Nintendo of America Nintendo of and Europe have announced the games are going to be released in America and Europe in Autumn of this year. It's definitely rare when a Pokemon game releases in the US and Europe the same year they are released in Japan.
Pokemon Black And White 2

-
Yeah i'm pretty surprised they are being localized so quickly. Hopefully Pokemon will continue to be handled like this in the future. Not that it would really matter much, but maybe in America and Europe they don't want Black 2 and White 2 released as high profile DS games so late after the 3DS has launched.

Nah, its usually a 5 or 6 month gap… just usually the Japanese game launches in fall and the american game next spring. If the Japanese game launches in June (as opposed to September or October like it usually does) then the game hititng stateside in "Autumn" (anywhere between September and November) is about normal.
Same ammount of time between them as usual, the japanese game is just coming out sooner than usual.

Here's some idea that I'll think improve my post game experience.
-Get rid of that lousy time limit thing in Black City/White Forest. I lost all my good stores because I turned on the thing one minute after midnight.
-Lower the costs of battle items in Battle Subway or increase the amount of BP you get. It does not make sense that these things can take so long to get when I could ask a hacker to make the items.
-Re-fightable Gym leaders that give you the option to Doube, Triple or Rotate(different tactical setups too).
-More moments where you run into the Elite Four outside the league. Like the ones that visit Cynthia, but more interesting.
-An Audino slaughter houseThat's it.
-
I want Blisseys in the wild.
They would be so juicy under the new exp system that Audinos would become chump change.
(And they also have really high odds of carrying lucky eggs.)
-
If only Explosion wasn't nerfed, I'd one shot those things in the wild any day.
-
Oh man, leader rematches with the option to double/triple/rotate would be the best
-
More story would be nice. Its 1 of my major complaints with all Pokemon games, thjat there isn't much to do. Yes in G/S you had the Kanto region but that offered little in the way of story other than fighting gym leaders. Platinum was a big improvement in that side quest on Stark Mountain with the remenants of team galactic…..
-
i hope you can go back to sinnoh. I know almost everyone says that with new pokemon games but it would be pretty cool

http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/35915/pokemon-black-and-white-2-trailer/ trailer. Not that exciting though. Basically an announcement trailer
-
@Schwerer:

Yeah. That's the thing I dislike about Pokemon games. They give you all these Pokemon that have moves or potential that's strictly for team battles, yet there's only so few trainers or "tough trainers" that challenges you to double, triple or rotate. As much as a classic singles are, I'm more of a double battler and make all my teams with teamwork in mind.
If anything, choosing game modes upon starting new game or during ingame would be an even better idea. Like… You can choose the conditions for every trainer/gym/league match by changing the options (Single, Double, Triple, Rotate) in the menu.
-
Yeah, I was really excited when they announced wild double battles would happen this time around, really motivate you to develop a teamwork set… and then all the double battles are in a special grass strictly off to the side that you never have to actually walk through. And triple/rotation only happen like, twice in the whole game? In the post-game at that.
I understand they're scared of breaking the winning formula, but... that extra bit of strategy and teamwork would be nice at this point, 15 games in.
Also, while I appreciate the entire "HMs are only needed for side quests, you don't need an HM slave to get through victory road" and "There's a doctor at the midpoint of EVERY dungeon to heal at and level up around" made the game easier... but also took away some of the challenge and resource management. Gotta keep the kiddies in mind, I realize...
However, infinite TMs was brilliant and motivated you to actually try the new moves, and its impossible to go back.
Just... offer a hard mode guys. Or a new game+. Let you restart the quest with everything in the box so you can do the story and gyms again... with monsters that don't appear till late. Badge limit would still keep you from using disobedient high level monsters to cheat with, (and you'll have played through the game anyway so...)
-
I've only triple battled once in all my time playing Pokemon White and it wasn't even my choice.
-
@RobbyBevard:
"There's a doctor at the midpoint of EVERY dungeon to heal at and level up around"
I really hated that, it made the game way too easy for me.
-
By the by does anyone have a Deoxys for trade? or can trade it over so I can get it's Pokedex info?
-
yeah. It won't be an official deoxys but that's ok right?
-
I thought the doctors were fine as they were conveniently placed.
It's far away from the thing that made the game easy.
If anything it's getting the Lucky Egg early and easilly getting "shacking grass" for Audino that made it easy.
But I'm not complianing.
Those grass spots made looking for rare pokemon less random(still random, but less random), unlike the previous games where you just run/swim around for numerous encounters and hope. -
yeah. It won't be an official deoxys but that's ok right?
Yeah that's fine.

