Suuuuuure, it can't, Chopper. Sure, it can't.

Oh wait, I already commented.

holy shit that chopper voice was so bad

So many people are bitching about the red hawk and monster point voice
seriously you guys are being such entitled snobs
-
Dude, no. Chill out. We are allowed to have opinions on how the anime is done. Personally? Didn't care for Red Hawk, loved Monster Point Chopper. Saying you disliked a certain aspect of an episode does not make someone entitled. It makes them opinionated, though.

Are you that guy who hasn't read the manga yet?
Have you considered there could be a reason for our entitlement.
This is even coming from someone who hasn't had a problem with most of FI in the anime, because I just don't particularly mind how it's done.Perhaps instead of calling us snobs/jerks/tally-whackers every week, maybe you could just constructively say how you enjoyed that particular episode in question? It would reflect on you a lot better.

As the saying goes, opinions are like assholes.
Everyone has one and some can be full of shit.

I liked the Red Hawk. I loved how it played as a tribute to Ace's Hiken, showing both back to back. I think I know the reason why some didn't like it. In the manga it came off as a gigantic explosive cannon effect, while in the anime it was played off as a fiery bullet piercing though Hody. It may have been stylized like that in the manga, but I think the anime pulls it off better since the name 'Red Hawk' is the name of a type of pistol, and what do bullets do? They pierce.
-
I didn't really like the rapid flashing between Luffy and Ace during red hawk. I think it would have been better to just start it with Ace and finish it with Luffy, because all the changing made it look weird and unnatural. We got the "tribute to Ace" thing the first time Toei, you don't need to do it 2 more times in 2 seconds and completely destroy the fluidity of the attack.
Although, I kinda liked Monster Chopper's voice. It fit well enough, and its not like they could do something else with it, since we've heard it before already when he yelled.
-
This was one of the better episodes recently. I was very happy with the pacing and it had me wanting more, something that hasn't happened recently with the anime. I hope they continue to stay at this pace, it's nice.
-
The monster voice is pretty weird sounding but I woulkdn't expect it to be any other way really. And Luffy's Red Hawk looks so much more boss in the anime.

I knew there would be backlash after posting this.

"That guy who hasn't read the manga yet" You act like if I were the only one who hasn't read the manga (I have by the way), most one piece fans are anime exclusive. It just seems to be the manga fans who are more vocal about it and visit the websites. I cant help but feel you said that in a condescending tone, although this is only text so I have no way of telling. I gave the manga a shot after that episode with Sanjis reveal of geppou and his new attack. I read all the way to
! The part in Punk Hazard where Doflamingo was revealed to be Joker and the Strawhats were imprisoned, which was the latest chapter at that time. and honestly the anime is leagues better. There were some parts of the manga I thought were really cool like when Oda does one huge page and its just crammed with details and cool shit, but that's about it. If you really want to pursue that topic I can go into it in extreme detail, although I'd rather not.
Every week? Are you kidding me? You must be confusing me with someone else or you have a very poor memory or maybe you just like to make up things. I've only made a comment about people expecting too much thrice (including this time), considering I've been here since June 18th, that's not a lot. The first time me saying that people nitpick, and the second being me telling people to chill out about the complaining that luffy pushed zoro and sanji before he used haki.
Yes, people are entitled to their opinions, I never said otherwise. My original post was mine.
I was only addressing the people who had nothing but negative comments and complaints when I talked about the bitching. For example on the first page someone was saying oda was pitiful, another going to great lengths to try and prove the attack wasn't done right because the fire (or steam as he said) didn't look like it did in the manga, or the guy saying Redhawk was rushed, or the guy saying monster choppers voice was awful. As I read the thread I actually liked your posts because you weren't being all bitchy like everyone else while still addressing what you didn't like. You seem smarter than most people here, I really shouldn't have to explain this.
I say they are entitled because these posts remind me of those facebook drama queens who post a bitchy status like "my mom is so fucking stupid she got me an iphone 4 instead of 5 fml". Its like every week someone is giving them a present and all they do is point out what they don't like and not even say thanks like a spoiled kid, as if this anime has to be absolutely perfect.
Oh and don't patronize me with the whole "it reflects you a lot better bit".

As I said, I never claimed you couldn't have an opinion, I was stating my own. In fact, you saying "Dude, no" seems somewhat hypocritical because you are telling me my opinion is wrong indefinitely. And I',m not angry, so you don't need to tell me to chill. This is something I said casually as I was going out to the gym, I wasn't even thinking about it after I left my house.

