@Hinscher:
Whiteberad, Ace and others are not the strawhats. The real series protagonists. Thus they do not count.
I'm not talking about them needing to win, I'm talking about their better be a damn good reason for not cutting off the heroes head to make sure he is dead.
Such as Aokiji had some honor reason due to the duel, Garp, Robin, ect.
Or not killing Franky and Robin cause one has knowledge needed and other knows of blueprints.
Or CP9 honoring Robin's agreement not to kill them.
Or Moria needed them alive to have their shadows.
Otherwise it just annoys me when there is no damn good reason the heroes should be alive when these super bad villians end up beating them. Take Hodi. Why did he just show Zoro, Brook and usopp on the monitor in some room that was goingt o fill with water to show Luffy that he is so much superior. Why not show a picture of Zoro, Brook and usopp's head on a spike instead? Why didn't enel just take his staff and make it pointed and walk over and stab Zoro, Robin, GanFall, and so on in the chest after he knocked them unconscious. Why did arlong throw Zoro in some room tied up and not just kill him? If it was any other random Human he would have killed him, but Zoro got plot armor in that scene. Or the amazon females not killing Luffy as soon as they were told he was a guy. Its their Law.
I'm not against heroes losing, I'm against villains not killing them without a good reason. Just like in this arc, leaving Zoro, Sanji and Brook just laying their in the snow. Or throwing Sanji, Franky, nami, ect in a jail cell instead of killing them. Or now with Luffy. There better be a good reason he is not just killed right now. Seeng as Franky and nami are still there I have hope that it gets resolved better than the bad guy just walking away with a speech of "no one has ever survived that poison" scenerio. That would piss me off.

He had a reason for not killing them though. He was Daddy's buddy.
As i just posted above. I need reason to not have someone killed.
A super badass, evil, insane, mass murdering villian just leaving someone laying around that they "THOUGHT" they killed just annoys me.
But what do you guys care why i find this beginning arc part annoying for or not. If your fine with them then so be it. I'm just explaining why I'm annoyed right now. Sure there is other things going on, but its hard for me to enjoy them when all I can think about is the fact that so and so should be dead right now.
Ceaser put them in a cell because he needs test subjects. That's the reason why he abducted them in the first place, lol.
About Enel, that arc deeply annoyed me, despite being my favourite in terms of symbolism and everything else. First Enel killed no one. Then Wiper watched Enel revive, instead of stepping him with the damn kairoseki skate I'm still so deeply annoyed with this… was he that fucking dumb.
Hody decided to kill them with water to show them "how powerless humans are underwater"... It's pretty in character. Even fishman can die in a stake, but no Fishman would die of drowning and getting eaten by sharks. It's a "Humans are inferior" remark. And it actually adds to his character.
Arlong not killing Zoro... he wouldn't kill him that easily. He didn't kill anyone that paid, even if he could do it. And he wasn't that eager to kill people in any part of the arc.
On the Amazons, it's a rulle they never had to follow, and any time they could, they didn't. A man didn't visit the island since time knows when, and you know, bitches get curious. They were never shown to be that extreme with any rule, other than the ones regarding the gorgon eyes, and the empress wasn't even there. In another manga they would've raped him 'til he was dry and leave him to rot after that, but then it wouldn't really be one piece, would it?
Take it easy, dude. It's true they could've died dosens or hundreds of times. They're just lucky as fuck. And that's just how they roll, or did you miss the loguetown arc? (it wasn't actually luck, but that the straw hats will never know.

@nodensuke:
Her entire eyeball wasn't always black though, she has the outer black pupil thing, but why is the right eye black in the first panel and the left black in the second?
Inking + Recycled Paper + Mid Quality Scans + Levels + Denoise…
Yeah, if there is anything you shouldn't trust in a scanlated manga, is the inking.
The entire eyeball isn't black. It's only a thicker outline to indicate she's focusing her gaze, and the hair is covering the transition to the white part, in the first panel.
The one in the left is just precision problems. That's a small pannel in a smaller than A4 page, and the prespective makes that eye really small, there is only so much an assistant can do to ink that and leave some white... And the leveling ruins it most of the time.
http://mangastream.com/read/one_piece/17123593/19 here you can see a bit of the white, if you look closely, and in the raw it should be evident.
