I agree with Bartolomeo, we need some reveals.
But hopefully, not for Sanji, even though I care about his current storyline to some extent, I still care about the others more.:L

I don't think we'll be hearing from the others for a while. From what I believe, with this chapter's ending, we will see the events of Block B next week. With probably something from the Marine side of things.
-
You guys are crazy, I'm way more interested in the Tallest Intelligence.
-
I'm interested in everything ¯_(^^)/¯
Then again I am one of those people that likes everything Oda does and can only think of a few minor things in the story that I kind of don't like.
-
Hopefully there will be block B, Zoro and CP0 in the next Chapter. That are the topics I am most interested in.
But on the other Hand I think it is more likely to go from the last mentioned topics to the most important one the tournament. -
Ooh - what if the the tall CP0 is a Longlegs. I don't think we've seen Longlegs.
-
You guys are crazy, I'm way more interested in the Tallest Intelligence.
I'm with you. I doubt these guys are here to check on petty tournament entrants. The WG seems to have bigger fish to fry like protecting their ancient secret, super weapons, the age of piracy and the people who influence others into taking up piracy. It really does intrigue me what these guys are upto. This should build up to a plot point that will be fairly important to the One Piece world, or even the inevitable Straw Hats-WG confrontation, although not on an end-game level… atleast I hope it does.
I also love their masks. Especially the dude wearing the crazy tribal looking mask on the right.
EDIT: On second thought, maybe they want to start something between the various pirate crews present in Dress Rosa at the moment? There's even a couple of people representing their kingdoms, so something to that effect? But that seems too crude, not to mention dull by these guys' standards... Bah, whatever. No point over-thinking it. Will just have to wait and see.

Having marines that we didn't see in the war like Vergo, Maynard, Yarisugi and Fujitora open a few important questions IMHO.
- Did we really see the Navy's full power (or 90% of it) in the war 2 years ago?
- Do marines move in OP's world within limited areas they are appointed to? (like working in New World only, or in Paradise only, or in one of the Blues only)
- El Bearduardo for Nakama (irrelevant) -_-
No we didn't, they have bases in the New World that needed to be manned as well. You also have to consider the agents from the WG as well.
@Dan:
I think that while it is clear the WG did not have 100% of their power present at the war, it would have been close to it. Something like 80-90% sounds reasonable to me, with only maybe a few high-tier guys like Fujitora (if he was enlisted at the time, which may or may not have been the case) not participating. Beyond Sengoku, Garp, the admirals, and the shichibukai, i can't imagine that they would even have THAT much more to offer.
We know for certain that there were a huge ammount of marines at the G-3 base, that didn't go to the Marineford War. If the Vice Admiral in charge of said base was at Marineford, that I don't know. But we must assume that the all the bases were left with a decent ammount of manpower.

It goes without saying that the grunts didn't come. This is basically a world army here, counting grunts in terms of pure numbers I doubt we even saw 10% of the Marines at Marineford.
But I think what everyone's talking about is higher up people, Vice Admirals and the like. -
well, we had;
fleet admiral and all the admirals at the war, along with over 10 VA and the giant squad (which i think might have some VA's as well)
these were the "big shots" of the war for the marines and then there was everyone else.
Because the Marines are the main force of the World Government, even in war if only against one faction you cant use all of your power because what if another power attacked? so no i dont think they had ALL their force at the war.
On another note:
Personally, i think the VA and Admiral positions are bottle neck positions.
with the admiral position the only promotion (known) is the fleet admiral position and you can only have one of those. The promotion for a VA is admiral and even though we havent been told its a max number, we know its a limited number as before the time skip there was only 3, and before that we knew of 2, and currently we only know of 2.Because of this, it will give way to the biggest range in power for the VA. its possible to have people in the position who are just high ranking officials but not necessarily "strong" i.e. spandam being the director of cp9 and someone who may be eligible for a admiral rank (and possesses the power) but either havent been offered the position, someone who denied the promotion (garp) or someone who can get promoted later on (fujitora "maybe")

I'm pretty sure that Fujitora is a former Admiral and Sakazuki call him extraordinarily for this job. He belongs to the old school Marines HQ, and by the time of MF, i was retired wandering in New World.

