@SunnyBlue:
I'm a bit confused with Inurashi statement about the strawhats trip to Raftel being redundant??
He said you are to find the location of Raftel using the road poneglyph and then you go back to the start again to follow the trail of poneglyph???
I think i'm just further confusing myself here.
This is not at all what he said.
He said following the Grand Line islands with the logs to their end point does not lead you to Raftel, it leads you to a different island where an average person would first FIND OUT about the Poneglyphs (and also the Road Poneglyphs) and how to actually reach Raftel.
What is redundant for the Strawhats is that the info on that island is stuff they already know, they know about the existence of a Lost History and of the Poneglyphs, and also about the Road Poneglyphs specifically and how they lead to Raftel.
Heck Inurashi even suggests that normally a person wouldn't even know about Raftel until they reached this other island, but after Roger that particular info must be pretty widespread.

@Coookie:
I think it was more along the lines of "When you reach the end of the New World, there's this island on which you learn that you'll have to follow the Road Poneglyphs to reach the REAL Raftel, go back to square one". Since the Straw Hats were told that simply sailing to the end won't cut it they won't have to do so, making that trip there obsolete.
Nothing about that suggests square one, I don't know where people are getting this idea that anyone has to "start over" or what that even means.
We're not sure whether this Last Island also reveals the Road Poneglyphs as a thing or not, or if that's information a person has to find by reading other different Poneglyphs. Either way there's never been a suggested "trail" of Poneglyphs that lead to Raftel outside of the Road Poneglyphs (which isn't a "trail" either).
We already know this to be untrue from what we now know.
-You follow the logs to reach the Last Island
-You find the four Road Poneglyphs to get four coordinates, with which you draw a big "X", and Raftel is at the middle of that X where the lines cross.
That's the process. The other Poneglyphs teach you history and/or lead to locations of the Ancient Weapons, also stuff like Joy Boy's message. And perhaps even locations of Road Poneglyphs maybe.
Saying they need to "start over", it sounds like people think a pirate crew would have to go locate a whole bunch of Poneglyphs. But it should only be the four Road ones, which don't require any kind of "start over".
