The Blackbeards have shown up. This is getting interesting. Whitebeard is a bad ass.
The Second half of this arc is leaps and bounds greater than the first half, I'm glad these last few episodes have been fairly consistently good and exciting.
Although the mysterious disappearance of the Shichibukai, Crocodile, Sentoumaru + PX Army, Kizaru, Aokiji, and the giants is really strange..... very strange.

All I remember is that Itachi's skull thing that appeared looked epic, Narut's 4 tails fight with Orochimaru awesome and the rasengan always looks top notch. When I saw Marco and now how the last shot with Blackbeard, it was wtf.

Oh I usually don't, I tuned in for last episode and this episode because epic things happened in the manga and I wanted to see how they turned out, I was disappointed. Also, like I said, most of the episode was pretty good, it was only the Akainu vs WB fight that killed it for me.

Toei simply cannot get away with Halfbeard in the anime. One Piece is shown on Sunday mornings and at least they tried to make some kind of compromise for it. Better than nothing.
And also, this chapter was extremely short so it only makes sense to extend the fight so it can be long enough. I don't understand how adding length to a good fight makes it less epic. It's not like we're ever gonna see these two fight again, so why not make the most of it?

Yes the animation style changed alot in One Piece, but it just changes. It's not as horrid as the, lack of a better term, Shit that you see with Naruto.
I can safely say that OP at least stays within the realm of normal 'physics' when it gets a little crazy with the animation.
See the Naruto/Pain fight to get what I mean. Honestly, it looks like a god damn 90's Nickelodeon cartoon. Yeah, the one that was drawn by 8 year olds.
And don't even bring up the story. Little red riding hood has a better story than Naruto at this point.
I will admit that it was good, once. But it's just a steaming pile of shit. It's as if Kishimoto had a bad case of the runs and named it Naruto:Shippuden.
Not to mention the fact that over half of the episodes in the anime are nothing but filler.
It's not like it isn't bad enough, but no, they have to throw in enough random story lines and god awful characters that it makes you forget about the horridness of the actual plot.
I have to take a railroad spike and shove it through every damn oraface that I can think of just to get the damn thing out of my mind.
The worst part of this series is how it makes you want to watch it just to see it end!

The animation was a little off as far as the angles, I mean, if you want a dramatic running scene,
you don't do a front view 'Run to the camera' look. It honestly makes you look... Well... Cartoonish.
Yeah it's a cartoon, so what. I still rate it pretty high. -

I'm just kind of ready for the timeskip, seeing as Marineford has been, in my opinion, extremely anti-climatic (which I suppose is the point, but effects my enjoyment of said arc regardless).

While many people were complaining about Luffy not being dead silent at the end of last episode, I actually prefer what they did here.
Instead of Luffy breaking, his crying became harsher. He was without a doubt broken, and while in the manga he just fell apart and once, here he last all reasoning, simply crying, than screaming, and than just silent.
I was one of those people but after watching this episode, I'm really glad they did it how they did. The anime has not been better than the manga lately but that one far surpassed my expectations. I can look past Whitebeard not losing half his face for that.

That's funny, cause last time i checked the likes of Naruto forums they were enraged about how the anime "ruined" such a "great" arc. Heck, most people there agree that OP is handled better.
And the only reason they showed Hidan's decapitation was because that couldn't kill him. It had zero effect and barely any blood. The anime has plenty of censoring, as you can see here. The standards are the same, if not even heavier.But like others said, let's not ruin this thread with Naruto, please.

I've seen WB vs Akainu like 4 times now. Never get tired of seein WB earthquake punch to the head and then tossin him up in the air and smashin him like the little bitch he really is. I can only dream of WB woulda done to him if he were at full strength.
Also, Sengoku may well be the most useless character ever. WB is sendin everythin to hell and all he can do is stand there lookin in shock as everythin goes to hell…..

Positives: Akainu getting owned, Luffy's spine-chilling howl (one of the only examples where the anime's creative license has worked) no Buggy filler, the arrival of
Majin BuuBlackeard and Company,and for making me cry again, dammit ;_;Negatives: No Halfbeard, although it was expected, it does mess with upcoming plot points rather unforgivingly.

Well the anime's supposed to be for kids so(especially the perv ones who lieks boobs.), I just skip the scene whenever Hancock goes on boob show and except for Buggy just gotta love the guy. Well as you said it would've been nice w/o those fillers.

i haven't been coming around too much, but i definately wanted to say this was a great episode. i was expecting this to turn out a lot worse than just a second hole. I'm just glad everything seemed to turn out pretty well and I hope we don't go back to normal filler mode next episode.

Yea everyone's sick of Buggy. But I'm guessing the anime team has their hands tied about who they can use for filler. Although, I wouldn't see much of a problem with them using the Pacifistas in a bit of filler fighting pirates. It would be boring, but better than Buggy. Oh well, I guess there's little they could be allowed to do, I wouldn't have minded seeing a bit of Smoker vs. Hancock filler either.

Oh come on don't be so harsh on Sengoku. It's a well documented fact that people who have reflexes that border on the speed of light and can move faster then the wind have great difficulties crossing short distances. I mean Luffy and pretty much every other pirate reached Ace's execution platform with the pace of an 80 year old woman with a broken foot. To actually reach Whitebeard Sengoku will probably need at least an hour or so

You're not alone. It looked like Whitebeard just threw him into the sea. Of course if that's the case someone will rescue him, oh, and can you imagine Toei adding a filler scene where someone is comically pumping the water out of his stomach like Chopper does to Luffy?
Yet, that's not the case. I can't actually remember specifics on what happened to Akainu but he's alive and well and will get pwned by Luffy at some time.

It's almost sad watching this episode because its like teasing us what One Piece could be in the Anime. I mean this episode was PERFECT and it did exactly what an Anime should, expand on and make the cannon of the Manga better.
I realize that this chapter had a ton of more material to work with plot wise than the previous chapters, but from here on every episode should be of this quality because the Manga only gets faster as we go along.
