Guy that has unique design, is a Mink that ate Tourtle Zoan, strong fighter probably comparable with Monster Trio and Jinbe, somebody with a quirk that made it obvious for some characters that Pedro has to go with Strawhats as he knows that habbit of Pekoms that we do not know of yet ? Also Pekoms is set to have big fight during this arc - revenge rematch(even though their first fight was not much of a fight) against Bege ?
Also Pekoms does not have very complicated design and would be easy to draw on weekly basis.. Hmm...

I would say any chances Pekoms seemed to have died last week when Luffy pretty much didn't gave a fuck about him disappearing and instead was excited about things were unfolding. I don't think Oda would ever make Luffy act like that if a SH-to-be was taken by his enemy (ok, the said enemy is Pekoms crew, but we saw how he was handled by them last time).
Sure, this time he somehow redeemed Luffy by making him worry a bit, but it was still just "shouldn't we search for him, guys? No? Ok, so what's next?"

Biased description of introduction. You should at least PRETEND to try not to be so biased.
All of those are perfectly accurate, and to question them you'd have to have not read the manga (at least for a long while).
Some of it would be as easy as posting pages.
Let me show you with added speculation:
Fishman Island Arc: Jinbe invited to crew but delayed
Punk Hazard Arc: 1st Alliance established
Dressrosa Arc: Strawhat Grand Fleet established
Zou Arc: 2nd Alliance established
Totland Arc: 10th Strawhat Jinbe will officially join….probably
Marco Arc: ….maybe Grand Fleet gets Marco and some Whitebeard Pirates
Wano Arc: 11th Strawhat "insert character" will officially join…probably
Not only does this have nothing at all to do with the list I made and what was being discussed, its also assuming a pattern where none exists (and isn't even demonstrating one? let alone for your case?).
Hmm…who that is not already a Strawhat will most likely be in the Zou, Totland, Marco, AND Wano Arcs? Only 3 candidates....Carrot, Pedro, and Pekoms as is seen now. That could change. I'll state that is A LOT of time for character development.
Nothing about your "pattern" establishes even within its own logic that someone will join the crew in Wano. It doesn't even establish that anything will happened because there's no pattern. Just as assumption that every single arc now apparently some sort of allegiance will be established, but we have no reason to assume that.
Even given that, if something is established in Wano it could just be more allies to the fleet lol.
But again your relying chapter after chapter (soon volume after volume) that Oda will establish ANYTHING main cast like about Pedro…or even just anything focused on him. Which breaks with actual pattern I mentioned with every single other past crew member. Even including Robin as a villain who we didn't have reason to suspect. Even still she was more highlighted and focused on.
Pedro vs Pizarro…that would be a good speculated match....that I already thought of a while back....if of course Pedro is a crewmate. There was a Spanish chronicler and conquistador named Pedro Pizarro. He also happened to be involved with the Incas.....now follow the bread crumbs.

The actual famous conquistador Oda would base names off of is Francisco Pizarro.

Robin is a strong female in my eyes.
When people are saying strong here what they're meaning is a more physical female member, one not afraid to get dirty, the sort who might be caught in the middle of the Luffy/Usopp shenanigans. The kind to be assertive on islands as well. Nami is assertive on management and leadership things in planning parts. And Robin is stealthy and strong in a subtle support fire way. But there's no female character aboard who rushes in at the front.
Robin and Nami are/can be strong to be sure. But they still exist in this sort of detached feminine bubble of sorts. And people are kind of sick of that separate gender dimension thing and want someone who shatters it.
Vivi kind of fulfilled all these things when she was around. Its actually surprising on rereads of the Baroque Works plot how much that aspect of her stands out in contrast to the reality we've gotten used to.
Like you even have Nami trying to relate to her on Little Garden on the level of "Man we'll never be caught striding out into the dangerous jungle right?".
And Vivi's like "Actually naw, I'm going with Luffy, I'll go nuts if I stay here."

It would have to be an interesting revival of the Kuina backstory. But by Oda's modern standards I am really unsure he'd do something like that anymore.

I always wondered about that as well.
The only thing I caught while reading the SBS (and some interviews) is that he mentions several times how his daughters are instantly drawn to typical girl things like Pretty Cure. Maybe that made him go all-out "girls are like this and boys are like that" mode?

When Luffy goes and reaffirms that Sanji is going to get a girl, he also mentions that if he gets married, they might get a new crew member. I think this is the clue, I also thought that by him saying this, Luffy wasn't opposed to the idea of a crewmate past Jimbe, which is nice.
Unfortunately, no one has provided accurate proof of anything, from Pudding, Pedro, Carrot, Pekoms, Ceasar, Bartolomeo, Viola, Rebecca, Kinemon + other samurai, Momo, Monet and Caribou…I mean back in the day, I would get strange looks when after the war I was saying that Jimbe would join, but at least I'd try to say, well look at the impact he had on Luffy, plus how he helped him not sink into depression. He is strong and a fishman giving more diversity to the crew, specially after the whole racism/slavery thing we got before they got separated. From back then, the idea that the strawhats would invite a fishman into the crew were high. Though most of the people I heard talking about it hailed the Starfish guy, it was a bit concerning.

