what would u be thinking @ the time seeing the episode/manga for the 1st time???

…Now, I don't really want to start up this argument more than it already is... But in my mind

Kohza = Wiper = Paulie

It seems pretty accurate to me... They're the side characters, important in the arc they're in, fairly-very strong fighters, if you didn't have them the arcs would have to be different... But they're also kinda... boring... They have some sort of simple goal in life (get the rain back, get rid of Enel, pay back Iceburg-san), deep down they're good people... But they have really no personality. Sure, they're getting more interesting as time goes on; Paulie is much more detailed than Kohza. But they still fill the same part in my mind... Which makes me think that, no matter how much people like Paulie, he's still not staying. Once the arc's over, they'll go back to Water 7, have some sort of party, and then leave, he'll stay behind with Iceburg-san. Same happened with Kohza and Wiper...

I just saw the 254 Raw (yes, im slow)
I liked the Voices of the 3 newly added CP9 members (at least to the anime) I think Kumadori is PERFECT!
and I am SO GLAD IKUE OHTANI IS BACK!! hearing Chopper's True Voice Praising Sogeking was Great…
Definately gonna want to see 255 "Luffy Charges! The Decisive Battle at The Island of Justice" Sounds like we'll start to see something! it probabily wont go further than The Mugiwaras, Franky Fam and Galey-la fighting Marines and luffy looking for Robin, but the fights will be good!
Plus, we're getting really close to Gear!

I forgot Chopper got his real voice back. So, imo, the best episode since 244.

Fukuro's voice was rather strange, he sounds so much like a woman.
Jayabura's voice i liked as with Kumadori.
Luffy/Chopper meeting Sogeking was great. I'm so gald chopper's orignal voice is back- i really missed it.
End of the episode was awesomeness. I can't wait till next weekend.

Indeed. The only point I was trying to make is that there is nothing you can use to prove that either Franky or Paulie can't join. I have been for Franky all the way, just playing devil's advocate. ;)

fukurou's voice was good. completely unexpected to me but good.
the episode was very good. (awesome sogeking part)
the opening was excellent! man the fights will kick ass!

Sorry if it's a bit late, but here's my view of the voices:

Fukurou's- funny, and unexpected, of course. Sounds like Louis (sp?) from Family Guy, to me. :laugh:
Jyabura- sounded like how I expected him to sound like.
Kumadori- fits him perfectly. :happy: Sort of expected his voice to be a bit deeper, but it's perfect.

I never heard Spandam's voice before, but it's awsome.

Something tells me by the next episode or ep.266, they'll do that map thing on where the characters are, just like Arabasta & Skypiea.

Oh how I hope to see that happening but I have my doubts there. I already expected that one for the entire Sea Train Battle but we didn´t see it. Skypiea in comparison already showed the map when Luffy, Usopp and Sanji riding the Little Crow were following Zoro, Nami, Chopper and Robin that have been taken away by the Super-Express Speed Shrimp. The Sea Train thing would actually be the exact equivalent, but it didn´t have maps that showed the progress of the two different Sea Trains.

I really hope that I´m wrong on that and that the maps will return. For my personal understanding of the OP anime they are an essential part for the big arcs. I´m just not getting up my expectations to high. :sad:

First, Skipping a Few weeks is a GOOD thing, if they don't they will catch up to the manga faster and they will have to do Filler before Enies Lobby Ends! I dont mind filler, I just hope Enies Lobby ends before they have to resort to filler. althoough, they could probabily filler-up and draw out the fights.
Second, about the Whole "Franky Vs Paulie" debate, NOBODY CAN REALLY SAY!! It's Oda for god's Sake! we wont know till it happens.
BUT if you insist on looking into it, think of both Character's Qualities that Makes them Viable.

Franky:

! Has a DREAM (really important)
Has Several Attacks
being a Cyborg gives him a lot of room for Change/expansion
is a Legendary Shipwright as one of Tom's Workers
Has Had a major Fight.
Has Interacted a lot With the Mugiwaras
is Going to definately end up with a high Bounty (meaning he cant stay in W7
easily)
had a Flashback (not a REQUIREMENT as Nami and Robin both showed, Paulie could get one Later if he joined)

Paulie:

! Is a Galley-la Foreman
…. I honestly Can't Think of any others...
but, no matter how long you analyze it, Oda will end up doing what he wants. you just need to sit back and wait

The new Opening theme is good.

Fukurou's voice sounded very different from what I pictured, but VERY good to his character. I like it alot!

Kumadori's voice was PERFECT to what I pictured!

Yeah.. but he does have stubble. Thus "peachfuzz". I, like many, weren't expecting that, yet kinda like it.

The new opening didn't impress me… but I really liked the animations they chose to go along, especially the fight scenes.

The new ending however, that was good. Plus the cartoonified versions of scenes from the manga.. heh! PLUS CHOPPERMAN.

I was almost Positive he had the Rope Rope Fruit. checks Manga strange. his Rope attacks all have names (IE, his Specialty is Attacking wtih Ropes) but they never say he has or Hasnt eaten A fruit. if not, where do the ropes come from?

O: Pauly's ropes come shooting out of the bottom of his sleeves. Apparently, there's a whole bunch of rope hidden in the lining of his coat! And his move names aren't random! Sailboating requires a whole bunch of different knots, and mistying a single one could spell the difference between life and death! So he uses the names of all the different knots (over 200) for the names of his special attacks!! But when he can't think of a snazzy knot that suits the situation... he'll make it up!

I recall someone saying something about Owl Boy having a "boyish" nature, so I'd say it kinda makes sense. :/

Fukurou's voice was definatley a shock, even though I knew what to expect from people talking about it, but it's ok. I'd like to know if Toei came up with that idea or if Oda had that input.

I think the decision would have come from Oda himself. I don't see why Toei would have given him such a voice if the big man didn't say so himself.

Well, from what I understand from reading a particular article, Oda has control over the main characters voices, but lets Toei do what they want with minor characters. But I don't know where you draw the line with minor and major. So it's uncertain whether or not he wanted Fukurou to sound like that, but I'd be happier about it if I knew he did.

I think that Oda may have intended for Fukuro to have that kind of voice

A fat big mouthed guy with a little tiny voice makes the character even funnier

I think he's a big enough of a character to be considered somewhat 'major', so going by what you said about that article you read it makes sense to me that Oda picked the kind of voice himself. It seems to be too much of a drastic contrast between appearence and voice to be the whim of Toei. They must've been influenced by Oda's opinion in some way.

I know it's been said, but Fukurou's voice absolutely blew my mind. I was wondering what his voice would be, then he intensely opens up his lips, and speaks like a 3 year old girl. It was the last thing i expected, but it was still hilarious

Yeah I finally got a chance to see it; I was taken back abit when I heard Fukurou's voice. He sounds like a little kid who's innocent, but nosy as hell. Kumadori's voice that typical samurai-esque attitude of his, and Jyabura's was good also.

Well I just saw it on Youtube, and all I got to say is, it's good to hear Choppers voice again. And just in time for him to meet Sogeking. I'm so glad that Chopper didn't have very much dialog during the absense of his original voice.

The new episode rocked! It was hilarious when Luffy and Chopper were all amazed at Sogeking. Fukurou's voice was unexpected, but when he and Kumadori were fighting: "dont you chapapa me" it got me crackin up
