There's a new Humble Bundle out, and it's Star Wars themed.

Woahhhh….
Jedi Knight/Dark Forces Saga + Battlefront II + Republic Commando.... those are amongst the Tier 0 of Star Wars games (apart from that there's the TIE/X-Wing series, Rogue Squadron and Shadows of the Empire).
Empire at War is a pretty unique RTS from what I hear and KOTOR 1+2 is also pretty highly rated.
Force Unleased 1+2 is meh, it's a decent "god of war" clone so it's okay...
We're only missing Dark Forces II and maybe Rogue Squadron or Pod Racer as far as practical HB Star Wars PC games go. Guess those will be added next week.
Only other decent PC Star Wars games that won't make it are SWG, Lego(s) and Galatic Battlegrounds, for various reasons so there's not much missing. Galatic Battlegrounds might have a chance. TIE/X-Wing/Rogue/Squadron/Alliance series has a small chance if GOG partners with HB, but I doubt they'll have steam keys for those.
Sadly I've already played most of the games in this bundle, but I'm getting it nevertheless.
This is the best bundle I've seen since that Trine 2 + Bastion Bundle.
Get it, there's not much better you can get from Star Wars PC gaming.

videogame related confession:
! Xenoblade means so much for me, but despite that after the recent Xeno X direct i think it did more harm than good for me. On one hand i trust Monolith more than any other developer, but on the other hand i'm usually really pessimistic, and i don't want to see my most anticipated game turn out for the worst.
! It basically boils down to the fact that they've shown the 5 "areas" of the game, but i really don't want for them to be the "only" areas of it. Because it would be really stupid to spoil even before the game is released all there is to it, and even by doing a rapid calc of the announced soundtracks (with like 90 tracks), considerng a day/night ost and a battle theme for each one makes it to 17/90, so i really hope that there will be much more to it. Because if a game like Xeno X that is soooo concentrated on EXPLORATION and DISCOVERY of an alien planet is already fully discovered in a video before the game is even out, is kinda depressing. But as i said i trust them and i'm hoping for the best. -

Soooo Joystiq was my go-to place to get video game news due to its simple organization and good bullshit filter. But now they shut down. I'm not sure where to check anymore to stay up to date with gaming news in general.
-
Wait, Joystiq shut down? Why?!
-
Because AOL is a bunch of assholes, I assume.
-
As a guy who honestly feels he could be the next Steve Jobs (In the sense that I have a vision for products and I'm interested in marketing as well) do you think it is possible to create a mobile game off development products like Stencyl (meaning; without actually knowing how to code that much) and still make money?

A Banjo Kazooie spiritual successor is in the works.
Yes there is an interview with Playtonic, there's 6 full time staff now and they hope to grow to 15 staff. First game is a spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie and they have funding but would like to work with a publisher if it is mutual. "There's a history of working with Nintendo so we'd naturally love to see our game on a Nintendo platform. If people tell us to make Wii U our target console platform then we've got the flexibility to do that." Game will come to Steam early access and certain consoles as soon as they can.
-
-
Cautiously optimistic I guess? I don't say any real information about anything.
-
it's really early in development. It has no console's planned and there are only 6 of them at the moment. I guess until they find a publisher and get some funding we won't see anything solid.
-
Yeah, so cautious optimism I guess it is

Good lord, I tried playing my PS3 again after a while.
Took me a while me a while to get used to the controller again, I'd actually gotten used to the Wii-U's massive tablet.
Weird.
-
I need to get around to playing Banjo Kazooie. I played a but but not too much. I'm always welcoming of 3D platformers that aren't 15+ years old. Hopefully it's good.
I'm kind of getting tired of early access though.

Bethesda is hosting their first ever E3 conference.
But they must have big plans if they are hosting their own

Seriously, you've just awakened my Fallout 3 fanboy.
I hope that that's what it is….or maybe it has to do with the elder scrolls....
Either way, I'm freaking pumped!
-
Fallout 4 is definitely being shown. Then there will be some elder scrolls online stuff. But apart from that I don't know what else there could be
-
Please make Fallout 4 more like New Vegas and less like 3. I don't want to mod in iron sights again.

