I'm really annoyed at myself for how little I've come to care for redrawn version…
Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)
-
-
Bang mankes me thing Jirou from Toriko.
-
I'm enjoying it for what it is. Then again I don't have any baggage in the form of the original, since I never read it.
-
I don't have any problems yet because I'm still patiently waiting for when they reach the parts a little bit further ahead.
Enjoying the well drawn ride until then. -
-
LMAO, I love King.

New chapter
https://tonarinoyj.jp/episode/3269754496572306855?s=09Why doesn't the actual chapter show for me when opening the page? :(
-

Its simply better. At least for me. Redrawn version became what One was making jokes of and thats unfortunate.
Ones art is terrible compared to Muratas version but I am much more eager to see new Webcomic chapter than what we are getting in redrawn version. There is something genius about Ones version that redraw u fortunately did not capture. So in stort- its fantastic read, give it a try Razh..
-
Yeah! I still enjoy One's version more than this. It's humor rarely get transferred in Murata's version.
-
I thought Genos knew about King being a fraud. Why would he think he'd fight?
-
What the hell happened to this scene, I just saw it and it looked awesome but it seems to have been taken out of the final cut
!
-
Probably a future panel that was uploaded by mistake (that may or may not become canon).
-
Wouldn't that be a discarded panel of a past chapter instead ? Fuhrer Ugly and Gums are both alive (or were until just before that panel) and Ugly hasn't degenerated into PuddleOfVomit-man, neither of which matches the current timeline.
Or, it's another incoming redraw of the redraw. :getlost:

Man this screams fan made, a good one but still.
-
I'll probably read the first version once the second is finished and maybe I'll complain about the differences between my original version and the new one.

If it’s fan made whoever did it is a damn good artist

ONE PUNCH-MAN 197 RAW
-
Ok, I have to say one thing first before commenting on this chapter. I usually really, REALLY hate characters that are weak but get mistakenly seen as strong. I hated Mr. Satan in DragonBall and I sure as hell hate Buggy the Clown in One Piece. And whenever I see a character like this pop up in a series I instantly hate them. To me this is the most annoying character type that can appear in a manga series and I just wish it would go away. And then there is King, he's awesome! Honestly, with everything I've just said before I should dislike that character more than annyone else but they way how he's written in both the original webcomic and in this just never fails to crack me up. It comes down to two things, King himself never wanting this attention and everyone else just being utterly dense in terms of understanding the real King. With other series I usually just want the entire world to see the characters for who they really are. With this I just want to see the next installment of why a character thinks King is the best. Good stuff.
-
While I don't hate such characters myself, I MASSIVELY agree on your reasoning for why King is the best in his field.
It's so hilarious because he's not TRYING to fool anyone.
He's just been stuck on a rollercoaster of misunderstandings ever since he was accidentally credited for Saitama's pre-hero work,
and no matter what he says or does he can't get himself off the ride. The misunderstandings keep coming.
He's some poor regular guy trying to stay out of trouble, and all these monstrous opponents and fellow professionals shit bricks around him. It's certified comedy gold, and King will always be my favourite character.
One of the best scenes was when Atomic Samurai tested him with the apple.
The bullshit meter was beyond broken in that exchange, and I loved it so much. -

One of the best scenes was when Atomic Samurai tested him with the apple.
The bullshit meter was beyond broken in that exchange, and I loved it so much. That was exactly the scene I had on the back of my mind when writing my previous post. That's some next level whack logic right there and shows how brilliantly this entire gag is actually written. Like what the actual hell is required to pull that kind of brian gymnastics to even think that was a proper analisis of said situation. It's easily one if my favorite momenzs of the entire manga^^
-
I have to admit, I was laughing my butt off when Homeless Emperor was flipping out over King's perfectly innocuous comment.
-
Mark my words: King will end up as a reality warper once he breaks his delimiter.
-
King is the only reason I still enjoy the overall plot.
Like, I'm mostly here to look at artwork from a god-tier artist since the novelty of One Punch Man wore off quickly for me after season one, but King still works really well and is now basically the main character in my book.
-
-And finally, the myth, the legend. My favorite part of the webcomic. HE has appeared. ….but too soon and prematurely...
whole rant
Lol well played Murata and One, you got me. Next chapter is gonna be a blast.
Or.. a burst I guess. -

