The 33 comes from another username I have. That name has it's own story, but I'd rather keep that one private, so I'm not gonna go into specifics.

Man, it's been so long since I came up with this username. I dunno, I guess I just wanted something that sounded generally kind of cool and cryptic. It wasn't really intentionally inspired by anything specific, though, yes, I had heard the story of Odysseus and the Cyclops. Now it's pretty much my username for everything (heck, I may have even used this username before I joined AP).

Basically, I was originally aiming to take just Klabautermann because I liked the little ghost so much at the time and put Silent in front because, well, it was probably the best indicator of my personality I could give at the time. Also, the fact that I came right off a German exam probably had some influence on my decision as well.
I grew tired of the length and constant misspellings after a while, and since on IRC I'd long since been shortening it to Silent it became what it is now, the K still there because, well, it does help differentiate me from Silence even if it makes my name sound like cornflakes. :P
My is a tribute to an old vilain of a popular comic in my country.
His super power is polution and he comands a army of "mud-creatures".

[/hide] and I was trying to use this name in the "knight online" MMORPG but it was already taken. I don't like add numbers, or other things after my user name, so I've flipped it into "Kerad".

Heh, it's a long story.
It goes back about twelve to eleven years when I first started playing a java-based MMORPG RuneScape that I played for over eight years after that and that first got me to online communities, and, in fact, eventually even got me here. It was a sort of an open world fantasy RPG where you could do everything from killing monsters to becoming a master woodcutter by chopping down thousands of trees (at one point I spent four straight months just sitting near some yew trees and chopping them down for three hours in a row - the full duration of my allowed PC time at that age), so I figured, at the age of nine, I wanted my character to have a fantasy name that wouldn't be too childish and lame but that would still incorporate the fantasy charm.
I had seen my friends play the game and had seen them come across players with names like Sir or Lord or Knight something something, and at the time it struck me as a good idea to emphasize the fantasy aspect of it by choosing something similar, so I decided that becoming a Lord sounded the best. Then I started thinking about things I really liked because obviously it would have to be a personal name, and Netherlands was pretty much the first thing that came to mind. I had been there for a few days with my Dad a year earlier and had absolutely fallen in love with the place (my life's most amazing birdwatching experience took place there, and it's something I will always remember with warmth), and having been a fan of their national soccer club earlier I knew Dutch names often had prepositions like Van or Van der that I loved the sound of. So it had to be Lord van Something.
But then I was in trouble. The maximum character limit was 12, and since I already had 9 characters as spaces counted I had to come up with something very short that would sound nice. And I spent hours thinking about three-letter words that would make the name to no avail. Everything just sounded awful. Then I got frustrated, stopped, and went to the bathroom, only to see my young sister's pack of diapers lying on the floor. And it had a huge text Pampers Baby DRY on it, with the last word completely in caps. I instantly knew I had it down. Lord van Dry sounded perfect.
And I stuck to that for as long as I played the game. They even implemented a name change option years down the line which lead to the vast majority of people who were unhappy with their original name changing their in-game names. I never did. The only problem arose when I started using IRC and realized an in-game name like LordvanDry looked absolutely hideous in an online chat where the context was completely different. It had to be changed, so I just took the only part of the name that I could make use of and inflected it. I didn't even have to think, it all came to me in an instant. I translated 'dry' in Finnish and added the -ish suffix to it in an ironic joke on my habit of being very matter-of-fact and dry whenever talking about something seriously. Then I later translated it back into English again when I started frequenting international boards.
And it's honestly the perfect name for me. Anyone who knows me really well knows that I'm not really a dry person at all, and that I don't really want to be one, but that I have a natural tendency of sliding into that kind of a role everywhere after having spoken in that way for a couple of times. It comes effortlessly, and it's a very fun image to spread around because it often lets me catch people by surprise when I do something that they never expect of someone as dry and boring as me. So by sticking with the name, I both embrace that role and simultaneously laugh at myself for being that way when I really am not. It's funny, simple, accurate, delightfully intelligent, ironic, and sounds really cool. And I absolutely love it like I always have.
The reason I love my parrot avatar so much ties into it too. It's funny to have a colourful avatar that in a weird way represents a colourful view of life and goes to show that I appreciate the beauty of it all when I my name is something that deliberately goes against that. Also, I just love parrots.

I came up with the username "CaptainBlackJack" (well, the german version "Käptn Black Jack" back then) while changing my name in another forum some years back. It was a mix of Kuro's german name (-> Captain Black) with Black Jack, a cola brand I liked drinking back then. Since then I used this username pretty much everywhere I log on, sometimes only with the abbreviation "CBJ".
On here I also wanted to use that name, but back then, when I first tried to register - which was probably in 2009 or 2010 already - I never got a confirmation mail, so I was never able to post on that account. Only when I made my current one I found out that I just had to use another mail service…
The "Apple" on here stems from the fact that I actually watched MLP:FiM back then and found it quite funny to change the middle part like that. Nowadays though I don't really want to be associated with that show anymore tbh, so eh.

I feel strangely stupid given that never occurred to me.
My original username here was "Super-Franky". …I think it should be pretty obvious why I picked. I kinda grew sick of it after a while, though, since I realised that using a One Piece related name isn't particularly creative/original. I decided instead that my username would be "cardboard box". I'm not entirely sure why I decided on that, but in any case, I really like the way it sounds in Russian. Thus, korobka was born.

My username comes form wayyyyy back whenever when I was making my first email address. I needed a name~ so my brother suggested 'supernova' and told me what one was. Well, I needed a number, as 'supernova@whatever' was taken, so I just chucked my then house number 122 on the end. I've mostly used 'supernova' since as a username, with varying numbers on the end (preference order: 122 -> 77 -> 90067 -> something else).
Well, as I've been using said same username for like ... most of my life, it's become so much my name to me that I kind of do a double take every time I read 'supernova' in a non-scientific context.

Also yeah, the only reason why I'm suddenly typing icky Americanisms is that I have my Word spellcheck set on English (US) for some reason and my entire essay/rant thing that I'm writing would have been absolutely riddled with red if I hadn't opted for writing with zeds. It kind of stuck. I'm expecting to go back to using ses once I'm done with that seeing how I've kept the us in words like behaviour.

Also since some of here - like you - have pony avatars on here, I feel like I should clarify what I meant with the last sentence. I once watched the show and yes, I liked it. I somewhen stopped watching it and after starting Gravity Falls I realized that at least for my taste there are even better cartoons out there (which doesn't mean FiM was bad in any means). What mainly turns me off nowadays is some part (not all of it) of the fanbase though - it weirds me out quite honestly...
Not much to say about my handle, I wanted something that sounded cool, and One Piece related.I figured anything popular would already be taken, so I decided to look through the bottem of the barrel of One Piece franchise lore for something. I didn't have to search too long, turns out nobody wanted anything to do with the Warship Island filler arc.
I've used a few variations of this username elsewhere, starting with DeviantArt (which is where I picked up the 'Deviant' from). Almost all of my online accounts have a reference to Samurai Champloo somewhere in the name, usually Mugen, because the show is amazing and Mugen is the best. Mugen is also kind of a deviant, so it fits rather well. Also, I like using underscores in my usernames whenever possible…
