In the silhouette that person is wearing the coat so it isn't Apollo because as we all know, in Japan everyone who wears a coat on their shoulder doesn't ever put it on even in the coldest of weather.
Ace Attorney 5

I really doubt Apollo's the silhouette. The hair doesn't match up at all, for one. The coat might signify that they're part of the same organization though, whatever that may be.
yeah the hair as a silhouette is basically "it could be anything" but it looks short. I could see it maybe vaguely fitting into slicked back long hair, but the real reason to post the picture is just god pls apollo as a prosecutor would be too hilarious just let it happen
Hell I'm sure whatever happens period will be hillarious
Apollo's failure as an MC at capcom's hand is just too goofy
if it's an organization tho and there's multiple guys with that coat, Apollo could be the first prosecutor who gets beat up before being replaced by some other guy.
A fitting end for the poor shmuck.
-
I'm glad to see he's back, I just want him to be redeemed in this game at least. I really liked him in 4, but he just got stuck in the spotlight as "the rookie" nearly throughout the whole darn thing, and to have Phoenix come in and steal the show.
-
I too am glad Apollo is back. I wouldn't like to see him as a prosecutor tho. I'm assuming he got injured in the bomb explosion, maybe his injury is what encourages Phoenix to get back behind the bench. Maybe Apollo can take the same role Hobo Phoenix took with him in part 4.
-
Any word on if and when the rest of the Ace Attorney games will be comming out on IOS? I bought the first game on my iphone and would love to play the rest of em.
-
Anybody else finds it suspicious that the coat is conveniently covering the spot in his vest where his Attorney Badge should be?
-
I don't like Apollo Justice. I don't like how AA4 did away with a lot of the characters from the Ace Attorney series with absolutely no explanation. Which is why I'm glad Phoenix Wright is back for AA5, but disappointed that there's still no word on Maya or even Edgeworth.

They'd be fools not to include either, so they're definitely coming back.

I wouldn't put it past them. I mean, this is Capcom we're talking about here.
-
I'd rather they didn't bring them back unless there's a really, really good reason for it. One issue I had with Investigations is that some of the old characters felt rather shoehorned in (I'm looking at you, Ema).
-
edit: wait i misread what game you said l o l it ain't time for an apollo justice rant today
-
How was Ema shoehorned in? She was the detective. That's a major role.
-
I meant in Investigations when she appeared for all of one scene during the third case. I do fully expect her to return as the detective in this game.
-
wait she was in the first edgeworth game
Ha…ha... I don't even...remember...
-
She was in the second Edgeworth game, too. Yeah, she was a bit shoehorned in. That's nothing compared to how Larry is shoehorned in literally every case he's in lol, it's ALWAYS a coincidence he's involved

Does Edgeworth even need to return? He already starred in 2 spin-off games. It's not like people miss him unlike Phoenix and, hell, even Apollo. If they need an old prosecutor for whatever reason, then Klavier does the job just fine.
Maya is different, but the chances are slim due to the existence of a new assistant.
The point is, Capcom should stick with new characters and/or characters introduced in AA4. Investigations already does the job of bringing back old faces anyway.
-
Maya will return as a badass competent seeress and village leader, not as an assistant

I don't think too many people wanted to see the return of Wendy Oldbag, Mike Meekins, along with Manfred and Ema in largely meaningless return roles. And to chime in on the Apollo speculation I wonder how Apollo being a prosecutor would work with his bracelet and all.
-
Wendy Oldbag spoiled my reading rhythm, I enjoy watching scrolling text. Might just be an autistic thing but regardless I enjoy it. Her text moves at a speed even I can barely follow, and I have lightning manga reading eyes. Eyes which are like the sharingan but make me less of an overhaxed gaylord. Who else did I get disrupted by their speedy text? Oh yeah that motherflipper, the arsehole student. Not the one who looks a little like a dandy era crossdressing lesbian from Trials, but the one from AJ who seems to be wearing graduation gi as everyday clothes.

The official site been updated with a fair bit of new information, so might as well share:
The game's main prosecutor has been revealed: Jin Yugami. He's the silhouetted figure from the trailer and apparently he's a convicted murderer (who will probably be found innocent by the end of the game, I imagine) who's been called back to prosecute against Phoenix. If you poke around the character pages you'll see that yes, Apollo is also playable. The premise for the second case seems to be him and Kokone visiting/investigating what looks to be another oriental backwoods town.
It bears repeating, the series has translated to 3D incredibly well.
-
I hope that falcon attack people.
-
Awesome!
Apollo will likely be playable in the first case, alleviating the need to make Phoenix look incompetent for the sake of new players.

