So many people think this is going to be an epic showdown between Jinbe and Luffy. They don't have the fuckin time to fight. How are they supposed to accomplish their goals (which they only have 3 hours to do) when they are beating up on each other. You really think Nami is going to let these two battle it out and watch while she knows zoro and the lads are about to drown... I think not.

Here's how the fight is gonna go down.
Jinbe uses water gun... it's not very effective...
Luffy uses jet pistol... It's super effective!
A wild Nami appears!!!
Nami uses double slap.
Jinbe feints...
Luffy feints...

I could've sworn the past few posts I've been pushing for "they'll fight but each side will struggle." I didn't say Luffy couldn't win, at this point that's not what I care about. Since it's been brought up that Ace and Jimbei fought for three days, I'm guessing we'll have an even fight at first, both sides showing off their moves, before it gets interrupted. It's not that big a deal.

Why wasnt he reacting before it now escalated,i mean Jinbe was just hiding all the time in the sea forest? I know that he wanted to fight them with reason, but afterall it was just a matter of time until he would be forced to react in fighting them. Yes, both sides are being stupid for not seeing the obvious compromise, but that's how it goes in One Piece. If they did see it for themselves right away, then Nami would have no common sense to beat into both of them next chapter.

He'd be fine wandering around the New World yes, but becoming Pirate King in the process? No. Luffy is going to eventually need to match up to admirals and emperors, which he can't do if he has to struggle with Jinbe on land.

Luffy and Jinbei will probably trade blows where Oda will once again tease Luffy's growth, but then the two of them will come to an understanding fast. It is the shonen way. Or at least something interrupts them and they both go their separate ways (call it a race to finish line) for the time being. I think in the end Jinbei will rescue the king and Luffy will rescue his crew. Who gets to Hodi first, is for us to rampantly speculate and for Oda to know.
Nami won't interfere with Luffy's and Jinbei's battle. Based on Luffy's serious face (which looked really cool by the way) and the fact that Nami seems have mellowed out a little, I seriously doubt she will interfere. Nami usually goes Calamity Jane when Luffy is being stupid. He isn't being stupid here. He is trying to make a point. Jinbei should realize that there is no reason why Luffy should leave the safety of his crew in another person's hands when he has the power to do something about it (unlike Saobody Archipelago). I think Nami will actually support Luffy, but maybe I am taking it a little far.

Other comments:
I think someone mentioned this in one of the previous pages. I liked Ussopp's impression of Robin, but I am slightly peeved. That is supposed to be Luffy's thing.
This chapter did a really good job injecting new life into the arc with Joy Boy and Sanji's new role as Shirahoshi's protector, the three hour limit, as well as Hodi starting to stand as a villain all his own.

• I was disappointed that we didn't get to find out Hodi's plans for the Reverie because that is going to determine whether we, the readers, spend a year at Fishman Island or a lifetime. It might have also given us some idea of whether Hodi is the ultimate bad guy in this arc or not. But you can only fit so much information in under 20 pages. Oda does a good job with the pacing as it is.

I mean fuck, so you had a good idea and you turned out wrong or there was a flaw in your logic... No big deal, no one's pride is on the line here lol. Great chapter, really interested in the next one…I wanna see if Luffy and Jimbe really fight!!
And talking about that, I must say that I think that, if the fight is just on land*(See note), Luffy should now be able to beat Jimbe (Although of course Jimbe will take some good hits too, he would give a good fight). I mean, pretimeskip, on land I think Jimbe was slightly more powerful than Luffy (Luffy needed to Gear3-Punch his demon beast while Jimbe could do it without any power up, for example), so now he should be able to beat him in a normal battle. If Jimbe fights also in the water...Then it would really be an interesting fight at this point (Shame that it will be something short and without any winner).

*Take into account that I am talking about Jimbe battling Luffy ON LAND, when even he considers himself weak (In his own words) even though he already has awesome strength. Luffy would have had problems battling against Jimbe on land pretimeskip, buy now he should be able to beat him without much difficulty.The battle would be really different if Jimbe parcially fights in the water, since is then when he is really dangerous. We wont see that, but it would be a rally interesting fight.

The fact that NFP are everywhere on the island, how will each of the NFP group be stopped?

I got nothing to say to most of that because I actually just don't know enough to say anything. But the Shirahoshi thing I will touch on. YOu said it perfect yourself, she always crys so it's kind of hard to figure out when she's under real emotional burden because that's usually why most people cry, when it's just to much to take. So the reason the Sea Kings showed up before is because she was actually truly upset that her mother is gone. That's one of the only reasons so far where a normal person would have cried. She would have been extremely emotionally unstable so that's probably why she called them.