You're certainly allowed to have an opinion, but voicing that means you're open to criticism. Posting some two-sentence swipe at people who are complaining and calling them entitled is a good way to not endear yourself to others. Granted, you're clarifying right now, but still, you basically called anyone that disliked the way Red Hawk or Monster-point Chopper an entitled snob. So, yeah, I'm gonna call you out on that because making broad generalizations is never cool. Everything seems in hand, though, and seems like it was just a misunderstanding. That's cool, then. We good.
-
Be warned, this is one of my more non-courteous posts.
I was only addressing the people who had nothing but negative comments and complaints when I talked about the bitching.
Half your posts are you complaining about a lack of blood in the anime. Everyone has their own pet peeves, so get off your high horse you "entitled snob."
For example […] another going to great lengths to try and prove the attack wasn't done right because the fire (or steam as he said) didn't look like it did in the manga
Ahahaha, that was me. Do you realize that I've said multiple times in this thread that I really liked this episode and I still liked the way Red Hawk was done as well? What kind of tinted lenses do you read things with?
I had one issue with the episode, which I said didn't even ruin the attack for me in the first place, let alone the episode. I was challenged on it, and I defended it (which was an argument I got too distracted from to ever finish unfortunately and I don't really want to annoy you sensitive types by dragging it back up again, oh well). It's not bitching, rather it's a simple debate. Anyone who confuses the two are bound to think we whine a lot around here I suppose, but some of us just enjoy a good argument about a series we love. I've experienced some great ones on this forum. In case you didn't realize it, "gee, I'm really thankful I got to see One Piece animated again this week" doesn't make for a very interesting debate, so all those types of comments tend to get lost in the shuffle.

I just got done reading a gigantic thread in its entirety, and am bored, so…
"That guy who hasn't read the manga yet" You act like if I were the only one who hasn't read the manga (I have by the way), most one piece fans are anime exclusive.
You have absolutely no proof for that. What's your sample size? Going by both ratings and manga sales, One Piece is extremely popular both in anime format and manga format. It's the best-selling manga of all time, so … unless you want to backpedal and say you were talking about fans from wherever you're from, which I could forgive. Still, short-sighted of you. The onus is on you to prove an unsubstantiated statement like that.
It just seems to be the manga fans who are more vocal about it and visit the websites. I cant help but feel you said that in a condescending tone, although this is only text so I have no way of telling.
It was certainly a condescending tone matching your condescending tone; I'm glad you gleaned that.
I gave the manga a shot after that episode with Sanjis reveal of geppou and his new attack. I read all the way to

Honestly, the manga is leagues better. Repeat ad nauseum. Listen, while some people need to be coddled with repetitive music, washed-out colors, and that whole package (though I will give the anime credit for wonderful voice acting), some people prefer to see the crisper art from the manga, coupled with expressions exactly as Oda intended them. Also, you get wonderful pacing (again, you would only know this if you read other manga; there's no reference point if you don't).
But that's just, like, my opinion, man. I watch a ton of anime and read a ton of manga, and for the amount of cash Toei has at their disposal, I'm wondering why it can't look like certain other series from far less profit-bearing studios that have long-running series.
There were some parts of the manga I thought were really cool like when Oda does one huge page and its just crammed with details and cool shit, but that's about it. If you really want to pursue that topic I can go into it in extreme detail, although I'd rather not.
The details are, indeed, one of the perks of the manga. Oh, and speaking of details, freakin' cover stories! I'm so glad the manga gives me insight about freakin' space bou- oh nevermind.

Ah, sorry. I meant every week you posted here. I'm saying you need to chill out about chilling out about people complaining. You can complain about people complaining, but that might result in me complaining about you complaining about people complaining. It's an endless cycle which is likely to not result in any changed opinions or sudden epiphanies.
Yes, people are entitled to their opinions, I never said otherwise. My original post was mine.
I'm tired and have no idea what you mean by the original post being yours? What original post?
I was only addressing the people who had nothing but negative comments and complaints when I talked about the bitching. Compared to a lot of the people here I'm not very smart. You should hang out in the bottom 5 subforums (General, Anime/Manga, Media, etc.) They have tons of smart people. But yeah, I try not to bitch too much. I realize this is a morning cartoon and not on prime-time like it used to be. Though I will never, ever understand Japan's high tolerance for what they can show on morning cartoons (the stuff they show on One Piece and Hunter X Hunter would make some TV-14 shows in America weep).
We don't want perfect, but just want it to do the manga justice. You'll notice this forum is mostly manga geeks, first and foremost. There's not nearly as many anime topics as manga. Honestly, almost all of the One Piece's anime's problems would be fixed if… A) Toei cut the amount of OP movies they produce in half (like Oda has asked...), B) adopt a schedule similar to America, but B is unfortunately not possible. You gotta admit though, even with all the money they have, going week after week after week until the end of time, the anime is really quite decent quality. I still would very much like it in the hands of Madhouse (if they had the budget), though. You should watch the Hunter X Hunter (2011) adaptation if you haven't. It's a perfect example of how to go above and BEYOND the source material, though I'm sure your response to this will be that the OP anime already does that, and it's perfectly OK for you to think that. I used to until I started reading the manga weekly and started getting a feel for how the panels were presented, how much was actually packed into them (shirt logos, background characters, spreads, color covers, cover stories, all that jazz). Though I will completely confess to thinking the anime up to Skypiea was better than the manga, for sure.
Oh and don't patronize me with the whole "it reflects you a lot better bit".
I don't understand how that was patronizing, but OK. That was just advice, that I'm sure you're fine without. As nonectra said, blanket statements are never, ever, a good thing. Avoid them at all costs. You calling everyone who didn't like certain aspects of the episode an entitled snob is a way to certainly receive the backlash you mentioned.

This episode was by far my favorite, and the fight between Luffy and Hody has just become my favorite fight. For little more that his homage attack, and I desperately hope to see more of it!