I haven't posted in awhile, but I have a question. Does anyone think the new power the Marines received was Jewelry Bonney making formal Admirals, VA, and the Gorosei younger? That would explain where Fujitora came from (even if he is old) and Akainu appearing to look younger (at least to me).

I do like this idea that he is a former admiral, but I think the reason he got called back into service was because Akainu needed to relieve some internal tensions.
I mean, Aokiji couldn't be the only one who had an issue with Akainu becoming top dog. Fujitora was probably a compromise pick to mollify that branch of the Marines since he seems very against Akainu-style justice.

I think I figured out how Luffys identity will be revealed. If Kinemon surrenders and gets knocked out or goes unconscious somehow or whatever that happens to him- then the disguise he gave to the Strawhats will disappear and turn back to stone or whatever he used to form that disguise, guessing this will happen around when Luffy beats a strong person up(Daimente? Or in group C? Don't know) and the crowd goes "who's that old man? Why is he so strong?" Then Luffys beard and blackhat poofs n turn back to stone with Luffy going "oops".

2, even assuming this scene is 100% accurate… so what? All of the CP-0 guys are wearing masks. You don't see their actual faces.I kind of like the idea that this is the same guy. They have the same brimmed hat, extravagant overcoat style and are both 'big shots' in the "government". Not to say that necessarily means anything, but it is interesting.

this is an assumption, whether it turns out true or not, at this exact moment its still an assumption; you dont post assumptions as facts and what i said was just a description and said "maybe" he fits the description.

I was just thinking it up since we have so many new unexplained VA and two new Admirals. For Oda to give the Marines a new found power as well as to use Bonney it'll be perfect. It covers why Akainu wanted her, the new Admirals and VA, Akainu looking younger, and the new found power. It was just a thought. Only time will tell. If I am correct on my prediction remember where you heard it first, and if not I'll slowly fade away pretending this theory was never brought up.

Actually I brought that up back in thread for chapter 700 but not a lot of people went into it since they said that they don't see him young at all but it is a possibility and it can also be linked as why Bonny is not being held by the Marines/GOV, I mean Akainu captured her there's no way in hell she will escape that guy so she may have giving a free pass thanks to her services but in an island where the Marine/GOV watch over her and there was when she got the chance to escape since I believe they won't place an admiral or VA to watch over her.

if that were the case wouldn't we have seen Garp stay young rather than grow old and complain about it?

