn't it for 90% of the audience (because let's face it, Oda doesn't really "do" badass females, at least not yet… they can get to "tough," but "badass" tends to elude them, and "badass" is what this readership craves).
Attack. Provided the character sticks around long enough to keep suspicions of NN-hood going, everyone heaps fanatical abuse on her. Evidently this is done in the hope that Oda will somehow read it, nearly go into cardiac arrest at the thought that a few English-speaking fans dislike his character, and promptly cancel all NN plans surrounding her.
Apathy. The arc ends, the character's NN chances fade, and suddenly she ceases being topical and reverts to the position of pretty much any other supporting cast member, with only echoes of antipathy attached to her.
I can sort of see how this formula applies to certain female characters (again, hancock being reduced to a lame running gag) but i simply do not get the hate thowards characters like Vivi.

Now, that's better. It makes a bit more sense why a simple helmet could protected Rebecca and why Cavendish is suddenly out of the picture./remove:However, it's weird how Cavendish is stronger while sleep walking without Kenbunshoku Haki or that the helmet withstood it or why Hakuba didn't cut it./ She avoided it.
Nevertheless, the spoilers ruined the chapter quite a bit this time, they just disappointed too much. Shouldn't have read 'em.
Voilet seems to be the clever sister which fits with her ability. That, though, removes her form the SH candidates completely as she's too similar to Robin. The possibility of an SH dwarf has also been negated almost to zero since Luffy already saw one and we didn't see a significant reaction. So there's only the chance that the dwarf princess doesn't feel like she belongs on the island or the SH become closer friends with Wicca due to some incident.
On the other hand, at least according to the first translation, Kin'emon's chances have risen after Doffy simply counted him as a SH. In my opinion, they are still very low because of his child, his sword skills and Momo's possible royalty.

The whole point of her character was that she was stupidly selfless and wanted to burden everything on her own. It's not like she was kidnapped or constantly shown as incompetent either. She taught Luffy to not be so hotheaded and ended up taking out the goons guarding the cannon. She was always active. A "weak" character doesn't mean a bad character, ugh. That's such a stupidly common thing.
I'm intrigued with what the trigger for Cavendish's change to Hakuba. I know it it mentioned in the chapter but one must speculate :P

Yeah i was about to mention it. This twice as strong thing from spoilers made for UBER thread and fun powerlevel discussion about how much cavendishes of power one possess. I was suggesting that Luffy is 2.5 Cavendishes and that thread was 2.4 Cavendishes :D

Unfortunately that gives us a week with nothing to do, so let's pretend like a discussion of the chapter might produce something equal to that.
I can't help but wonder what might have happened if Rebecca had been the sleepwalker. There was a lot of argument against the notion of her pulling an unconscious speed-blitz, but Cavendish has done exactly that to apparently universal acceptance.

I was going to call Cavendish was actually a disciple of Kuro who surpassed him, so he ordered Jango to seal away Cavendish true abilities through hypnosis.
Then I remembered Kuro left the piracy life many years ago and Cavendish just started his 3 years now :/ too bad.

Well, Ace also got a lot of hate. I was a little annoyed at how "awesome" he was said to be without actually "showing" it, but he ended up a fine enough character, even if part of it was after he died.

Anyway Doflamingo is miscalculating some important things.
Luffy is not anymore at the Colloseum furthermore there's a third way to get into the port.
I love him being so super confident and miscalculation things which can lead up to 2 ways. A plot twist in which he knew everything (unlikely) and the other one is that he'll be suprised as f*** (suprisemaddafacka) and his face expression will be priceless.

Kid seems to be able to control electromagnetism through a paramecia type fruit, I wouldn't think it's that wild if Dragon could control the weather using a similar type of DF.

counting that it was a battle royal and not a "rebecca vs everyone",she doesn't need to be stronger of everyone in the ring to win..even bartolomeo won because he was the only one able to block the king punch.
rebecca was the only one in the ring capable to dodge that attack ,and cavendish attack was pretty much a suicide attack,so i don't see why her victory is cheap

Really good chapter although I'm certainly getting tired of Sabo's torso.. Other than that, good chapter. Seems like Doflois being outsmarted pretty easily. Hoping for Franky-Pink fight to occur in frame, and also hoping for either Luffy-Doflo or Finals to commence in the next chapter.
So I guess the next round will be a free-for-all with Barto and Sabo (maybe Rebecca) teaming up. It's a perfect opportunity to hype Burgess and showcase his abilities.

From what Bartolomeo and Bastille said the Hakuba phenomenon is known around the world. Accordoing to Bastille Cavendish is aware of this status. Another interesting thing about the chapter is, that the Don doesnt have a clue as to what is going on at the factory and near the coast with Big Mom, nor that Luffy left the colloseum. Everything because he lost Violet to the strawhats because of Sanjis chivalerie. If Violet would still work for the Don they would be fucked. The Don would be aware of everything the strawhats and Tontatta were doing. Sanji is the fucking man. Without him the Don would still have Violet and the strawhats would be pretty much fucked.
Well I dunno for which blue, but rommel is definitively a german name (romel was a german officer known for his elaborate strategies) Correct me if im wrong

After that, Barto proceeded to defeat the guy who defeated everyone else, so his victory doesn't have the same cheap feeling as Rebecca's, though I see your point.
I wonder what the feminists from the spoiler thread will think now that we know Rebecca won because a man did all the work…
Cavendish went into a time-limeted, superpowered berserker state, which allows him to be a nigh unstoppable cutting machine, but leaves him completely helpless afterwards. Enduring such a move until the opponent completely incapacitates himself is a completely legitimate win. And Rebecca used her specialized skillset to endure the attack, where no one else could.
Sure, her win is tied completely to the "lucky" presence of a superpowered speedster taking out everyone. Oda wrote the outcome of the battle to be that way. But as far as plotdevices go, its rather neat; Oda could use it for an effective cliffhanger, a snappy Block D wrap up, development of Cavendish and an advancement of Rebecca which feels natural. Sure I'd like to have seen her get a 1vs1, but this was fine.
