Btw, Barashima's voice is evidently totally synthetic, he has to type out what he's saying on that keyboard of his. I'm guessing that's going to figure in to the case somehow
Ace Attorney 5

Crapcom gonna crapcom
still, better then aa2's fate.
They said outright it was digital or it was nothing. Chris Svenson basically said "If we didn't localize it people would moan about at least releasing it on eShop, we're merely skipping that drama."
-

I think that's to demonstrate Athena's Heart Scope, his synthetic voice doesn't betray his emotions, but his heart does…
He's probably a terrible liar when he speaks normally!
well anyway. I'm glad it's coming out here and i'm glad we will be seeing these two again
! So glad Edgeworth and Trucy are back! Do I wonder if Maya will make an appearance?
-
Edgeworth looks like his dad, wow.
-
According to somebody in CR, Edgeworth is now Chief Prosecutor.
-
It's not hard to brute force.
Present the elephant toy at Barashima's first statement.
Pick the green happy face.
Pick the blue sad face.
Present the broken tail. And that's it.
thx for the tip.
-

And skipping the problem of some retail stores potentially not wanting to carry it like the first game.
-
This looks fucking fantastic.

Cornered!

Mood Matrix!
-
Dat cornered guitar.
-
I love the arrangement of Objection 2004. Sounds very dignified.
-
Apparently, the new detective is said to be hot-blooded, but will try to help the Defense if he thinks the situation gets too one-sided against them.
-
Ten bucks says that Gumshoe is now chief of police.
-
This tends to be much more prevalent on consoles due to most not really bothering to hardly ever lower the price or giving bad sales compared to the PC. I heard Sony was pretty good with this as far as PS+ goes anyway.
Part of this bad habit started when retailers threatened to not stock games if digital prices even dared to be lower than theirs. And from there on publishers just kept this up as a habit.
-
@Cyan:
Ten bucks says that Gumshoe is now chief of police.
With a salary lower than minimum wage ^__^
-
With a salary lower than minimum wage ^__^
As of Edgeworth Investigations 2, Edgey finally gave him his first raise, so he might be at least minimum wage now
-
Pearl & Klavier were in the new direct video today. Psych lockes are back as is that body language thing Apollo uses.
Also
-
Nuts. I'd hoped that the Feys would be left out of this. Good to see that perceiving's back though. I felt that it was sorely underutilized in Apollo Justice.
-
I hated the Perceive mechanic though, it's too tedious and hard
-
Why are they still called "Wright Anything Agency"?
-
I hope they don't focus too much on fanservice.
-

I struggled for about a week Perceiving Spark Brushell!
! Never thought to look at his 'pits!
-
I didn't think the perceiving was all that hard, really. An Easter egg hunt, if anything.
Perceiving Kristoph Gavin's twitch made me jump. Didn't expect that.
-
Since it wasn't posted before, here's the trailer:
Seeing this makes me think that the English subtitle refers to a schism between Phoenix and Apollo.

Oh god this I actually got stuck on this (In my 2nd playthrough for god's sake).
Why are they still called "Wright Anything Agency"?
Well with all that downtime they'll have between cases they'll need the extra money :s
-

That would be pretty cool IMO. Also from what I'm reading about this game so far, it's looking very good! :)

After watching this trailer with the subtitles my body is more ready than ever. I just love this series and we seriously need a bazillion of sold copies so that we get more sequels. Yeah, people hate if something gets too many sequels, but come on - this series, as long as it had Phoenix, was always pure quality!
-
Always pure quality, except for the fucking clown

People hate it when they're too few sequels.
-
Admiral Apollo will dispense BURNING JUSTICE
Also ten bucks on the prosecutor actually being innocent
Always pure quality, except for the fucking clown
The most contrived and idiotic case in the series bar none
-
Ohhh that's what he was reffering too.
-
Looks like they're backpeddling on the jury system! WTF
1.The Length of Dual Destinies is about the same as Trials and Tribulations
They wouldn't specify on the amount of cases, but he said that it would have roughly the same amount of content as T&T and would take 25-30 hours to complete.2. The Jurist system will not be returning.
Apparently the Jury will not be returning. No details about how that plot line changed at the moment.3. Sam Reigel is officially back as Phoenix Wright
I think we guessed this already based on the English trailer, but the man who voiced Phoenix in Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is returning as Phoenix.4. Simon Blackquill is a convicted prosecutor who uses psychological manipulation on his opponents and the Judge.
Again, something I think we already kind of knew, but it's been confirmed.5. The recurring Stepladder joke returns in Dual Destinies.
Eshiro confirmed that the Stepladder joke returns in some form, but that the players have to find it for themselves.6. Maya hinted as a returning character? (No denial of Maya)
When asked if Maya would return, Eshiro simply said something along the lines of "I wonder about Maya…", being deliberately vague. In light of his response to the question about Gumshoe, this seems to indicate Maya will return (as if we didn't know that already).7. Detective Gumshoe will not be in Dual Destinies (Most likely)
When asked about Gumshoe, Eshiro said that he didn't know what Gumshoe was up to these days, and another Capcom host said something along the lines of "Well, you can't have every character come back in every single game". This means that Gumshoe probably won't appear.8. Simon's Detective is named Detective Fulbright.
Fulbright's motto is "In Justice We Trust!". Fulbright is immune to Simon's psychological manipulation because he's too oblivious to know Simon is trying to manipulate him. -
Guys, guys! A psychical copy of Ace Attorney 5 CAN STILL HAPPEN!
-
I added my comment! here's hoping it plays out.
-
Japan's eshop demo anime intro:
I really hope it becomes a 26 episode anime in the future.
-
^ You won't get 26 episodes, you'll get 12 capped off with a gainax ending and like it.
-
Sooo…
Did anyone already see this video? A guy plays the english demo of the first case in Ace Attorney 5. There's some breaking of the 4th Wall jokes and we see the new emotion mechanic and HOLY CRAP DOES THIS LOOKS GOOD!
Only Phoenix's voice sound weird... Is someone else screaming the OBJECTION stuff now? -
Yeah, they definitely changed Phoenix's VA and/or redid the soundclips. The emotion stuff does look pretty good. Just hopefully it doesn't turn out to be too simple to use like Edgeworth's logic in AAI.
-
-
There must be a "Fuck you!" red text bubble now.
In all seriousness I imagine the rating is due to everything being 3D and anime cutscenes now instead of just 2D illustrations, but still looks weird after every other game got T and I really doubt this game will have content that's that much more gory/risque than before.
-
They're going to turn Trucy's magic panties gag onto its head.
-
I felt that this ought to be shared. Credits to hasfarr on CR Forums.
!
-
I guess this explains why the game is only available in digital form.
To a game like this, a M rating would be death for retail versions.
-
There was actually another released video clip, showing off Blackquill:
Huu huu, they renamed the hawk Taka.
-
Blackquill's OBJECTION involves Taka attacking the defense.
-
Reposting from The Capcom thread.

This isn't the reason the game is digital only. In Japan the ratings for the other games have jumped all over the place even in japan the fifth game's rating has apparently gone above the norm which is a C whereas the others were A & B's.
-
DLC Case confirmed! We get to defend a Killer Whale.
-
Well, we've already cross-examined a parrot, so I guess this is the logical conclusion.
I wish Capcom has announced a solid release date at Comic Con so I know how long I have to dodge spoilers for. The game's only been out for like twenty-four hours and already I've been hit by one. Though at least it went a ways towards explaining the M rating…