Sometimes you wonder if Vivi could be the last one after Jinbe….Then it fades away.
Vivi has the honorary strawhat thing going… and the fact that she (and Carue) was the only other character included in the playing with animals title pages for YEARS. Oda broke down and starting doing fan requests right before the time skip and starting including other folks, but... the intent of making sure we remembered Vivi was pretty clear.
She was and still is important. Sailing with the crew? Maybe not so much. Part of the crew? Absolutely.

It seems Pedro tooks over Carrot's position. We know that tragic past wins against naive 'i want to see the world" charcater. Even though the reasons are kinda similar to what people were putting forward for Momo. Someone else but Robin looking for the poneglyph's too

Also as people were mentioning in the chapter thread, that story was as much setting up Pekoms as it was Pedro.
Explaining in part why, when and how Pekoms ended up on Big Mom's crew.

I wouldn't call that a tragic past, it's just, well… a past. Everyone has one. It's an intriguing one, because it ties in to the plot at hand, but it's clearly not portrayed as something we are supposed to bawl out eyes out about.
Having Pedro and Pekoms hanging around with the crew and hunting on each island for poneglyphs, sure would give them something to do.
At least against Kaidou they would have a job, otherwise looking for it, could be also done by everyone else.
So maybe those two will again join forces to sail the sea for some kind of hint for the last roadponeglyph, so that we will see them again for the last road ponegylph arc as well as some sweet coverstory action.
This is getting ridiculous, let's give my boy Jinbe some respect, here he is pouring his heart out about why he should join the crew and you guys wanna talk about Pedro's likely Traitor ass. Oda is telegraphing the hell out of that by the way.

I've been waiting for this conversation between Jinbe and his crew! I always imagined it would go something like this as well. I've been saying for years that Jinbe is the type who does everything for everyone else trying to be Super Man. I always looked at him like Robin, someone just weighed down who needs the Straw Hats to be free. Even in his cover story you can tell he'll go out of his way to help everyone because its the right thing to do but dang does he get tired of everyone else's ship!
Sometime in 2010 I remember debating with people in person at a convention about Jinbe joining. I had no allies in that fight. It was a good 20 people surrounding us and listening in and no one saw things the way I had. The debate ended with me "losing" because everyone said Jinbe would only be an ally, this was before the blood transfusion scene mind you. I remember specifically mentioning that Jinbe does so much for everyone else that joining the Straw Hats would be something for his own sake. Mainly because joining Luffy would be the best way to aid human and fisherman relations, Luffy is the guy who could change the world after all. But at that anime convention the people(here too) rightfully told me that it would be impossible for Jinbe to be aware of something like that. For us as readers yes but not someone within the story. Thinking about it now though, doesn't it just make absolute perfect sense that a future Straw Hat would have all the faith in the world to know that by following Luffy they would have the best chances of realizing their dreams? Oh how I would love to see the faces of those people after the transfusion and after todays chapter!

Another thing of note is the designs of Jinbe's crew and after all this time we've only got one other named individual. Well 3 now if you count Wadatsumi and the new half hammer head. There is a look'alike of Vander Deckin's A/B in there, and some cool looking people like that Zora guitar player with hair coving his eyes but no one else really stands out with a design and personality that would help carry the plot forward.
Except for Aladine, all the important Fishmen and Mermaids appeared in the Tiger flash back and it looks like the random rest just followed Jinbe. With the sudden resolution of their feelings about Jinbe leaving, no given names and designs, to me it looks like they were always intended to be left behind somewhat as an after thought.
I mean I know they will continue to play a role as a group and maybe this opinion is too strong too soon but does anyone else see where I am coming from?
Not that its a bad thing and surely we will see more from a few of them later but seeing them all in one big group like that and just agreeing to let Jinbe go after seeing next to nothing of them is just interesting is all.
I don't think it needs to be spelled out any more when it comes to Jinbe's dream. For the most part many folks around assumed it had something to do with mending Fishman and human relations and I think thats pretty much it.
People would always question that dream with "well how would Jinbe know that following Luffy would help?" or "how does following the Pirate King help with race relations?" Like I said above we as readers know that and it looks like Jinbe has understood that since the war as well. I mean when White Beard gave his dying speech, Jinbe very well could have read between the lines and realized that whole thing was about Luffy.
And to think for the past 2 years within the story Jinbe has been going on an on about Luffy like he's got a school yard crush! This chapter has me so excited, make me wanna slap my mama!
It's been so long and in this one chapter Oda had Jinbe just lay it all out there! No beating around the bush with Big Mom's answer or how Jinbe feels about Luffy.
No death! No division captain! No honorary member! Just an honest to goodness full fledged Sunny sailing Straw Hat!
Now a few of us have noted over the years how Jinbe goes out of his way to do everything for everyone else and holds back on his personal goals. Maybe this will play into his relationship with other crew mates. Remember that anime filler after Brook just joined and he kept trying to be helpful but only messing things up? Maybe Jinbe gets caught up in everyone else's business on the ship and occasionally goes over board and gets in the way?