But then Apollo would look incompetent
-
It's already confirmed that Phoenix is the attorney for the first case. Those shots of Apollo in court are from the second case.
-
But then Apollo would look incompetent
And him still being a "rookie" that would be less of a problem than Phoenix "litigious mastermind" seen in Apollo's game being a dummy that needs everything explained to him yet again.
EDIT: Not that it'll matter, apparently. Thanks Crossword.

Here's the Japanese boxart:
They all seem to like ties.
-
I like me a girl with a tie
-
me too. my favorite is a half windsor knot.
-
I like the new prosecutor, but how's he going to point "Objection" in handcuffs? Will he do it with both hands? Or will the falcon be like an assistance animal?
-
This Fall. Download only.

Still think they shoulda pumped out Layton/Wright first, Layton is hugely popular and then the Layton fans who are looking for a new title in a few month time would be all 'oh hey! It's that other guy! We could get his game while we wait for a new Layton!'
but of course in my mind that would be a sensible thing
-
It'll be worth it if this game paves the way for Investigations 2 to have a digital release.
-

Obviously in Capcom's marketing or whatever section's mind the best thing is to release a game within the worst scenario possible for it; if it's a sucess, IT'S A HIT! MAKE A SEQUEL! If it's not a sucess, just burn it with fire. Okamiden's release just next to Pokemon's back then is one of the biggest proofs to this shit.
Anyway, the fact that it can be downloaded makes me interested on having a 3DS to buy some games now. I just hope that the connection doesn't end failing many times while I try to download it, though. And since you guys seem to be "against" it makes me wonder if it's a good thing. -
Huh, they seem to be going with the same voice actor from Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
Nice to finally have an English trailer.

Like £40.00 on release where as most places will sell the game for a tenner less than that
-
I don't care about the details, I'm too happy that this one will be released here!
-

I don't mind this since I want this game a lot more than the crossover which some of us have been waiting years for. I do admit though digital only sucks but after remembering what happened with FE:Awakening I don't mind just hopefully by then I'll have space for it.
-
I'm fine with it being digital as long as it's reasonably priced. The reason why I aint bothered with Fire Emblem etc digitally is because it's £10 more to do so. Sometimes more. Digital price for Animal Crossing will be £40 when regular is £25.
-
Good to hear it's coming though I guess this means we'll never get another physical release. If it's a success, it's because Capcom's wonderful digital only release was a success. If it doesn't do well, it's because people don't want Ace Attorney anymore.
-
wait, digital price is MORE than retail in some parts of the world? what the dicks?
I bought FE digital because I don't want to pay 10% sales tax.
-
Sigh AT LEAST its getting a release..
I hate whole games taking up space on my systems so SO much… -

I don't think that people's intrest in the series has peaked so far, even with the divisiveness of the 2nd game and the lower sales of the 4th game and the 1st spin-off.

This tends to be much more prevalent on consoles due to most not really bothering to hardly ever lower the price or giving bad sales compared to the PC. I heard Sony was pretty good with this as far as PS+ goes anyway.
-
well anyway. I'm glad it's coming out here and i'm glad we will be seeing these two again
!
-
So glad Trucy and Edgey are back! All reservations GONE
New trailer!
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Play the online demo!
-
It can't be said enough: those animations are amazing (and pretty much confirm that Payne's brother is going to lose his hair too lol). The new Cornered theme is baller.
-
Kokone/Athena: STFU PAYNE, Phoenix a' win this in TEN MINUTES
Phoenix: Uhh please don't just declare that–
Judge: Wow, if you can end this trial that quickly then I'm thankful. This is a timed trial demo after all.Lol I missed you judge
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Judge: Ah, the return of the legend! The man who penetrated through to the truth with bluffs and left the court devastated in his wake!
Phoenix: When you put it like that it makes my "legend" sound like a bad thing... -
too bad i can't read japanese otherwise i'd finish this demo

It's not hard to brute force.
Present the elephant toy at Barashima's first statement.
Pick the green happy face.
Pick the blue sad face.
Present the broken tail. And that's it.
