@Sea:
Looking at the title I thought it was about history or Japanese society in 197x.
I thought the same thing.

Samurai Deeper Kyo. It's the samurai equivalent of Bleach, and falls right into many of the same pitfalls as Kubos masterpiece.
Though I'll grant it that the pacing is infinetely better than Bleachs, has the odd good character here and there (homicidal flying Hippie), it has backgrounds, and doesn't leave the main cast behind for years to drown in their uselessness.
@JERK:
Sorry, all I'm reading here is "I" "Like" "Rave" "In" "Some" "Form".
no, your genius doesn't fail you. there's this story, "the god of small things". it neither broke boundaries for me nor belonged to a favorite genre. it was a summer read when newsstands stocked indian fiction. but the single word "tomorrow" made me buy three copies - one for each time a friend "forgot" to return it. i read "rave" at a very fast stumble, so i missed much. if i liked it enough, i'll re-read it. i did slow at the part where sieghart realizes the nature of his future and that the nature of his person will accept it. i'm a fight-fate kind of person, but i liked the moment well enough to not hate "rave". i also like the line "i believe in the healing power of stories" and even after re-watching the misery of "until the end of the world", i still like it.
:]

ah! then there's all that tripe about "that certain precious person". maybe it was a translation fail; i wouldn't know. so ditto your bleach dig and add the killer cherry of fluffy vocabulary.
Reborn is a complete waste. Bleach has been -really- bad for the last couple hundred chapters, I still can't figure out why I still read it. Rave's problem is it just keeps dragging on with unmemorable fights. Fairy Tail might be headed that way but the current arc seems a little more promising. Pretty much any shoujo manga isn't worth it unless you're looking for sappy unrealistic love stories.

The main problem with Rave and Fairy Tails is they are too cliche and have too many awkward scenes and lame humors, belong to the dumb hero fantasy genre. I feel too ridiculous reading it.

What are you talking about?
@Sea:
What are you talking about?
i read sdk out of order, so i read lastly some fever dream sequence of yuya (sp?). she was confessing her love for kyo, talking about him as her "certain precious" something. at the time that scene felt like it lasted for effing ages. maybe that was what that mangaka intended; maybe that was the net of the translator's fluffy vocabulary.
killer cherry - like "with a cherry on top" but more toxic.
@Gigglepuffy:
Rurouni Kenshin contained one of the most human, flawed, and sadly touching characters I've seen in a shonen manga.
I am speaking of course about Watsuki himself in his letters/notes to the reader, which, luckily, the tankobons of Kenshin include!
Good god did that man need somebody to give him a hug. He had absolutely no confidence in his own series, never seemed to be able to develop it the way he wanted to, and forever seemed to be forced to appeal to his editor. But I'll be damned if he didn't seem to be a guy who just loved what he did regardless. Luckily, he will always have Buso Renkin to his name, which I think is honestly so much better than anything else he has ever done. And due to its reception, he may never even try something like that again, which is a true tragedy.
I don't see Rurouni Kenshin as a bad series, granted it's not as good as say Vagabond, Lone wolf and cub, Blade of the Immortal but it's not entirely crappy.
An I would also agree with Buso Renkin being a far superior series, to bad it got cancelled releasing only 10 volumes. Which actually makes it easy to collect, the anime was a good adaptation to it. An in case you don't know he's working on another series called Embalming which is currently running in Jump Square

- Every damn character looks alike
- Main character is as interesting as mud, and will, without fail, pull powerups out of his rectum every fight.
- Constant introduction of subordinates to the villain, to swap any actual story development with and endless string of fights.
- Plot threads royally tangled near the end.
- And the biggest offender: Style over substance. Never have I seen so many goddamn page-wasting double spreads in a manga. Main character looks arrogantly confident and says something cool for the 100th time? Spread. Side character looking at villain, and remarking how fearsome he is? Spread.
Not only that, but for half the series Kyo is using super moves which look cool, but whose workings are never explained. I had no idea what he was actually doing most of the time.Though I'll grant it that the pacing is infinetely better than Bleachs, has the odd good character here and there (homicidal flying Hippie), it has backgrounds, and doesn't leave the main cast behind for years to drown in their uselessness.
I have got to read this
Another bad series and I know it's been mentioned before: Tenjou Tenge for the first couple of volumes I actually thought it was decent, than it went into their past about their brother and his friend having sex with his woman. Than the plot started to make no sense, what they were saying sounded like gibberish, the only thing that kept me going were the fights and even that started to make little to no sense. Honestly Oh great should just be a pin up artist cause frankly that's all he's good for.
i know. the plot was really ridiculous at times. during the abovementioned scene she was lying on the ground all bloodied and unmoving. the students just went "oh crap, is she dead? ah who cares, our parents will cover it up for us."
LORD. When I started it, I didn't think it was so bad. But as it went on, it twisted so damn much that I couldn't figure out the fuck was going on. Then a million characters were introduced, the company did something and then jkdghskjgjds
Poor manga.

I sure do .
And anyone who says it's the worst thing ever seems prety pampered , given what crap there actualy is .
At least there was actual fights then , ya know , spending a whole chapter on people feeding each other cake !

I looked at that and realy Kubo's artsytle seems superior to this . And I did not page through the first chapter either .

You have terrible opinions on everything, why did you think stepping in and adding your two cents on Rave meant anything.
Because it's a discusion and my opinion . Please respect that I never insult your own . Or just don't respond then .
And I'm not the only one saying that , you're just trying to bate when you ignore posts from "established" users .
More stuff: Ane Doki is irredeemable on every level, it's a shallow as shallow can be quasi romance which plods along with nothing happening, nothing being accomplished and the character's transforming from shallow nothings into even more shallow nothings. It tries to thrust in an illogical life lesson to the story that has nothing to do with the events that happen in it.
It even fails on the fan service front.
Shaman King is a cliche-ridden piece of bore.
It took six pages for "itz just mah opinion!!!!" defense to pop up. You've exceeded expectations AP.
…Oh right, topic.
Err...Kenshin and Rave have been mentioned so...
Evangelion. Fucking trash.
He doesn't say Gep has horrible taste in everything , it's more like he's selective which I don't like .
Anyone mention Ascent of Snow White to Hell ? I read the chapters that were on onemanga before the shutdown and it seemed prety bad .
The only good thing about Bleach is Mayuri, Kenpachi and Butterflaizen
I wouldn't recommend these to the faint of heart:
Umineko (the first twilight would be enough to sicken them)
Deadman Wonderland (it does get quite gorey after the first Deadman match)
Azumanga Daioh (fulla crack… yes, I read one manga book... yes, I own one manga book... but that's because I can.)

Either dumb porn where the main guy gets screwed over (:ninja:) because his girl likes violent thugers , or a dumb fantasy .
Pick one , either way , you're screwed .
Also , what kind of person does that in public to a person they barely know ?
That was simply pure pointless crap. I curse my curiosity once again. :l

I'll have to disagree with that. I find him awesome as hell. His art just gives me orgasms. 3
clause confusion. He's saying that Takehiko Inoue is a good mangaka. I agree. But why did Slam Dunk just end like that?

Why did I read this? My eyes actually hurt.
I may just be a humble lurker but my eyes were exposed to the piece of crap 197X.
After reading that last night my whole perception of the world has changed primarily the fact that a series looking like a comming of age story can turn into horrible horrible movie theatre porno.
Thankyou AP ;_;
