@Silverblade:
Thanks.
Keep them coming guys, even the unnamed ones should be put on the list.
Not sure but the guy wearing that "teardrop" hat reminds of Dr. Fishbonen…Anyone else agree?
@Urouge:
Hmm, the chapter was fine, but not one of the better ones in the arc I don't think. Mostly due to some confusion.
- Honestly, it probably wasn't until the third time I looked through this chapter that I realized the top half of the mountain lands back in place in the first panel. There were a lot of things I was having a lot of difficulty explaining until I realized that. Mostly where the gas was coming in and where it wasn't, and why it wasn't a problem in certain areas. I had serious concerns about this chapter before catching that. I'll admit that it's my fault for not looking closely, but Oda also takes some blame for not supplementing it with a little supporting dialog, but rather giving us "the ceiling is floating up" from Sanji after the fact for some reason, assuming that translation is even correct. It might actually be past tense, which would mean all my complaints instead go to the translators.
Nice catch! I've reread it but didnt' catch that
At first I was miffed that the outer walls of the room seemed to be in tact, but that was before I realized that everything came back together again pretty close to where it had been. But what bothered me more was the lack of killer gas entering the room. But now I think I understand. To put it simply, the D block is in the back of the lab, and as such is likely dug into the mountain itself. Cutting the wall exposes it to the mountain, rather than to the outside air filled with gas. So it makes sense. I also find it interesting that the room is going to blow up, so I guess the SAD must be unstable or something. I suppose that's what really explains Law's 2 hour time limit.
I thought Nami & kids, Sanji & the G-5 were in D block? Wherever they were the gas did start to come in..

OR is D Blcok where Luffy & Caeser is?? makes not to go find map of where characters are….
- I really like Usopp's speech there at the end. Oda does a good job of balancing his character between cowardace and bravery, with slow but steady progress. People also seem to get the most out of him when they insult Luffy in some way. He has absolutely no hesitation about facing all of them in order to get to the switch if he has to, but he's also trying diplomacy first. His days of being a liability seem like a distant memory right about now. I'm sure he'll still have those moments, but I expect a better balance now.
I have to agree. Usopp has his moments of the old self but he's doing a better job than what he used to do in overcomining the fear so he can act. And yes, people insulting Luffy seems to a strong ..incentive… for Usopp to react, and defeat them. Laughing at Luffy is what drove Usopp to finally find a way to defeat Ms. Merry Christmas.
That pose where Usopp's pissed at them for "insulting his captain", in a way it reminds me of Ace
