You don't have to wait until it's summer again, Disney….

@vyse&homunculus:
Cartoon Network does this all the fucking time and I'd think Disney would be guilty of it too, but that production value comment in this thread swayed me back into neutral waters on the subject.
As I said though, Cartoon Network sends those shows to the cornfield while they're on hiatus; look at Batman: The Brave and the Bold for another good example of that. There are several episodes of that that probably only ever aired on Cartoon Network two or three times at most (the premiere and the Saturday morning repeat unless it was preempted by something else) and the show has no presence in the lineup at all since it ended. And that was a show that got fairly good ratings and also had a fair amount of success when it came to merchandising. Even when it was airing, you either caught the premiere or missed that episode unless you managed to watch that one repeat of that episode early on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, you had three or four chances to catch the latest Adventure Time or Regular Show throughout the week. Gravity Falls might not be airing new episodes, but they are keeping it in the original timeslot and occasionally airing episodes throughout the week as well.

I was watching Twin Peaks today and had a small realization:
-
I bloody miss this show :C
-
I can't even begin to express my utter disappointment at the absence of this show. :3 :3 I swear I'd rather a Halloween candy monster eat my innards than wait for this show any longer. :3 :3 :3

I'm gonna go punch a dolphin in the mouth.

No Christmas Special till late next year.
Merry Christmas. -
stop bumping this thread with bad news, you monsters

This was posted on Alex's twitter a while back,
"New Year? New Episodes! Just got word from Disney- Gravity Falls returns early 2013. Assuming we survive the Mayan Apocalypse."
Vague, but better than nothing I guess.
-
I'd have loved to see Stan exploiting Christmas for more money or something like that. And at the end, he would've realized that it's not the money that makes Christmas (Sumstmas? Christmer?) but love and family.
-
New episodes will start back up 2/15.
-
Well, better than nothing?
!
We gotta use reaction faces for our own reactions -
So much for all the waiting, there's new details about the upcoming episode!
! Boss Mabel
S01, E14 (First Aired: February 15, 2013)
When Mabel questions the way Stan runs the Shack, he challenges her to a bet.Oh god this looks hilarious

Oh god this looks hilarious
Agreed.
Only 14 more days to go…
-
Posting promos for Boss Mabel.
-
Oh Mable, how we have missed your unique brand of living~
-
Can it be the 15th yet?
-
I missed this showed so much.
-
If you're a good person, you will catch Boss Mabel next week…
But you CAN find the episode online if you look for it. Just sayin'
-
Better watch it before Tumblr ruins it for me.
-
It's a good thing I'm not a good person, then. Thanks for the tip, Gizmo.
Man, this episode really delivered some great laughs. Damn, I missed this show…
-
Dunno if anybody else has played it, but there's also an online game called Rumble's Revenge, which is akin to something like the arcade Simpson's game/Double Dragon etc where you can be Dipper/Mabel for 4 levels.
There's also a bunch of codes in the game that the internet has decoded already that hint at more things going on in the show.
And here's the description for the next episode, which unfortunately won't be shown until March (though it'll probably be released on demand a week earlier like Boss Mabel).
! Bottomless Pit!
! While Stan, Dipper, Mabel and Soos are falling in a bottomless pit, they tell stories to pass time -
[hide]A story time episode? That should be great fun… :D[/hide]

You guys could link where you got the episode. Or Profile message me. I had no luck searching yesterday

Aspiring writers that legitimately want to be a writer on Gravity Falls. Check out Alex Hirsch's twitter. Apparently they're accepting writing samples/resumes!
https://twitter.com/_AlexHirschHas to be original work, not Gravity Falls written material. Sent to mysteryshackinbox@gmail.com
Apparently sending pictures of owls will increase likelihood of consideration.
And even though scripts are preferable, they are willing to accept things like comics.
Best sent by the 18th people! That's this Monday. I know AP Forums has a lot of talent, but I'm not sure how many people actually want to go pro with writing. Just thought it'd be worth posting.

I nominate Silver R Bolt for new Gravity Falls Writer.
-
He doesn't have that many followers on Twitter. This may be one of those times where every entry gets evaluated in depth

Hey Guys.
I remember hearing about this show, and I liked the art style. There were times where it would be on but I never payed attention to it. Watching it right now, Diper and Mabel are going back to the past several times cause Diper has a crush on Wendy and all that stuff.
If there's one thing I can say I like already about the show (despite barely watching it ever before), is that the humor is really nice. I like it.
-
-
Cuz you are an animator and someone who knows a lot about animation.
-
I don't know the first thing about writing though :U
Sorta. Kinda.
I wouldn't get the job. One of my friends who's actually into writing applied though!
Btw, super flattered!
-
I've missed this show.
-
What's really cool about Gravity Falls is that their writers tend to come from the live-action side of things rather than animation, so they use scripts more than storyboards.
Also, for what it's worth, I'm in the middle of submitting a script to them myself. Crossing my fingers, but I'm having a rough time with real life issues catching me off guard :X

So, next episode is March 1st and then the following one is March 15th, right?
-
Here you go, probably the next two episode titles and summary:

So, next episode is March 1st and then the following one is March 15th, right?
Yeah, and I think the episode after that will be on the first Friday of April. Guess they're showing the episodes on a biweekly basis, with the episodes showing up on demand a week before.
As for the future episodes themselves
! I think the merman one is showing before the Carpet Diem one.
! Glad that Mabel is getting the lead story with the supernatural (hopefully).
! As for the hidden room, I'm also hoping it's not the secret room that Grunkle Stan is keeping secret unless that episode unveils some huge revelations about Gravity Falls and where the show's future story will go.
! As for the Bottomless Pit episode, from the promos it seems to be trying to recreate the Treehouse of Horror/Anthropology format of The Simpsons/Futurama. Have a good feeling about it even if those types of episodes even if those aren't my favorite episodes of their respective series. -
Checked one of the few tumblr pages that I visit and yeah more fanart!
!
-
Oh we're posting fan art, did I ever post mine?
!
Shameless plug, I also

Episode has leaked
http://www.watchcartoononline.com/gravity-falls-episode-14-bottomless-pit! Actually think this was the weakest episode, or at least one of them.
! My favorite stories in order Stan (it was amazing),Mabel,Soos,Dipper.
! Dipper's I had a hard time getting into because he sounds like an adult so addressing the "cracks" in his voice seemed odd (or maybe I just don't remember his voice cracking in previous episodes).
! I also found the moral of Mabel's story weird. I realize Gravity Falls likes to turn some lessons-of-the-week on their heads like saying revenge is underrated or just show the wrong morals like with Stan.
! But they seemed to play the "lying is okay for the greater good" straight, which seems like a bad moral lesson to teach to kids if they aren't getting into any nuance of when it's okay (yes, Stan's illegal antics are played for laughs but the episode seemed to justify his actions)
! Plus I didn't laugh that much this episode. I did find this scene humorous though even if I didn't laugh aloud when watching.
!

! Next Up: Footbot Two: "Grunkle's Grevenge!"
! It wasn't a bad episode. Not the best, but I enjoyed it for the most part. None of the stories were gutbustingly funny though but some of the one-liners were great.
