Any idea where can I find the JAPANESE raw? When I look for the raw the only results are the chinese ver.

! The Bishokukai sent Chiyo to deal with Setsuno. And a whole bunch of really dangerous beasts.
Ah right of course. And Elg was sent to deal with Buranchi and Jerry Boy sent specifically to deal with Aimaru. -_-

Obviously not. But if you look at what happened during Shokurin Temple arc you should know Chiyo was meant to fight Setsuno sooner or later. And consider that Chiyo was meant to be be physically on par with Setsuno, and possibly someone who could earn the title of "Gourmet National Treasure".
Moreover before Joa and Jirou arrived we knew Setsuno was the strongest character in the stadium, so we could think it was useless for Ichriyuu to send someone of the 0th Biotope to guard the chefs from Bishokukai kidnapping attemp. But Kousairou went. And we know Kousairou is one of the strongest members of 0th. Still Zaus needed the help not only of Kousairou but of Kuriboh too to be a match for granny Setsu. -

Chiyo is no where close to that level. Setsuno toyed with her.
2. Star is the Bishokukai's second strongest combatant pre monster cells awakening. He held back a lot against Toriko and is one of the select few elite powerhouses on the island alongside Zebra, Setsuno, Jirou and Chiyo that are capable of wasting the entire island if they don't hold back. He could very well pose a problem for Setsuno, Joa even stated that it'd be difficult to injure him even after his fight with Toriko and with him guarding Komatsu.

The public Raws will be out tomorrow as always.

The author clearly implied this. In terms of physica power she's at Setsuno's level. Setsuno was toying her because she's more skilled in other features, plus she had the pressure like power.

Joa seems to have some kind of power to "taste" the power of the people around him/her. Plus he/she said something about Starjun and Gourmet Cells genetics so Star could have some hidden potential.
About the difficulty of hurting Starjun, that was after Star "blooming". Furthermore Joa said it could have been difficult because of top level fighters like Jirou and Setsuno who could attack him/her.And of course, Starjun was holding back a lot during his fight with Toriko but this doesn't change the things. Starjun could still be the second strongest member among Bishokukai maybe only for his potential.

! So out of all those awesome places where Acacia's ingredients are located in, which ones are you interested the most?
-
! The starry road, both landscape and combat wise. I really wanna see Kuromado´s ability. What if he attacks with his stache, or his hat hides a cannon or something…
! Ok I need to sleep. -

good set up chapter, hopefully it will be executed well, focus on bishokukai members is always appreciated
also there are still some unnamed members whot tagged along, all of them were on the spread a while ago
the one right to Dores, the two next to Kaitora and helmet guy next to Kairu
and that tiger octopus is terrible -
well to hell with your guys negativity, I love the giant tiger/octopus
can't wait to see some of these fights
got to say if Zebra hadn't defeated three niotos like they were nothing bishokukai would seem a lot more intimidating having an army of them
okay so i see a lot of people are doubting Staa's being number 2 in power, I can understand because it's just sprung up and if we make a linear power level scale (which I know so many people hate) it doesn't add up, but there's very few times you can dismiss what an author puts down in writing, usually that occurs with fodder talking about there boss or untrustworthy characters like say Buggy or Usopp where it's obvious
Joa is known for having all sorts of info it's pretty clear the authors intent to label staar as 2nd most powerful, unless there's some nuances in the Japanese kanji relating to latent potential
we saw that zebra when first introduced was already powerful enough for Raap to say it would be a tough fight
and though sani got his ass kicked he did manage to hurt Yosaku before he had intuition, food honor, appetite energy or his new hair, so I think it's very clear that the four heavenly kings, well not the most powerful guys in the world are now truly in the upper tier fighting level, along with I'd say the sous chefs
this is what I don't get… if Staar had to put his life on the line when fighting Toriko, but zebra's like a million times stronger than Toriko than the power scale levels (I know people hate this but bare with me) look like this
Toriko < Staar < Zebra = (or close to) Teppi < Yosaku
so now Yosaku based of this scale would be stronger than anyone in the bishokukai but midora
so either
A: I'm really really not understanding the difference between Staar and Zebra
or
B: Teppi isn't in Zebra's leauge
or
C: The author really didn't plan out this power scale thing well -
C: The author really didn't plan out this power scale thing well
This. And I'm not even basing this on people, just the power levels of the Beasts throughout the series itself shows that Shima doesn't have a good grasp on how to up the ante up the scale.
I mean, the whole Toriko training arc was all about showing how raw power itself isn't as useful as being able to adapt to different environments or using that power to its fullest potential. There's a fair amount to be annoyed with that particular line, but it's main purpose is to just make clear that Starjun is still going to stay relevant unlike say Tommyrod whom Shima decided apparently has done all he could with the character, which I can understand for both characters. And in Tommyrod's case, better to leave on a high note anyways.
As for the chapter itself, fatigue of fighting still there for me. But like I said, if the execution was handled better I'd be plenty excited for these confrontations/worlds, and even now it's still kinda cool to see these matchups (anybody still wanna take bets on how this flashback will play out)?
And I'm on the side that Shima has done better animal designs, but that octopus/tiger is still pretty interesting as a design.

