Wooooooo, Law is hurt! Someone get a doctor. Wait, what?!?
Chapter 729: "Shichibukai Doflamingo Vs. Schichibukai Law"
-
-
LAW ain't dead, just badly injured. Mingo won't have the time to kill him, will be interrupted be the mugiwaras/dwarves and LAW will win this chess game over Mingo.
The will in LAW is strong, don't underestimate him ^^, just cause he got bitchslapped and was used to establish the badassness of Mingo.
-
Oh, yeah, we are ignoring something: Bellamy failed redemption!
Have to say I am glad to see down there he is still the same old fail minor villain. For some reason he strikes me as one of the most boring characters in OP (personality, design, powers), so it annoyed me that he was going for some kind of change of heart that could turn him into an important character (I know this is stupid reasoning, but still that's how I feel).
-
im disappointed nobody make this joke about dellinger yet.
–-for the first time ever i kinda want someone in one piece to have a girlfriend/boyfriend. i want cora to be a girl that law likes. i feel like it's a stupid and cheesy idea but i want it.
-
@Print:
Hey guys, did Dofamingo just…
...break the Law?
Yes, Dressrosa is now a Lawless zone :ninja:
-
I predict this thread will be derailed in less than 24 hours.
-
this chapter was really really cool until… Law's got shot three times + this horrible hiatus! Does this mean that this is the last chapter of 2013? WHY???!!! It's not fair!
-
@.access:
Well, after seeing it, the scene is not as strong as I though from the spoilers. 0 chances of Law dying.
same here. Our imagination will be crazier and wilder if it is a novel.
probably the word death isn't match with Law as he can switch his heart to anybody's or when his own body is damaged.
Good timing that Law move the battle ground in front of Straws, did he just mention "buying time" for them? -
@Monkey:
Kora-san maybe Law's sister. And Vergo's lover? hahaha.
"san" means in english something like mr/ms. It's used to show respect. Im pretty sure its not sister oranything like that. More like someone he admires, someone older… maybe old sensei or something like that.
-
I think this arc ends with the Funk brother controlling DD and bringing Kaido out of hiding. Oda is going to turn the puppet master into a puppet controlled by Luffy and Law.
-
Ugh, in how many ways can MS screw up the word "Soldier"?
Never doubt MS to screw something :)
-
It comes back in Issue 2.
Thanks for the explanation! Now I wonder why the New Year is November. It is the end of autumn, indeed.
-
I like luffy saying to his crew "you are free to go wild". You are really a badass luffy. I like this chapter!
-
I noticed that too. She keeps appearing and reappering.
Maybe she's an actual witch? lol
Maybe she sometimes goes down on Zoro. You know, go hide down his shirt…
-
The situation on the cover looks like there's a bomb in that pie box that is going to blow up any minute. Well, I'm certain there's a twist coming. Anyway, I wonder what's that on his right eye?
@Maju:i don't know if someone already pointed it out,but something doesn't make sense..
i'm talking about the fact that dofla and law arrived in front of the colosseum while fighting.here is the rough map drew by bepo
http://i23.mangareader.net/one-piece/701/one-piece-3962459.jpgthe strawhats started from acacia,in the south west of the island, while the bridge to green bit is north.Did dofla and law just run for half the island while fighting, passing several cities in the process?
Law was just pushed back in a straight line towards Dressrosa. This a fight between >400Mio guys so it isn't really surprising either of them can hold out for that long. Two admirals destroyed a whole island in a fight.
It's also possible Law drew back deliberately towards Dressrosa to warn the SH about his failure. This would make more sense since it'd be awkward for him to abandon the purpose of his role and why he stayed behind even though he was loosing the battle, and Doffy wasn't in a hurry to return so Law probably wasn't trying to stop him from leavingI'm a bit disappointed about Dellinger's character as I already hoped for something else but maybe s/he's fun that way, too.
-
Kohza was shot three times right in his torso, one of them literally pierced through his heart, yet he lived… so I guess there's nothing to worry about Law.
-
i think Oda wants to speed up the arc..that's why he brought the fight in front of Colosseum…ain't complaining...this is better...
-
I don't understand whats going on in the cover story anymore.
-
Looks like they are wrapping up the cover story….I wonder who will be next to be in the cover.
-
Cora or Kora ? what's the right ?
-
I think this is interesting to note..
Derringer pistols are small pistols often very concealable and they were always popular with women, especially during the old west days, and as "back up" pistols for regular gunslingers.
In old spaghetti westerns you'll always see women hiding them in their garter belts and things like this.

Cora or Kora ? what's the right ?
I think the general consensus is to assume Cora for Corazon until Oda shows otherwise, Law does have the word tailored in his jacket
! I like Kora better because of the potential jokes though
-
I just love seeing titles like that, it's an amazing feeling.
Was a really good chapter. Good to see Luffy give orders and he didn't give them blindly. I loved how Zoro was jealous about not being in the tournament, that was funny. Doflamingos quote;
"You little shit, you thought you had a chance against me".
Franky going all out, bring on the iron soldier!
Very very good chapterThat's not what Doflamingo said.. Bad translation.
-
Cora or Kora ? what's the right ?
no one knows, same sound in japanese,so doesn't really matter for now.
-
This post is deleted!

