As it has been mentioned many times already I think Bellamy is going to win his block. I think he evolution/upgrade will be the difference.
I hope so. I'm, surprisingly, rooting for Bellamy's redemption. The way Oda "redeems" his villains is a hell of a lot better than the cliche "Piccolo route".

Second I can see him doing a "Cobra", that is, faking being hurt/ko-ed and going to the infirmary to investigate things from the inside while everybody is focused on the fights. Yes I know, it's not really like Luffy… but it would be cool.

Hmm, that was a weird chapter to be honest.
I agree it was weird with so much focus on Bellamy and this touranament shaping up to be such a big deal when i really shouldn't be. But it wasn't bad and i like that Bellamy changed a lot so eh, it will hold me over till next week.

Could Bellamy be secretly working with Law? Like a spy? If he becomes a high ranking member he will most likely be shown where the factory is. He might not know that Luffy is working with Law as well. Him fighting for Dofla would be the perfect cover. Even if Bellamy loses he might be key in finding the factory.

Nice buildupchapter, I always loved Bellamy as a villian character and Jaya one of my favourite arcs so this quite a lot of fanservice for me.
In any case, the buildup for this tournament is excellent so far and I hope the quality increases even more once the actual reasoning behind all the participants are revealed.

He said he lost a few men, not a Moria type situation.
And we knew that Skypieans killed since the first second the crew arrived there. They were instantly attacked by Shandians and then Gan Fall mentions about how people are killed.
And shoudl the skypieans not protect themselves from pirates? Especially types like Bellamy and his crew.
Maaaaan, instantly loved Bartolomeo! For one second I thought Mr.5 died and he ate the Boom Boom Fruit with that bomb scene after he poked his nose.
This chapter sure felt slow after the last one with so many things happening, but it was pretty good in its own way. And for some reason I always like when the mangakas give the official romanization of the characters names, and this chapter gave a lot of them. For the next chapter, though, I hope we spend most of the time seeing other SH group and come back to the colosseum only in the last pages to see Block B is about to end with just 2 or 3 guys standing.

I don't remember. I just recently had someone argue on this forum to stop calling Cavendish and such a supernova because he/she believed it only applied to the worst generation.
Which it obviously doesn't. It's a term for big-shot rookies over 100 million bounty in their early career.

Bellamy is almost OK now; still have not warmed up to him, but good to see he had a persoality change and a new outlook about dreams or legends.

Luffy should be fine in the first round.

Heck doesn't it just sound like not a single person has a weapon. So luffy should be able to just punch and kick his way through round one without any stretching involved. Plus any without Haki will do zero damage to him.
Hell there is only 1 swordsman in his whole block, and that is Lucy.
Now I will have to look back at pics of them full size to see what weapons these hitman, martial artists, ect have, but just based on the description before their name it feels like no one relies on weapons.

Er anyway, we get to see Baltoromeo, and he is one bad dude. The rugged design, throwing "bombs" into the stadium….definitely one of the more dangerous competitors of the tournament.
The biggest surprise, however, is Bellamy. (first off, is it me, or did he get really taller?). Not only does he know Lucy is Luffy, but.....look at what happened to him! Doflamingo gave him another chance, he went to Skypiea and got some gold.....and now he said he won't laugh at Luffy......the heck?
It's interesting, wouldn't you say? How did he get there? What happened to Sarquiss and the rest of his crew? I suppose actually going to Skypiea opened the guy's eyes and we went "I….was wrong.....it.....exists....!", probably changing his anti-dream perspective upside-down.
I liked the pages where Oda described each block, he's got a handle on this tournament thing. Rebecca and Cavendish are in D Block, Bellamy and Bartloromeo are in B Block, and Lucy's in C Block.
However, the chapter still felt a tad short.....not to mention, where is Doflamingo in all this???
But I am curious to see where Oda's going with Bellamy. Redemption? Who knows?

For him to have gone to Skypiea makes sense as it probably made him realise how stupid he was to laugh at Luffy (more stupid than being knocked out by him). I think this has ignited a change in Bellamy where he's now looking for the answer (the truth) and has turned to Donflamingo for that. But Luffy will most likely defeat Donflamingo which I think will open Bellamy's eyes even more when it comes to dreams and ambition. Using Bellamy could be useful when comparing Luffy's ideals to Donflamingo's (which were introduced way back in Jaya, not for no reason).

So Supernova is not a term for the over 100 million guys belonging to the "Worst Generation" but a general term for over 100 mil rookies

That's how Supernovas were always written. Written as "supernova", read as "rookie". Even with the first set of the 11.
If you look closely at the block pics… You can see only 4 people labled as pirates, who it seems has the most chance to win. No "fodder" is labled as pirate after all.
Block B = Bellamy & Bartolomeo... One of them will move on
Block D = Cavendish... Only Rebecca has a chance to move on, but I think if Cavendish won't be stopped earlier he will win.
Block A = won by Jesus, a pirate
Block C = contains one FORMER pirate and Lucy aka Luffy who of course is a pirate as well :amuse
So the old guy probably will give the mos "trouble" for Luffy

There are no swordsmen. That is a mistranslation. The term is "gladiator," but it happens to have the kanji for sword in it, so they keep screwing that up.

Look at him sitting down in this picture. If you imagined him standing up Luffy and Zoro and Nami would be at near his waist level, which is how tall he was shown in this chapter.

I was starting to think, holy shit Zoro needs to join up this tournament, he would be jealous on all teh swordsman he would miss out on.
But then again Zoro is starting to become like Mihawk and I can see him seeing half the swordsman "if there are some" in this tournament to not even be worth fighting and tell them so.