That's also why the brothers were acting so stupid after the mother got shot because they knew if she got too unstable she could destroy the place.

About the Poneglyph and it's apology, I can't wait to hear Robin's translation and/or explination of it to the crew. Aside from Roger's crew the higher ups in the government know something if not everything about the void century. This whole reincarnation theory is pretty interesting, and possibly that spirit of Roger is passed down only in the D's. Again as I said pages ago it could explain why Roger's unborn baby was hunted so. Maybe the Elder stars know that eventually a D comes along to overturn the world and figured Roger's son was the best bet on that.

As for the apology itself, I wonder if maybe the Ancient Kingdom was too big at some point. Maybe they got too powerful and caused some majorly negative earth shattering events themselves before the Government was formed to stop them. Or maybe they apologize because their "legendary warriors" kept failing over and over to win back the world. It's pretty much all fanfiction from here, but it sure is fun to speculate.

I'm still not sold that Robin can make a full duplicte of herself with the ability based on the colorspread. I think its more likely that she just makes her upper half appear out of something rather than make a full clone that can do things like walk and move around on its own, especially because Oda said in the SBS that her powers couldn't make full duplicates

Yes, Thank you brennen, you have finally figured it out. There is actually NOTHING to discuss! These chapter threads are 90% useless!!! the only usefulness this provides are for people who are too stupid to look on mangastream.com to find the chapter, for pretending that their opinion matters when they say "I LOVED THIS CHAPTER", and lastly, for people to find pandaman (which actually has a thread for it too i believe, if not i'm sorry i mislead you into thinking there was). Now that we exposed this to the open, mb one of the admins should consider stop putting these threads up, which would stop 1. ego inflation, and 2. moronic repostings/postings in the wrong thread.

I saw you say that in another post but I ignored it. First off Oda said that before the timeskip, I'll use the same example that someone else used, that before the timeskip Usopp might not have been able to lift 20 lbs but I'm pretty sure he could do that now. He said that in the past referring to what the current strawhats were capable of. Anything in the future is a totally different ball game. And I get what you mean by not being sure if she can duplicate her whole body and I thought the same thing too. But then I looked at it logically and to what purpose would she just clone the top half of her body? That doesn't really help her at all from what she could do before. I mean she could already grow as many hands out of someone as she wanted really so what would cloning the top half of her body do. It would be a pointless upgrade unless the second body could move on it's own. If you disagree name one practical application that she can do now with a second top half that she couldn't do before with just hands and eyes.

I don't understand how any of this can be "cliche". It's an arc that's dealing with race issues in a shounen manga. To people calling it that, I just don't understand.
I think I enjoyed my fun little manga more when I didn't have a council of old-minded people grumbling about it, even though it's trying just as hard as ever and succeeding just as well as it ever has. I'm fine with criticism, but it's the baseless, unexplained criticism that gets to me.

And I don't think Robin can make a full duplicate either. Maybe just a figure of herself made out of her… hands? I dunno how she'll do it, but she made wings out of them. Maybe she really can just do her whole upper/lower body though, which would confirm what a lot of doujins have been telling us for a long time. So if there's anyone who predicted this first, it's all the doujins of Robin.

And yea your probably right about other Poneglyph's being on some other island but all the one's we've seen are extremely old civilizations. And it's not like they were sailing around looking for the things, they have just been following the path that was set for them ever since they chose the first magnetic field to lock onto so they probably missed some along the way.

You know I always wondered about this. We never see Robin explaining the Poneglyphs to the crew if I remember correctly. I don't see Robin explaining this one either. It's probably because the Straw Hats mostly don't give a shit about it. I mean Luffy would probably doze off right around the start, Zoro too. Nami may be the only one genuinely interested. What this means for us as readers, is that we won't get the 'Untold Story' sporadically over time but rather all at once, probably towards the end of the storyline.

Just a thought, but why do the Poneglyphs have to be on the exact islands the Straw Hats visit? I mean there were plenty of other 'paths' the crew could have taken from Twin Cape right? Doesn't that mean there may be some Poneglyph's there that they've missed? (I'm sorry for going slightly off topic; but I searched for a Poneglyph thread, and there was only one from 2006)

Uhhh…she's only seen 3, including this one, and there are many around the world. So technically there are 2 that have only been seen on their island path. Everybody has to go to fishman island. So yes some could have been missed, but she also has seen many before she joined the straw hat pirates.
