Watched episode 6 and I have to agree, even though it was funny it felt out. I guess the plot is really good and when it doesn't happen at all, it's just a plain funny show.
Gravity Falls

I loved episode six! Dipper is my favorite of the main cast so seeing a hilarious episode starring him was great. It was so quote-worthy moments and the names were hysterical.
"I smell…emotional issues."
This show is right up my alley. Incredible!
-
New Episode tonight!
-
Best episode yet. I laughed out loud plenty of times throughout. I love the main cast. All of them. The Mystery Shack gang were all given great moments, from Grunkle Stan's pricing his event as "free?" to Soos shouting that he would never stop being distracted to Mabel finding her people. Of course Dipper stole the show on this one, seeing as half of this episode's characters were him. I loved how he played off of himself. That moment where he prepares his own capture (down to leaving him with resources to survive) followed by him noticing his escape all too late. Tons of great material tonight.
Looks like next week will give us some background story, so I'm highly anticipating that.
-
I downloaded this episode yesterday and was waiting to talk about it after the release.
Loved it. New favorite. All the side characters stood out the entire episode. And Soos as the DJ? Priceless.
-
"And Soos will eventually get bored of the green dot-"
"NEVER!" -
Missed the regular airing, but I just finished watching it on demand. Yep, pretty darn good episode. I loved Dipper's fantasies about Wendy. And "Don't Start Un-believing."
-
This episode was so amazing.
My favorite part:
"It's better this way for Paper Jam Dipper…"It was so depressingly hilarious.
The code at the end this week says:
"Paper Jam Dipper says: 'Auughwxqhgadsadph!'"
-
Great episode, but it still can't beat The Inconveniencing for me. ^__^
Highlights/Thoughts:
! So that's why he's called Dipper. o_0
! "It's me, you. I just had the same jealousy fantasy"
! Anyone caught that Wendy was Dan's (the lumberjack) daughter? I've heard people mention hints of it in previous episodes but it only became obvious for me when Wendy showed us her wallet photo
! NOOOOOOOOOO TYROOOONE
! I really want to see Mabel's new friends as recurring characters
! Anyone knows how long they'll be using the new cipher (Atbash) for? -
The new episode "Irrational Treasure" is on demand and probably online.
And I think it may just be the best episode yet.
! First and foremost, I loved that they brought Pacifica back, and the cameo by Lil Gideon was great.
! Also, we get further world building! Who is the mysterious man calling the shots? What is Dipper going to use that key for? Are there any locks he has come across so far in the series?
! Also, how about the amazing Doctor Who reference?
! Also, once the episode airs I have my new sig (though much smaller)
[hide][/hide]
! Finally, the code (still in Atbash) is:! E.Pluribus Trembley
So in short: Good world building + great humour + a Doctor Who reference = my favorite episode yet.
-
I've got to agree, Irrational Treasure had me cracking up almost every scene.
[hide]I guess I'm a sucker for incredibly silly humor, but Quentin Trembley tickled my funny bone.
"We didn't fit through the hole. Looks like we're going to have to reconstruct the crate and try again!"
That $-12 bill… "This is worth nothing!" "It's worth less than nothing!"[/hide]
-
This is a quality show right here. I'm loving it!
-
What I found hilarious was
! Mabel learning to let go of her revenge (which is infinitely commendable)
! Dipper: … Well I haven't learned anything! -
Another great episode.
! Loved the Li'l Gideon cameo, the "landslide" victory, and the $-12 bill.
! Although, I must ask, what Doctor Who reference are you referring to Nex? Do you mean the "Wood, my old archnemesis" line? If so, I'm pretty sure that's just coincidental. -

! Although, I must ask, what Doctor Who reference are you referring to Nex? Do you mean the "Wood, my old archnemesis" line? If so, I'm pretty sure that's just coincidental.! Yeah that's it. It bore a resemblance to a scene in season 6 (or was it 5?) It just seemed to similar not to be a reference: it's a key that will unlock anything, but it doesn't work on wood (jokingly of course.) Also, considering some of the other obscure shows Gravity Fall's has referenced, I wouldn't be surprised.
! It could, of course, possibly be completely coincidental, but I'd like to think it was a nod to the good ol' Doctor.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also, found this. It's probably now my favorite part of the episode:
!
-
This is so much better than that lame pony stuff.
Finally caught up.
-
Okay, I now have Double Dipper to watch. But I heard there was another episode leaked? Or am I mistaken?
Also - I did a drawing of Manly Dan. Because why the hell not.
!
Also you can watch a speed draw here:
!
-
What program is that?
-
Oh God, this show is awesome.
Whatever would I do without this forum telling me which shows to watch?!I've seen episodes 1-7 now, and since I love Dipper episode 7 is my favourite so far.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
! That guy married a woodpecker.
This is totally my show. -
This show is brilliant in every possible way. I can't wait for Episode 8 (despite it being leaked apparently).
I can't stop whistling the theme song.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT MY CANDY PAWS
-
I saw Episode 8 and all you guys talking about it. I just assumed it was out for a while but I had no idea it was leaked.
Good one, Internet.
-
Yay watched Episode 8 too. Not really a favorite of mine (especially when The Inconveniences AND Double Dipper exist) but still further proof that this show is the greatest thing ever.
Need I say more?
-
@Nia:
Whatever would I do without this forum telling me which shows to watch?!
yes yes yes yes
! That guy married a woodpecker.
This is totally my show.! It's amazing how they even bothered to deconstruct such a relationship <3 GF yet again.
And yes, Kitsune, with that new avvie of yours I shall be thinking of
! the huge list Dipper makes in the 7th episode -
Yeah, I got bored and slightly annoyed by Kitsune's overflowing enthusiasm and hype for this series earlier today, so I decided to check it out and see for myself what this new fad's all about before I judge anyone prematurely. I must say finding a cartoon that would appeal to my own inner child is so rare that I honestly expected I'd hate Gravity Falls, but man was I wrong. Most of these episodes thus far have been amazing. This'll be the first series I have followed in years <3
Also, the soundtrack is the best thing ever made.
-

Good one, Internet.
To be fair, they're not really being leaked. Disney releases them a week early On Demand. Then people do as people do, and make it available to watch online. That's the only reason we get them early. If Disney didn't do that we'd all have to wait.
-
I finally got around to this. Starting the first episode now and am I the only one to think that the theme song is kinda creepy ?