Will this be for giving me Pokedex info or are you trading me one? And would you like anything in particular in return or for your Pokedex?
-
Yeah I didn't really mind the doctors and other healing NPCs. And I'm not quite looking for a challenge either, even though some sort of NG+ hard mode could be neat.
Just… gimme more in-game Triple and Rotation
Also get the lead out on whatever movie shenanigans have to happen before we get the last three pokemon :(
-
Doctors were a godsend because it saved so much time lost from annoying backtracking to the Centers.
-
If you had to backtrack, it meant your team wasn't strong enough, or you didn't buy enough healing items and repels… or you weren't brave enough to try and run for the exit.
Resource management is one the hallmarks of rpg strategy. In any game where you auto-heal after every fight and have all your magic restored, it takes away the management and loses something.
Nothing inherently wrong with that, some games make every fresh battle a challenge and you need to be at full health to pull through any given fight, but... especially in pokemon where you have elemental rock/paper/scissors, there's something about taking along your best critter for the area, and then starting to worry as they start running out of their key move, or diminishing in health and being close to fainting. You lose that when you know there's a free heal close by.
-
I understand all that I just don't really care. Pokemon isn't something I devote serious RPG strategizing to so if they wanna slap a dozen doctors and nurses in my path all the better.
The mechanics of raising competitive teams alone is enough to make me laugh off anyone who calls Pokemon a KIDS GAME anyway.
-
I see Doctors as no different as using a Tent and moving on.
-
Hey guys, sorry but does anyone have a Mudkip for trade at all? Or could anyone tell me if it's possible to add one to a Black/ White pokedex so I could search the GTS for one? Many thanks!
Edit: Yay I've got one!
-
Yeah that's fine.

you can keep it, i won't use it. If you could send me either the grass or fire monkey or swanna/pre-form that would be cool. If neither of them then scraggly but they would be best

Alright I have a Simisear is that alright? A little later I'll send a pm or something when I'm avaliable to do the trade.

Question. I never played any game in Gen 4. How is it?
Upon battling Cynthia and learning a bit about E4 Catlin, I'm sorta interested in the games now.
Don't ask why.(that theme) -

Don't ask why.(that theme)They're alright. In my personal opinion though, they are the weakest of the games. Get Platinum and don't bother with Diamond and Pearl unless you want to complete the Dex without doing as much trading.
-
Question. I never played any game in Gen 4. How is it?
Exactly like all the other games. Couple decent critters (I love Shinx) but nothing too exciting.
And harder to go back to now that there's 150 more critters not running around the landscape.
-
I liked Gen IV pretty well. It gets a lot of shit for having a billion legendaries but that was sort of the whole point of the region. Plus Cyrus is a pretty rad villain.
-
As long as it does not feel like R/S(which made me quit the games till BW), it's fine that it's exactly like the rest of the games.
If only these games didn't take forever to lower in price or grow in value as time goes by. -
If you ever want to ignite some R/S love in your heart dig up its arc in Pokemon Special sometime. It won't enhance the game but it'll damn sure make you look more favorably upon the generation overall.
-
I'm reading through Pokemon Special in bits and pieces around now actually. If anything, they made me appropriate the Pokeverse better than RBY(or any media similar) did.