So I just checked and it appears this is another spoiler from the webcomic..
Thanks for the spoilers I guess.. doubt I will visit this thread again, too many people casually bringing spoilers here
-
Wonder if black sperm's design inspiration was Majin buu from dbz. Including his multiple transformations so far it seems that way

Admittedly at the time of writing the post, I wasn't sure if it had been adapted yet or not.
But that's also why I was deliberately vague and omitted details.
I just said there was an apple and some bullshit. Not a lot to go on there.Since you couldn't remember the chapter, it was probably a good idea to give me more time to answer your initial question,
because I'd have been like "that's from the webcomic, sorry. Got carried away talking about King."
If anything, my momentary lapse and your impatience both have blame in this. Also, "too many people"? Bruh, I think this is the first instance in a long ass time that anyone has mentioned anything webcomic outside of a spoiler tag,
and it was a vague description of a gag scene at that. Come on now. -
I feel like that poster was just being dramatic. The wiki is leagues worse at spoiling things than this thread is.
I hope mrs word/mr sword doesn’t come back. -
While redrawn by Murata version of OPM is more of a shonen-very light seinen in tone I enjoy it as it is.
If I would need to choose one, I would say that Ones wersion has more "wow factor" for me even with its art though as volume reads redraw is pretty good as well. I have all volumes and 22nd if I am not mistaken with redrawn Phoenix Man fight was really good even though I disliked at first idea of that Kamehameha attack from robot being cut out, what we got was also cool and made much more sense.
Anyone else buying volumes?
-
With how often chapters get re-drawn. I can honestly say I don't remember much of what's going on. I just like the pretty pictures and gags.
-
Ok, I see you Murata… I see you... this chapter was actually good stuff. Wasn't expecting Platinum S, he looks so cool, like some Jojo character mixed with DBZ, and King really cracked me up! My hype for OPM is actually slowly coming back!

Why dont you use time you used for whining here to read like 3 chapters of webcomic? ;) Its awesome, worth time for sure. And we are like in like 60% of webcomic right now in redrawn version? Plenty to read and have fun instead of complaining over very little spoilers here and there
-
A lot of people liked OPM better when it was a full on parody and aren't as interested in seeing it change into what it parodied. I can't say I don't miss that older OPM, but I think it's just unavoidable. Tvtropes calls it the cerebus effect. It's pretty much impossible for any show not to start building it's own world and mythology, which has to be serious somewhat unless it's just a complety silly chaotic comedy show where nothing matters and we don't care about anything. Besides, no matter how serious OPM gets, it will always be rendered moot in the end in one punch.
I just see this as a natural progression for a parody show, it usually starts to become what it's parodying, which doesn't have to be a bad thing. The joke would eventually become stale anyway. OPM pulls it off amazingly I'd say. It has loads of diverse characters with equally diverse and interesting movesets and constant impressive feats of one-upmanship. To me, not only is OPM actually much better at being a legit, seriously hype filled battle shonen than anything around right now, but it's still hilarious at the same time. That's a hard line to walk but OPM does it easily (though it does slip up rarely, like that overly serious mercenary dude ech).
Imagine creating characters with silly designs and even more ridiculous names like 'watchdog man', 'homeless emperor', 'fuhrer ugly' etc. and still making them threatening and hyped. Imo nothing embodies this more than a character with such an absolutely stupid appearance and name like 'black sperm', who somehow still manages to be hype as hell, with the constant giant power one-upmanship that makes shonen so fun. Imagine as a reader, having to call a character 'golden sperm' or 'platinum sperm', who looks dumb as shit, but still somehow being invested in and hyped for him. That's basically current OPM in a nutshell. Monster association is easily OPM at it's best for me.Started out parodying other shows, then showed them how it's really done without becoming any less hilarious.

Or just not discussion of the other version info about the future in here since they made a thread for each version.

Its unavaoidable if you continue the story. There's always the ability to stop. Of course that time is long pass. But I dont like when story satirize something then do it in earnest. To me it means the story lost its points.

! Those panels with god?? They were amazingly scary and unsettling! I've got the chills! Was god on the moon just Homeless Emperor's imagination, or is he really hiding behind the moon? The moon looking like an eye because of Saitama is such a cool sight!