That's the point… but the animation. THINK OF THAT GLORIOUS ANIMATION.

So I've been looking into ratings for the show and I'm surprised at what a hit it is, even in Adults 18-49!
Episode 1 - 3.399 million total viewers; 2.0 million viewers/5.0 rating K2-11; 1.7 million viewers/6.8 rating K6-11; 1.3 million viewers/5.6 rating T9-14; 659,000 viewers/0.5 rating in A18-49

Episode 3 - 3.17 million total viewers? (aired on a Saturday, so I don't know exactly, but I'm guessing 0.4 rating in A18-49) Yeah, nobody ever reports Saturday ratings :(
Episode 4 - 2.953 million total viewers; 498,000 viewers/0.4 rating in A18-49
Episode 5 - 3.552 million total viewers; 2.3 million viewers/5.5 rating K2-11; 1.8 million viewers/7.2 rating K6-11; 1.2 million viewers/5.1 rating T9-14; 604,000 viewers/0.5 rating in A18-49

I love all the stuff they cram into these documents
!
I am going to eat this entire oak tree because I am a powerful wizard! -
PIONEEEEEEEER DAY!
Was… was that a Dan Vs. reference?
-
Huh. I'd never heard of this show before this thread.
Guess I'll give it a watch soon.
-
That was the best episode so far. Very plot moving. Now I'm curious to what role Pacifica is going to play next, and the identity being the "big guy" that wanted to hide the history of Gravity Fall's true founder. Speaking of that guy, I hope he shows up again.
And I'm just now reading over that document stuff. Dying here.
-
I learned the opening theme on guitar. All the parts. The intro arpeggios, the rhythm chords, the main "whistle" lick.
lol.
So I just found out the chubby guy with the goggles in one of the snapshots at the end of the opening theme has been showing up in the background inconspicuously on different occasions. And Stan's magic 8 ball staff is obviously an important mystery, as well. I never noticed the Konami code either. God I love this shit.
-
Aoshima has me feeling so conflicted.
-
trapped, promise me that after watching the first 8 episodes you will pass the good word of gravity Falls onto the rest of Singapore
we need this shit on disney channel asia.
-
Watched the first ep. Pretty cool.
Let's just hope next time my computer doesn't lag so much. -_-
-
PIONEEEEEEEER DAY!
Was… was that a Dan Vs. reference?
Seemed like one to me too.
Anyone else found it odd that Dipper just handed Pacifica all of the original documents in the evidence against her family? I hope that come back to bite him on the ass later.
-
Anyone else found it odd that Dipper just handed Pacifica all of the original documents in the evidence against her family?
Yeah, I expected her to just tear them apart the second she had read them, right in front of Dipper's face.
-
Thanks alot kitsune, now my entire day off is gonna be wasted on this show.
-
Waste implies that this isn't the best possible investment of your time.
-
I'm loving how many people are getting into this show.
-
This is about the best thing ever:
-
Watched all of the episodes.
Why is this show so great? And why is Grunkle Stan so damned awesome?
-
So, I just watched all episodes too. Why can't be the future in the past already so that I could watch moar?
Also I wonder what Wax Larry King's head is up too. :ninja:
-
Also I wonder what Wax Larry King's head is up too. :ninja:
Well, he's still in the vents, so I guess he's still spying on people and occasionally giving them fashion tips.
-
Episode 9 is on demand… some kind soul needs to leak it for us.
-
This is a dark day for America.
Aaaaand I'm caught up.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Watched the first 2 episodes.
Great show so far. In fact… time to watch more.
-
So episode 9 leaked.~ Just google it and you should have no trouble finding it.
As for my thoughts on it, while objectively not quite the best episode, this episode is probably going to be my personal favorite for extremely personal reasons. Spoilers.~
! This dilemma is kind of the story of my life right now. I wanted nothing more than to get myself on the path I thought was right, so I spent countless days, weeks, and months doing everything I could to make sure all the variables fell into place. And then they all did. But kind of at the detriment of the people I love. Like, I was willing to put people just as broke as me into a very risky situation that could have, well, ruined their entire lives if I wasn't careful.
! Sure it's not the same thing, but it just had all the right emotions to go along with it. I mean, my friends would no doubt put themselves in that situation for me, but ultimately it would have cost them a great deal and ultimately lead them to sadness. Basically, I was being selfish.
! And to top it all off, I even cried at the Mabel scene. It worked the pathos quite perfectly. This whole episode in general was an emotional delight, especially because I love me some time travel plot, but it just resonated with me personally on a higher level. Oh and the future really IS in the past!
! Also Dipper really is me. -
Thank you kit!
Loved this episode.
! Code is Not H.G. Wells Approved. Huh.
! I'm slightly disappointed by the fact that Blendin turned out to be just a time traveler. I was expecting him to be much more mysterious. Still a great episode. Loved the jokes coming back like the green futuristic lasers and lol @ the pig causing Robbie's jeans to shrink.618
Golden ratio? The Hertford Manuscript? Who knows. Man this is some Da Vinci shit right here.