Could be wrong, while an interestingly refreshing idea, but on SA when using her powers against the marines fodder didn't the ones turned into kids, also start acting like kids?
My point being that besides Bonney herself, if the ability makes/ reduces the target to either the equivalent mental faculties, or bodies condition of their peak, or even both; it probably wouldn't even be worth it, any of these 3 ways.
Look at it this way, if they have the younger bodies but still need to train it to get as experienced/ sharpened/ honed as their older bodies were, the change becomes a detriment.
If they have younger 'minds', possibly even lacking in memories of what happens "later", or for instance Akainu is as stubborn, short- sighted as he probably was in his youth, the change becomes a detriment. If part of 1, or both occur; the change becomes a detriment.
If none occur, even before that, would this "new Akainu" trust "Bonney" that much?
I think I figured out how Luffys identity will be revealed. I wouldn't hate it, it would a nice change for the 1 time Luffy acts according to plan, some1 else's actions screw it up for him.
I don't know if it will happen, but logically if a situation arises in which Law and Fujitora talk to one another.. if Law were to explain to him that Luffy along with his crew are going to take down a Yonko, this would be better for the government. Either they take down one of the 4 most dangerous pirates in the world, or they die and two really strong up and coming crews are not in the way. Most Admirals would be for this, the only one that I can see being against it is Akainu, since the guy is obssessed with taking down Luffy and wouldn't look at things the same way. However since Fujitora is there and it's his choice, I can see him allowing Law & Co. leave on the deal that they Kaido down, if Law bothers to mention who it is they are targetting.
Lots of ifs and buts obviously, considering Doflamingo is soon to play his cards and things could certainly turn upside down for Luffy and Law.
@Buggy:
I think the governments view is exactly opposite. Like it has been mentioned before, they don't want the 3 main powers disrupted. It keeps the world intact. After the death of Whitebeard so much shit happened..I doubt they want some kids taking over by killing/defeating a yonkou and having a repeat. If the news gets around of Kaidou being defeated, more chaos in the world and more problems for the WG & Marines.
In that case, the Marineford War should never had happened.
It's true that the WG tries to keep the things intact, but only when it comes to the Shichibukai and Marines, which they have control over.
The chaos that ensues when a Yonkou falls is a natural consequence that eventually goes away.
That's just it though; the government has been preparing. They should then know if something changed, it would/ could be like dominoes falling 1 after another. As the saying goes "Nature abhors a vacuum", which can be expressly sen with how quickly BB takes WB's place. This would mean having to move before they were necessarily "fully prepared" And not to mention Luffy/ Law + Kidd/ Hawkins/ Apoo alliances, he sent people to gather intel, if on 1 probably on the other as well. The biggest reason for that is what they could do,and you have a Yonkou vacuum possibly created by them themselves, with you ( WG/ Marines) not knowing why, or what's their next move…
Similar to what Buggy D. Clown put: If they're thinking ahead at what might, or could happen at all when making this decision, don't think they would want that...
Yet at least. There's just too many variables they can't control yet. Give them even a couple of weeks or so...
And Who knows exactly what they're preparing. What are your predictions for the next chapter? I hope it'll mostly focus on one group.
Technically we might be done with Zoro for a while, unless Oda makes Zoro able to communicate his thoughts thru picture, without conversing to any1 to do it. It seemed like after the landing the fairies had gotten away, even if Zoro saw them, unless something about their faces makes them easier to track, don't see them getting caught yet, until Zoro's lost now maybe, and wanders into their crazy secret hideout, surprising them all(But could see that happening in about 5+ chapters).
Would like to see more of Sanji's situation, but think till they actually get to their target might be at least a chapter or 2 so nothing from them either.
Who's on the ship could be revealed.
More with Kinemon's situation could be shown.
Maybe a bit more with Robin, Usopp, Law coming up with a 'partial' plan or the chapter ending with them encountering those fish things.
Might be good to get a lot with Franky and the toy explaining the location of the factory, part of his situation, and part of why he acted the way he did.
Finally the tournament, could see skipping to next chapter with the Bartolomeo reveal, or at the tail end of this chapter(just think it's big enough Oda might intentionally tie it into the break, to leave more of an impact), But unless Cavendish is there, don't see any reason lot B shouldn't end similar o Lot A with Burgess. If Cavendih is there, can see him expressing rage also for Barty stealing his thunder, then getting beat within a chapter.
Government forces continue to begin for their move.
Possibly a little with Luffy realizing, or recognizing something.
Part of me wonders would they even go in completely in order, like something happens and for some reason D goes before C,Oh and also possibly a DD member begins to show some signs of what DD's plans are for the tournament, or we see DD making his move, plotting, something.

yea, the rear admiral position is the lower of the admiral positions. rear > vice > admiral > fleet.
also below rear admiral is commodore and i think captain is before that.
and X drake, the supernova was a rear admiral before he left the marines as well.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
on the whole bonney thing, while its an "interesting" idea i think its highly unlikely. some of these df seemed to be reflective of the user's state of being. i.e. van der decken passed out and his powers stopped working. so if bonney passed out or died her powers could stop working reverting the other ppl back to their rightful age and making it even more important for her to be forever locked up... or even better killed and have her df powers given to someone else (if they can find it)

Like I always said before- I don't think Bonney DF is the type that stick, her DF is probably more like Shiki, Ain, Van da Decken, Kinemon(probably)etc, when the user lose consciousness or die then anything they used their Devilfruit on will return back to normal. What I think though.
-
The thing about Bonney's fruit that gets to me is that the real mystery is if there's an in-between or restriction for her ability, we've only seen her revert herself and others to either a child or to become very old. Is it even possible for her to actually pick the age for whoever it's used on, or is it how it's been shown?
I'm gonna spoiler this for those who haven't seen Film Z.
! To me (even though Ain isn't technically canon), her ability seems more suited for the theory of de-aging World Government and Marine soldiers. But, even then it's kinda pointless because of the restriction.

This may have been proven to not be the case on Punk Hazard.
His lower half was submerged making his powers useless, but still everyone had the jackets he gave them. Also, I may be alone in thinking this, but I got the impression he was unconscious during that time because Brook, Zoro, and Sanji stepped on him without a reaction and it wasn't until Sanji booted him in the head real hard that he actually came to.