One last thing. The names for the rest of the Full Course are dumb. Only reason I'm not ANGRY is because I was just imagining how Nick and Chris on weekly manga recap will respond to the silliness of those names. Also kinda a shame we know the location of Atom since that was something Coco was looking into during the Meteor Garlic arc and even was brought up during the 0th Isotope meeting so having a general location now is kinda disheartening (though I will say, Kousairou was tasked with finding the location. Coco's biggest lead to finding Atom was to search for Joie. And I'm hoping people remember Kousairou is the long beard guy that ended up being in Neo too which I thought was kinda clever).
-
well to hell with your guys negativity, I love the giant tiger/octopus
I do as well; it's the goofiest damn thing I've seen in this series.
B: Teppi isn't in Zebra's leauge
My guess is that Zebra would probably squish Teppei like a bug in a straight-up fight, but Teppei's techniques level the playing field a bit.

1. be a cold day in hell before Chiyo deflects a slash from Joa. He'd fillet her. There isn't a single one of Chiyo's attributes that come anywhere near Setsuno.
2. Joa didn't mention anything about "potential", he just flat out said that Starjun was the Bishokukai #2.

I´m actually interested about the location where Atom is supossed to be. It´s not your regular landscape. It´s a weird shaped road. Maybe it´s not as easy as going there and getting it. Maybe that road has some mechanism or code you have to solve in order to be able to get to the ingredient. I can only imagine that if it were a regular road, it´ll have to be a very long road, as to make Atom nearly impossible to obtain. Maybe just walking or even running that road, takes months or even years.
-
Thanks Kewl.
Hmm, I don't dislike this but remember that we had a similar set up at the Cooking Fest and we skipped all of Coco's fight so…..Shima, please for the love of God, channel Kubo for a bit and just focus on every individual match, and no one will be mad at you anymore for the stuff you pulled in Fourt Beast Arc and the begining of the previous one.
Just.....don't blow it.

@__choperman__
It's just that when Toriko gets huge boosts from eating food or training, others do the same (when it comes to people who are supposed to be super strong, like the 0 Biotop)
Zebra had a difficulty fighting Salamander Sphinx, which was a 92 CLVL beast. Then it was implied that he could give Rap some difficulty, which would make no sense if Rapp is anywhere near current Toriko's level.
Also if Yusaku is so strong, why go with Teppei to capture Zebra? He could do it all by himself.
-
So Center is missing hmmmm I wonder why, do you think guys that Shima will show us all the fights or only tiger vs dragon clash, there are some cool fights I like to see
-
wow.. this is supposed to be a battle between top tier fighters and the main forces of good and the bad guys but it feel really anticlimatic and tame.. most of the characters feels disconnect and doesn't really have a proper development to invest to… but I really hope Shima will deliver this magnificently and the fight will have much less useless unimportant one time only fake science/rules and less like Toriko vs Tommy at Ice continent..
-

1. Please, check the image I posted before you quote my message. It's ok for Chiyo to be quite weaker than Setsuno overall, but I was speaking about physical power, and that's what the manga says.
2. Well, about this maybe you're right, but, again, Joa seems to have this kind of power to sense the strenght of the "taste" of everyone, so this could be for Starjun too.About the chapter, I love it. Now I hope this will open to great fights. But this could be only the beginning of IGO-Bishokukai confrontation. I think in the end Midora has "only" deafeated Ichiryuu but he was saved by Melk and Atashino.
The places I like the most are Stardust Road" and "Food Region Forest".I miss Master Chin, I doubt he's still recovering.
I think Kuromado has some kind of spider abilities.
I didn't think Boneless and Kairu were Head Chefs.
What about Yosaku wanting to ask something to Kaitora? They're both saiseiyas… -