New Meloetta forme in B&W2?
Guess that was just fanart, but I guess there's something about it being in B&W2
-
@Schwerer:
New Meloetta forme in B&W2?
It already has two forms and its still unreleased. A third one being added seems reeeeally unlikely.
-
So does a direct Pokemon sequel
Oh wait…
No but seriously I dunno. I wouldn't count it out but I made the post before I knew it was a news header using fanart.
MyNintendoNews plays me for the fool

I really don't understand the hate towards R/S/E. It's actually my favourite gen and introduced my all time favourite pokemon (Blaziken).
Regardless, I'm excited about this because its something different so I don't know what to expect. -

It was a huge step down from Gold/Silver in terms of scope and stuff to do. The games since have had only about as much to do… but it came after the best game in the series. Its hard to go back to 8 gym leaders after you've had 16... and the terrain and monster count of two games combined.
-
I don't think it's that. It's just the places. Locations. Everything just felt dread of life. Every new area I found myself running around in the grass catch a whole bunch of Pokemon to see what was cool enough to end up using. Unfortunately I got nothing out of it aside from the starter, a few one-time-only Pokemon, a crapload of water Pokemon, and 2 HM slaves for the sakes of having around and not really "use". It was an overall unsatisfying experience and I'll never replay the game ever again.
BW totally changed this. I'm not sure what it was, but I found myself switching teams all time throughout the journey because there was something interesting to find in almost every Route. Not only in design, but also in terms of usefulness. Most of which didn't really need to be a Pokemon with a nasty low encounter rate either.
GSC having two regions was just a bonus…. Infact, I find the whole Kanto portion of the game dreadfully boring as there wasn't much going on there. On the good side, it was nice to see what how the region has grown since the RBY era. Still does it save it from feeling empty though. I remember playing it as a kid and feeling sad that so much changed and it just wasn't the same Kanto I remembered.
-
I thought ruining the rival dynamic was a pretty sour point too. Opposite gender person who never throws down with the final starter evolution and some sick kid who runs at you once or twice.

Regardless, I'm excited about this because its something different so I don't know what to expect.I don't hate it but its definetly the games I like less, the art style was diferent somehow to me, maybe I'm wrong but I disliked a lot of the Hoenn pokemon at start, I got used and eventually started liking a lot of them after watching the anime or using them ingame, old pokemons weren't available till Emerald, Colloseum and FR/LG came out.
A lot of stuff went wrong with the first games imo but I enjoyed them just like any other game its just the one that is clearly the worse imo.
DPPt was nice though same with HG and SS.
Oh yeah and like Hiroy said, probably the worse rival ever lol…
-
Personally I thought Diamond and Pearl were the low point in the series.

Post-game dragged sometimes but otherwise I loved it

I don't know about D&P, but Platinum was the best pokemon game I played after silver. For some reason, it appealed to me even more than Crystal ever did, which is kind of weird knowing how soulless and empty many of Sinnoh's towns and routes felt.
If you apologise the use of the word, Cyrus was a cool villain.

I loved the moment they added in Platinum where he gives that big speech and then essentially tells you his followers are all a bunch of easily duped morons.
Plus I thought DESTROY THE UNIVERSE AND RECREATE IT WITH MYSELF AS GOD was a pretty rad villain goal.
-
I liked Generation IV because I felt the journey around Sinnoh was long and meaty. Lots of stuff to do, lots of places to go and secrets to uncover.
-
In D/P, Cyrus is honestly really dull; a Maxie/Archie rehash.
Then Platinum made him completely amazing.
Greatest Pokemon villain ever is still Miror B., however.
-
Once thing I loved about Diamond/Pearl were those strange places like the hanted house, fuego ironworks, the pokemon mansion,… I spent a lot of time thinking what was the deal with those places, I even came to think that the mansion owner got the pokemon for his trophy garden stealing them from the amity square he owned in hearthome city.
