Rocksteady not developing Arkham: Origins is no surprise. That was announced back in February, and mentioned one page back.
But considering they're developing the Silver Age Batman game, I take it we won't have any follow-ups on the events in Arkham City left hanging?
! Hush looks like Wayne and went on to do whatever he planned to do, Scarecrow's out there planning something big with fear toxins, Harley's pregnant, Azreal's message about Gotham's fate, and so on.
Would've been nice to see all of those unfold in the next Arkham game.

- Takes place on Christmas Eve.
- Gotham City itself is the setting for the game.
- Black Mask is the main antagonist who's placed a bounty on Batman's head. They know he's not a very popular villain, but decided to choose him.
- Several super villains are after the bounty.
- A good chunk of the police are in Black Mask's pocket, the rest merely think Batman's a criminal threat.
- They opted to do a prequel as to not step on Rocksteady's toes if they were to do any future titles in the series.
- Rocksteady IS developing a Batman game.
- The same freeflow combat system that was in the Rocksteady games, however Batman is younger and thus not as skilled in combat.
- The Batwing will be a fast-travel option, but not actually be controlled directly.
- Predator mode from the previous games is still there.
- A new Just Cause 2-esque grapple claw to chain enemies and objects together.
- Batman can use this to string up heavy and explosive objects, then sever the line with a batclaw when an enemy is within range.
- The game world is split into two different areas, Old Gotham and New Gotham.
- Map double the size of Arkham City.
- There will be jamming towers throughout the world that'll block the batwing (fast-travel) and various of Batman's gadgets, Batman will have to destroy these towers using all of his means.
- Dynamic side-missions (muggings, police operation, etc).
- Completing these side missions will cause the Police to treat Batman better.
- Additional side-missions allows Batman to go after other super-villains not in the main story.
- Upgrades and leveling system returns.
- Alfred will give Batman additional gadgets if he notices you're having trouble in certain situations.
- Dark Knight system that offers additional tasks that increase in difficulty.
- They want there to be more of a point to the Challenge maps and modes.
- Detective mode puzzles return.
- There's a playable demo that's been shown behind closed doors.
This doesn't sound too bad, and graphically looks identical. Only concerning thing is
- The same freeflow combat system that was in the Rocksteady games, however Batman is younger and thus not as skilled in combat.
Not sure what to think of that. Are they just going to use the same moveset from Arkham Asylum, or possibly a watered down version? Common sense says they wouldn't do something like that, but I'm curious to see what exactly they'll be doing to the combat to make it just as good as it was in City, but without the skilled combat and upgrades.