What about Yosaku wanting to ask something to Kaitora? They're both saiseiyas…When exactly did Toriko witness Setsuno's full strength?
It doesn't make sense. Setsuno is far above her in every category. Zaus' sword barely scratched her face, while dealt a fatal blow to Chiyo. Kousairo stealing 10 million calories of Setsuno had absolutely no affect on her, while it did weaken Chiyo.
Setsuno was playing with her through out their entire short fight. If Chiyo was anywhere around Setsuno's tier, she would've squashed Toriko in their fight.
-
If Chiyo was anywhere around Setsuno's tier, she would've squashed Toriko in their fight.
About this, Chiyo has been nearly fatally wounded by Master Chin. And she said in those conditions, Toriko could be a match for her.
Toriko cannot have seen Setsuno full physical power but she really knows her. -
TBH she didn't look that badly hurt to me. People have sustained far more serious injuries (such as severed limbs) and still kept fighting. You think Setsuno wouldn't be able to easily crash someone like Toriko just because Chinchin beat her up abit?
-
Oh shit, I never thought I would see the day an actual OCTOCAT is featured in Toriko.
-
Midora's pet when was baby.:ninja:

Fixed for you.
Don't lump that white spaces drawing guy with quality manga.

She said Chin was able to injure her near to death, so why doubt it? Think about how strong is Chin instead: he was near to death injury by Chiyo and still he was able to nearly kill her.
-
Finally, I did well in avoiding spoilers.
This is why I wanted to wait before calling a judgement on the past chapter. As simple as the concept of this one was, I can't help but love it. Let's see:
-The places we're shown are very diverse, the ones I like the most are the Stardust Road and the Continent of Beginnings.
-The matchups sound all very exciting, fights like these ones can't turn out bad in Toriko. I beg you Shima, you have to show us at least a bit of each.
-KUROMADO FIGHTING. I've been waiting for this for a long long time.
-Kaitora and Yosaku are totally going to talk about Mohyan Shayshay. For sure.
-I'm eager to see the kind of power a writer such as Melisman can have. Seeing how this is Toriko, I'm expecting great things.
-FUCKING. OCTOCAT. YES.
-This has to be only the beginning of the war, I hope nobody of the 0th biotype dies yet, they are all quite unique in their own way.
By the way, could Grinpatch be Coco covered with a Poison Doll? :I , just kidding, but it crossed my mind for a second.
Pretty excited for the next chapter, don't rush this Shima.
-
I just looked up the scene in the anime where Ichiryuu goes to meet Midora and I have to wonder why shounen anime shun intro boxes so much. Both Dores and Kaitora got introduced like that originaly, but they added extra lines in anime instead to do it for them. It felt a bit off with Dores randomly introducing himself to Ichiryuu. A very minor pet peeve but I noticed that it's a thing sometimes.
(Now there's time when a series that does use them will just not for some reason, and sometimes in rather impotant moments. Like the fact that Sakazuki was the future admiral Akainu was completely skipped in the Ohara flashback for some reason.)
Also related to that, I was wondering if Kewl and co have any kinda opinion on adding/not adding the extra pages from the volumes to the release. Is that just because of time or is it to show support for the official release ?
-
For the sake of plot purposes something bad has to happen to Yosaku, like Kaitora leaving him incapacitated or something. Atashino and Melk on the other hand must survive because their role in this is very important. Warden Love, I don't know, she said she had a granddaughter, so who knows.

I'll state that it feels slightly weird to finish one series of big fights and immediately start another series of big fights.
-
Maybe all the biotype 0 will die, or at least defeated, that's like the end of the old era and the beginning of a new one.
Ichiryuu's death will be like the start of a big flashback where we will see how he became the president, and in the same time we may see his relation with the 4 kings and a big Flashback concerning them…
I can see after this arc we will get a time skip...
-
I'll state that it feels slightly weird to finish one series of big fights and immediately start another series of big fights.
There's always a once in a lifetime.
-
Could it be that Ichiryuu has some kind of relationship with his inner demon that enables his demon ways of fail-safe actions?
We saw Zebra and Toriko going from zero to full with their own ways and as far as i can remember none other than Four Heavenly Kings doesn't show anything like that. If that ability is somehow connected to Ichiryuu, therefore those four have it, Ichiryuu may not be done yet and when the flashback catches storyline he will start fighting once again. This is a possibility that i could go with BUT both for story-wise and power-wise, as things they are right now, Shima decided that Midora is stronger than Ichiryu.
-
I feel like at least one from each group might actually die. I hope not, I've grown a liking to Mega and Ramon.
-
I'm most interested to see Kuromado fighting