@No:
Well Machvise, Senor Pink and (probably) Dellinger are still there. So that evens things out nicely.
No, a Dofla said to send Loa G group to the factory(by group means Machivise, Señor pink etc)
-
Kohza was shot three times right in his torso, one of them literally pierced through his heart, yet he lived… so I guess there's nothing to worry about Law.
Kohza was treated fairly soon so as I said in the spoilers thread, the question is how can Law get medical treatment. If Luffy and Zoro interfere they're up against Fujitora and Bastille as well. Furthermore Oda just reduces the number of the battle royal participants so one would expect Luffy to fight for the DF.
So the most trivial scenario would be if the marines demand the body and Wicca stole it at an appropriate moment before he's handcuffed. Then one just has to figure out who's going to lessen Luffy's rage and prevent him from rushing Mingo. -
Hmm fujitora is the weakest admiral by far, idk I feel he is lost in this arc. If akainu would be here everything would be dead.
-
Great chapter. Just great.
Though the only thing that caught my eye was the coverstory.
We saw last chapter how X Drake was draggin Caribou away.
And this week we see him being on a pretty big ship.
So my initial thought was that this ship is Kaido's ship and he's moving out to Dressrosa. But then I thought, well maybe it'a Kaido or probably X Drake.
Why? Well maybe he's going to Dressrosa to check the situation and he'll see that DD is not handling the situation properly. What do you guys think?
-
Even with Law and Donflamingo's powers, it's a little too convenient that this all happens in front of Luffy and Zoro.
-

Pulling down 3 meteors, while levitating an entire battleship.
While eating ramen …

it's just drake bringing caribou to kaido.
-
I barely read the spoilers yesterday, but in the mangastream release near the end it says "Kora-san"
It it supposed to say Tora-san? -
And what's up with Dellinger's design?
Only Oda would come up with such a design.
Dellinger's way of acting is really creepy too.–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Oh well probably I did overthink things there.
But you're most likely right though I'd be extremely happy to see the coverstory being tied into the actual story.
-
I don't actually I've been in such 'hard-to-sit-still' mood of such like 'omgasdfghklkl' over the mabga, genuinly, since Law appeared in Punk Hazard.
Fucking irony. -

while getting fooled by law, and one meteor crashed on his battleship

but it will.
remember that caribou is the only one apart from robin and neptune that knows that shirahoshi is poseidon, and i think that's where the cover story is going..all this will have a role in the vs kaidou arc, that also will probably happen at the same time with the reverie -

As for medical treatment, I always imagine Law's DF will somehow come in handy in a situation like this (remember what happened to Enel?)

Wh- …Why is Delly wearing heels?
...It's okay it's okay... I... just expected anything but... heels.
He's still an awesome character but... heels? I- I can't even remember anything else of this chapter! Guess Law got shot and… well he probably won't die at least.
...I ...I.
-
Good episode, first I like since a long ago. Nice to see Franky having a bit of scene time for once.
And its a pity that Law's death is so hard to believe with Oda's history. And why was Dofla using a gun and not his Freezer's death beam?
Oh, and what about Bellamy? He had all those redeeming flashes before just to be back to his asshole self. And what make him believe he had the slightest chance to kill Luffy? What a shitty character.
-
"Go Wild". Heheheee Dressrosa
!Franky having another moment, more of this please more of the "It's not a sin to live" Franky.
I also liked Derringer's apparition and Mingo finishing Law with a pistol absolutely no respect. -
Finally, the cover story's going to end soon. What's next for Caribou?
I dunno, I felt like this chapter was both a breather and a chaotic-action filled one. On one hand, you have the Straw Hats talking, bringing each other up to speed, discussing what to do next…..always good to see. But the frenzy of Law vs. Doflamingo kinda underscores that. And the chaos is bound to increase, given the subplots.
Anyway......Dellinger is one scary guy. Sure he's all cheerful and youthful, but it's the eyes man! And the style of talking. What will happen to Bellamy?
Nami's group reports their status while Franky's group talks about the rebel army......loved the panels of Luffy and Sanji looking serious and pensive. Franky's line was great, too.
But meanwhile, we have Law vs. Doflamingo. To no surprise, Dofla is wiping the floor with Law, although the latter gets a few hits here and there. My guess is that since both DFs rely on controlling an opponent to their whims.....they're sort of...."cancelling each other out"? What I mean is, Doflamingo isn't stringing (no pun intended) Law around and having him go "wha, I can't move my body!" and Law isn't scrambling Dofla's body parts around. Maybe it's haki. Who knows, but I'm kinda glad the battle isn't as extreme as it could be.....if that makes sense.
Then Doflamingo and Law (via Law's powers?) end up where Luffy and Zoro are, and Doflamingo shoots the poor bastard.
A little contrived, in my opinion. To have them fight in one area and making sure to move it where Luffy can appropriately react. I suppose it's more dramatic than Luffy stumbling upon Law's bloodied body later, but.....I dunno. Not too sure on this one.
Oh yeah, Law got shot. This is One Piece, he'll live. This is the same guy that cured the freaking children on Punk Hazard.

Because he's most likely gay. That's why he's wearing heels.

@The:

That's a little presumptuous. Maybe he wears heels because…..he's kinda kooky? Guy seems to be the type that would kill you with a big smile on his face.

Well… I mean, he was acting like a woman in the chapter, and kinda-sorta speaks like a teenage girl. lol
-
Why the hell is Dellinger wearing heels! It feels so random.
Anyway loved the chapter. Not sure if Law is dead or not, with that tricky devil fruit he has there's no way to know. -
@The:

Lol still, I view him as being more crazy than anything else. Doflamingo has picked up quite the eccentric crew.
-
Woh, already 13 pages, I can't read it all ! xD
That was an epic chapter. The Dellinger's apperance is scary and funny in the same time, is he an Ivankov's follower ? That would be… err, weird.I dunno if anyone have already speak about that, but a theory is about Law, he maybe have cut his important organs before hide them in a sure place. That would be an hint for his revival ?
-

I guess it was flamingo on purpose. He just rampaged law through the country. No teleport or such thing, just a good old beat up.
-
Oda did it again. Bravo! I take my hat off to you, master Oda.