Elder Scrolls 6
Dishonored 2

Brink 2 - The sequel to the best game ever made.
-
Ooooh I wanna play too
! Rage 2
Wet 2 -
I only want Dishonored 2. Hopefully they beef up the steal aspects but I'm not holding my breath.

so after seeing IGN give evolve 9/10 and then have my friend say he cancelled his pre-order i got confused and decided to look on meta-critic at the user-scores. Wow. Just wow.
They say the game is like left 4 dead but sounds like titanfall meets dungeon keeper IOS.
-
IGN's rating system is judged by the amount of water in the game. Evolve had just a little less water than Majora's Mask 3D, so it got a slightly higher rating.
Seriously though, it's hilarious how all the "official" reviewers gave it top scores, while the user ratings are so much more negative.
-
I'm sure the game is great once you forked over £50 for the game and £136 for all the dlc. Which reviewers likely got for free

As for this Humble Bundle, they added 3 new games to it yesterday.

User reviews are kind of a funny thing.
Off that
Sega predictably had a rough year

Next week Total War Attila comes out, also a SEGA game.
It's going to be a fiasco just like the last Total War.

I honestly never understood why anybody cared about or listened to Peter Molyneux in the first place.

I am having so much fun watching Let's Plays of I Am Bread. It looks like one of the most frustrating yet rewarding games out there. I'd try my hand, yet I'm afraid I'd break the screen out of frustration playing it.

There's a new Humble Bundle.
-
Big Sega Game deal going on Amazon including Sonic Games! I believe its US only though.
-
Yeah, you need a US card.
There's also another one that is cheaper, and has a slightly different selection of games.
-
Yeah. That one has the sega Genesis Collection series 5 if you want that one which has games such as Phantasy Star II,II and Golden Axe III. Didn't notice it had different games, but I figured most would prefer the Sonic games.

Don't know if I already told you about Grow or if you already know it. I used to play those flash games back in the days.
It's really simple. You have several items and you must create a chain reaction by using them one after an other. But to reach the end of the game you must find the good combinaison. It's pretty dumb, but the art is just amazing and it's always super fun to see where each reaction leads. The most difficult version Grow has 2 endings and 12 items. But on the same site you can find easier episodes of the serie.
For instance Grow Tower has only 1 ending and 5 items.
And this version of Grow has 2 ending but an other kind of gameplay. -

To be honest this not happening sounds like a good thing considering where both companies currently are.
-
Yeah but you can't really use how things are now in hindsight since if they had teamed up they could both be better off depending on how it did. We'd have had the best of the PS2 and Dreamcast in one console as well as all of each's games on the system. It probably would have been pretty cool. Though how something seems on paper isn't necessarily how it would have turned out.

True but it would've been hilarious to see how both companies would've eventually screwed themselves or each other over.

A lot of 3D "Platformers" are coming back through indie developers and other PC stuff.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/590439323/spooky-poos-happy-hell
http://us.playstation.com/ps4/games/rime-ps4.html
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/classicgamejunkie/clive-n-wrench-3d-action-platformer(more at this neogaf thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=998885)
Though, it irks me a little bit because some (not all) are called platformers just because of the aesthetic. (Even Knack was called a platformer, but from the demo I played the gameplay was actually a lot closer to 3D beat em ups like God of War.) Jumping wasn't/isn't really a core mechanic of some 3D platforms there like it used to be with Crash Bandicoot and Mario 64 (which had some added exploration to it of course).
-
I'm still waiting for A Hat In Time, which looks like the most promising of the ones I've seen. I'll have to look at the ones you posted later though. Rime didn't really strike me as a platformer from what I saw of it though. I hope more (good) ones start being made too. I doubt they'll ever come back to the mainstream (like, with AAA games being made in the genre), kind of like the stealth genre.
-
If jumping is not the key point of the game then it cannot be called a platformer. That is like me calling a game a point & click adventure when it's actually just a visual novel.

You can have a platformer and not have jumping in the game as awkward as it makes the gameplay.
