SS sort of petered out for me after the Kenpachi fight.
Everyone seemed to love the Hollow Ichigo taking over for the Byakuya fight but I honestly don't like powerups like that. Along with Illusions.
Both of which Bleach heavily feature.

@iSheep:
SS arc wasn't even that good to begin with.
Not horrible, but pretty mediocre.
It's all a matter of opinion, to be honest.
I know it wasn't perfect. But if you look at Fake Karakura, there's no way possible you can say SS was bad, with a straight face. (yes, I know you didn't say it was bad, I'm just saying)
but I honestly don't like powerups like that. Along with Illusions.

Same here. Illusions can be crafty every once and a while, but in Bleach, they're just obnoxiously persistent.
People often forgets how enjoyable the fight Ishida vs Mayuri was. Damn, even the fight Kenpachi vs Tosen and Komamura was quite good. I think the manga really went downhill when Ichigo managed to stop the Sokyoku.
Wasn't it suppose to have a power equal to 1 million zanpakuto. Then the fight against Byakuya wasn't that bad but not that enjoyable, probably because both Byakuya and Ichigo are really boring.
I think the manga really went downhill when Ichigo managed to stop the Sokyoku.
Ichigo could block a million bankai-strong sword, yet barely survives the Grimmjow fight.
Kubo sure knows how to balance the game.
And now for something a little different.
Comic book reviewer Linkara tweeted about the writing process of his next episode (the fifth and final issue of Silent Hill: Dead/Alive).

I just realized that Aizen used ninjitsu in that deformed Naruto vs. Bleach trailer. Somehow this doesn't surprise me.
Hey its fairly accurate.

Haha! This actually wants me to watch more of Y Ruler of Time's stuff.
Well, if we're all talking about when Bleach started to go downhill for each of us, my place point was exactly Chapter 393. The Burnout Inferno. After Wonderweiss was all hyped up only to be revealed as a the equivelent of a fire extinguisher and killed off the very next chapter, Bleach had officially fell from grace in my book, and it only got worse from there.
I tolerated the mediocrity until Nnoitra's fight. Then power levels got screwed, "2 hands", "The Heart", "Who said the Espada go from 1 to 10" all happened rapidly (well, rapidly for Bleach anyway, Nel's real form was cool though). Then FKT was bad at pretty much every turn (despite Barragan and Stark showing promise). And the crap that started with Tousen's penis mask and ended with Deicide 80… ugh...
Granted, I had dropped off after the Bount arc with the anime and waited to watch until they got to the Priviron Espada fights and watched most of HM, so it wasn't as bad. Syazel fight wasn't even that bad to me in the anime. Aside from the awkward release command and when I found out what really happened with his Gabriel thing...
Truth is, even if some of the stuff in SS and the beginning of the Arrancar arc were bad, overall Bleach stayed pretty decent up until the trip to Hueco Mundo. Everything else, with a few exceptions (Grimmjow, Nnoitra, Nel) was a huge disappointment.
The way I see it, Bleach can only go up from here.
To me, Bleach started going the first ichigo vs ulquiorra fight.
I actually quite enjoyed the SS arc, Ishida vs Mayuri is easily the best fight in the series.

That's what everyone always says.
Take my advice. No situation is so bad that it can't get worse.

You didn't sense my sarcasm in that? Lol.

I should have worded my last post as Kenpachi vs Nnoitra was where it went bad. That's where the fight got stupid.

Agreed and let me clarify my opinion: it was always mediocre, however I only really noticed when it got midway into SS. Then it started being bad when Kenpachi vs Nnoitra happened. The first arc was the closest to breaking out of being mediocre, but it still didn't quite make it.

This whole war was so rushed, that I have a positive feeling Kubo will finally start fresh with good material. It's like he sacrificed a very hyped up fight, for the chance at a better arc. Or maybe it's just me.

Why do you think the Nnoitra fight was bad? It was one of the better ones in the arc.

With the Kenpachi vs Nnoitra part, I don't like how it started the trend of power levels being screwed over. And the using 2 hands powerup was silly. Nnoitra's release was kinda meh to me too. And considering I watched the anime and Syazel didn't seem to drag as much as be interspersed in the other stuff. Aaroniero was a big disappointment in hindsight, but I never cared for Rukia so I didn't mind the bs ending. Priviron Espada were basically fodder to show off Uryu and Chad's new but still weak new moves.

How so? It makes perfect sense in real life…
If you swing a sword at someone with only one hand and then swing a sword with both of your hands holding the hilt, which do you think would cause more damage to the target?
The power ups only really became dumb when Aizen and his cronies got involved.