B: Teppi isn't in Zebra's leauge

C: The author really didn't plan out this power scale thing wellAnd then there's option D: All the Head Chefs died in the ensuing battle, leaving Starjun as the second strongest in the Bishokukai at the present time.
Don't forget Acacia's Full Course is at stake, whoever wins gets each ingredient.
-
I want to share something a friend of mine realized:
Toriko Bros. I put together Acacia’s Full Course menu and came up with a theory with why these latest revealed ingredients don’t make sense on its own. Now, here’s the list in it’s correct order
- Appetizer - Center
- Soup - Pair
- Fish - Another
- Meat - News
- Main - GOD
- Salad - Air
- Dessert - Earth
- Drink - Atom
Now we’re almost all going WTF with the revealed names for Soup, Fish and Meat, right?
Remember how Appetizer’s location wasn’t revealed until someone in 0th biotope slipped up (or something. I have to reread that, but anyway)
Now let’s visit this again:
Center and
PANGAEA, (The Initials of the rest of the menu ingredients)
I knew that sounded familiar so I looked it up. According to Wikipedia, it was a supercontinent that existed before continental drift broke it apart into the continents we know today.
So with Center and a supercontinent, I wonder what’s really at stake here. It’s not just Gourmet World ingredients that Acacia put on his Full Course Menu.
Someone please take over with this theory. Brain kinda fried after theorizing this part out. -
The Pangaea bit is a bit more clever, and could be really clever if the meaning of Pangaea and the individual ingredients actually fit and have a deeper meaning, but still doesn't make the names Pair, Another, and News any less silly.
That's a really nice find though Skadi!

I think you didn't read my whole post, or get the point
I don't think he's that strong I'm just pointing out the author didn't think up the power levels to well
and no I refuse to Nekkatsu I refuse to believe that the author states your the second strongest and then sevedral chapters later (10 to 20ish) we find out that's because all the head chefs died (and everyone else I guess)
idk why it's so hard for you to accept the author own plain stated words you are number 2 in terms of power, simply because he's a lower rank than the rest, think of him Like the Garp of this series he's top tier in his organization but for some reason he either doesn't want to be promoted, the top don't like him or the most obvious for the authors own convenience
he's number 2 in terms of power I'm not even going to debate this any further, it's like when people said sengoku only said whitebeard could destroy the world at the end of a cliffhanger to scare the marines to fight better… ugh
-
@Gizmo: It was my friend Tygerlander who discovered this :)
I also tried to make some sense outta the first letter of the ingredients, but I forgot to arrange them in Full Course Order :B -
That's a pretty nice discocery! I suppose it would have to do with something about the balance between Human/Gourmet world.

Come to think of it you're right. As stronger as he may be he's still just a Sous Chef, so he must obey his top officers anyway. I'm sure at some point Shima will explain why Starjun isn't Head Chef or whatever. I'm pondering some people's theory that say he may have amnesia and the burn in his face is the reason.
-

The potential question I raised was because I can't believe the second strongest among Bishokukai has to struggle so much to take down Toriko. Toriko is freaking stronger than during Mellow Cola Arc, but still he can't compare to someone like 0th Biotope guys, come on. And ok, Starjun held back a lot his power in his fight against Toriko and still he grew a lot after this, but he himself said he risked his life in that fight (ok, because of Toriko Gourmet Cells monster).
-
Starjun said he doesn't know his limit, that should be a clue. But I also think is a waste of time to discuss about things that won't get addressed for a while.
-
Well, Dores design is beyond cool!
-
I've been reading about chef rankings and I'm a little confused, so maybe you guys know this
In the wikipedia article they just put Chef de cuisine, executive chef, chef manager and head chef together, are they implying that some of these could inhibit the same role or is this the actual ranking? This site
It also says the sous chef is the second in command, so could this be right?Executive Chef/Chef de cuisine > Head Chef > Sous Chef > all the others (branch managers, goons, etc.)
-
Dores holds the highest rank in the hierarchy, yes, followed by Kuromado, Boneless and Kariu along with Alfaro and Sommelier Limon, then the Sous Chefs Starjun, Grinpatch and Tommyrod, and finally the Branch Chefs and the Subordinates like Bei. Niceny is Dores Aid, and I suppose Kaitora being a Saiseyia doesn't hold a rank since his position isn't that of a chef.
