Ok for the last time, I'll say the fact that Oda gives hints means he isn't unpredictable. Furthermore I'd say what Oda is a master of more than that is what Aohige was saying, that he's good at making huge hints long in advance so that when you learn of something, it all makes perfect sense and you realize how obvious it should have been. Which again, goes against the guy I was originally talking to who said Oda is completely unpredictable, goes on forums to read what people expect so he can do the opposite, and that nobody could have predicted that Blackbeard would kill Whitebeard (Despite people like me, since I predicted that ever since Ace and Blackbeard first fought) or that Akainu would be magma (Which might be more forgivable if he didn't know Japanese and had no idea of the red dog thing, but is still entirely wrong)
I believe Shirley will be the One Piece world's version of Nostradamus. In other words, at first people are all in awe when looking at her ''power'' but her words can only become true in hindsight; she doesn't predict events but gets credits even though her visions would be quite vague and their true nature only are revealed after said event occured.
Long story short, she will find out her gift wasn't genuine and the arc will end with her being happy to know she was wrong all along and that she can live without worrying about predicting tragedies. (Hopefully not, as Oda is most likely infinitely better than I at storytelling)

Look, i can brag out to say that i predicted things that happened before, since i can't prove it to anyone if i did or did not. After i learn the truth, it is easy to connect the facts that happened through 200 manga and say ''Hey, i could have predicted it''. The example of Blackbeard i told you, did you predict that he would go to impel down before the meeting of shichibukai in marineford, or after he went there and Ivankov already mentioned the World-known criminals. Or did you predict that after he went to impel down he would return to the battle, so that he could steal the Gura Gura no mi? I don't say it's impossible to predict something, but out of hundreds of thousands who watch one piece, just a tiny portion of them make many hypothesis, that can become true, but it's to pure luck, cause it's impossible sometimes to connect all hints.
And also, if i recall you don't have to be a member to read some posts, and don't brag out to be an old-member, cause the difference between July and November if you keep the same calendar as me is 4 months

I never stopped to look that far on it, even though if someone asked me if Luffy would want to live in a world like that I'd obviously say yes, but i never went that far.

There's a big difference between making a random guess (like "tomorrow will be sunny") with little or no support and making a guess (or an "educated guess" like Aaronrules380 stated) supported by facts from the manga ("tomorrow will be sunny given the fact that we're in summer and no other factors like wind, clouds or rain are present").

i understand the difference very clearly. Lets take the Ace dying as an example. there was absolutely no information that ace would die, yet there are gonna be ppl here who say they have guessed it. Another example is Blackbeard breaking into Impel Down, or BB gaining two fruits. Why everything here is almost a complete random guess is because One Piece is ultimately a cartoon, its laws and physics is based off of one man, Oda. Especially in a setting where there is magic, anything can be changed, so dont assume for one second that there is any form of educated guesses being made here about One Piece.

Great chapter. It was cool to see some more info about mermen/mermaids and fishmen/fishwomen and the daughter of the Neptune Army's leader, Shirley.
It also looks like Oda handled Sanji's controversial nosebleed situation quite finely as well, slightly dumbing down its importance within the plot and quietly passing over it to progress through the rest of the story.

You're a complete idiot if you seriously believe anything can happen in One Piece. This isn't a crap series like Bleach where the author changes the rules at a whim and has no internal consistency. One Piece may be a fantasy, but it sets rules for itself and follows them, rather than using them as an excuse to do whatever the hell they feel like. Or do you think Luffy will suddenly be able to start throwing flame powers around just because Oda feels like it

I know I'm probably thinking about this too much, but it occurred to me that if mermaids/men and fishmen/women can intermarry and crossbreed, if you will, and that those unions can produce any of the four varieties, then why can mermen/maids not eat meat but fishmen/women can? Seems to me it can't just be a cultural thing, since they would be raised by both parents. Seems like it must be a physiological thing–eg mer-bodies cannot process meat, sort of the way an allergy to dairy works in humans.

I'm really excited to find out who the boss character will be in this arc. At the moment we've got two sinister men, still shrouded in shadows, but I doubt Dekken will be the main villain at this point. He seems more like tragic figure, sending love letters and being hunted because of them. Hodi Jones looks to be the obvious one, but who knows, really. I'm predicting another sort of undercover conspiracy, ala Water 7 (with Madame Shirley working for the enemy and giving a false prophecy to condemn Luffy.)
