I finally finished Voyage 5.
Man, those were two of the worst commentaries I've ever experienced. I don't know what Jerry Jewel was thinking choosing two unknowns who voice unimportant filler characters to do commentary on two lame filler episodes, when there was an abundance of plot important and character important episodes on this set. Nor do I know what Mike McFarland was thinking letting Jerry Jewel do the commentaries at all. It's clear he's not too strong in that department.
Imagine how cool it would have been to hear R. Bruce Elliot and Brandon Potter over the Whitebeard/Shanks episode. Or Brian Mathis and Bryan Massey in the Garp/Dragon episode. Or any of the Galley-La foremen on the conclusion of the story arc. What we got was fluff on two filler episodes.
If we don't at least get commentary on the Ace/Blackbeard fight on the next set (the ONLY canon episode on the entire set), I'm going to have to seriously question the sanity of the person at FUNimation who makes these decisions.
we might get one with mike and cole brown doubt they could get Travis to do one tho