It makes sense but… it's underwhelming. And if he could do that, why didn't he use it when both he and Ichigo went all out in their fight? And yes, sensible and underwhelming is better than asspull butterfly transformation, but between the power levels being screwed and the underwhelming power ups for both fighters, Nnoitra vs Kenpachi is where things started to decline fast for me. Zommari, preggo Nemu, "the Heart", "0 Espada" all came after and all sucked. The FKT took the terrible writing to a whole new low.

He didn't use it against Ichigo because…
A.) He thinks kendo is a pain in the ass
B.) Kubo hadn't thought of it yet at the time
C.) Kubo is the most inconsistent motherfucker in the manga business.
Anyway, to each his own. And by the way, Zommari came before that fight, not after.

He did? Well then he's the dropping point. Pumpkin.

Everyone who says that the Ulqurriora fight was when it went downhill…
BANZAI AIZEN SAMA!
Bullshit defeat of sole arrancar with interesting design
Actualy I thought his design looked like Kubo tried to apeal to the emo fanbase , but failed bad .
And yeah . The Apollo fight . It just didn't fucking end .
Not true, SS arc was awesome all the way too the very end, for me
I tend to agree with Sheep here , the whole arc , except for a few exceptions , realy bores me .
And I am outta here.
Why ?
Oh and I've got Kubo's twitter at and if anyone is interested .
@Cyan:
Ichigo could block a million bankai-strong sword, yet barely survives the Grimmjow fight.

For me it's even more offensive that he took out 3 vice admirals with 3 punches. Like that. 3 vice-admirals using shikai. 3 punches and K.O. One of them was Yamamoto's second in comand. . .
Then in FKT we see that monster thing defeating 5 vice-admirals like nothing.
Realy, who gives the vice-admiral title in SS? The guy who lets this morons be VC must be an idiot.

What, you're gonna write on his Japanese twitter in English about how bad his series is? Lol…
I was hoping for someone with japanese skills to write about the fake body shit he forgot . Just like last time , with Yammy .

I think the term you're looking for is "vice-captain".
Vice-admirals aren't nearly as lame or nearly as useless.
Shit, I mixed names up.
True, vice-admirals are in fact quite awesome in comparison.

Oh man, not this again. No one denies that swinging your sword with two hands increases the power. The problem is:

Two hands
Chad actually Wo- Oh Nvm.
This is the event that made me start losing any interest I had left. I'm biased seeing as Chad used to be my favourite character, but it still frustrated me to no end. Some decent moments did follow later on as well, but the overall quality stayed underwhelming.
To me the point of Bleach started going downhill was during the 9 months of the Syzeal Aporro fight (which is sadly lump with three great fights with Grimmjow Vs. Ichigo, round 3, Nel Vs. Nnoitra, and Kenpachi Vs. Nnoitra.).
FKT had a couple of fights that I enjoyed (I'm probably one of the few people that love Yumichika Vs. Charlotte, because how insane the fight was. The Stark and Barrigans fights were great as well. And they were some of the last part of Bleach that I really like.)
Now, the only thing Kubo has to do is get Chad ditched by some girl - and a new Yamcha will be born.

Two floating skulls in a giant lava lamp . What's not to love ?
Compared to Mr. Sunshine that is .
That's it, I'm sick of forgetting who all these Bleach characters are! Who the hell is Aaroniero? I'm bookmarking Bleach wikia so I can stay up to date on all these useless characters.
Oh…he was an Espada...well damn.

Ja, me too. I'm surprised I typed his name correctly in Bleach wikia on the first try!
Usually I'm bad with that kinda stuff.
I only like remember at least 10 characters names. The other I call "hat guy" "old guy" "fat guy" etc.

Fat guy as in Omaeda or Fat guy as in that giuy from the research institute who can extend his eye via a handle on his head ?
Sigh
With no more Bleach chapters for us to ridicule (as least for now, anyway), and our beloved AiZoom gone, this thread is awfully lonely.
Don't worry , I'll et you accept my love to keep you from being bored !

Yeah Kubo repeats the same design a few times.
Not that I'm defending him or nothing but the animation team is to blame for reused scenes in the anime, not Kubo himself.
Well for the next two weeks we have the anime still…and that's starting the "Aizen fight" now. Heck there is even a new opening...though suddenly it wouldn't work unless it's some weird random music while Aizen mutates over and over and over again.
Besides, there is still the minutest of hopes this could be the final season. (though knowing Pierrot...)
It sure does look like it's the final season. At least, the new opening is making it seem so. It basically shows all the early events in Bleach (like the ghost girl Ichigo saves in the beginning, meeting Rukia, etc.) like it's some kind of 'final memories' memorial…
I want to see that opening now then.
You mean…
I7uABHrfjp8
… this?
That really looks like a final opening if I ever saw one, I always liked Bleach openings and I like this one too(must be the first arc stuff).
