Third Round Discussion Thread

Glad to see either Norland or Bepo, probably Bepo'll be going onto the next round. Upset Robin got an easy enough opponent. Was hoping we'd be able to get her out this round. Hopefully Shanks can pull through against Moria and rid of us of that plague once and for all. And this match won't be terribly hard for Luffy to get by either, so looks like we'll be seeing him in the top 16.

Croc vs Bon'll be the best match of the round. Those are two characters that could have both made it to the semis without a hitch had they not been paired against each other or the likes of Buggy or WB.

I am sure that I'll be voting in a few minorities this round, but Robin versus Bellemere will be sad for me. I'm definitely voting for Robin, but Bellemere would get votes from me over a few of the ones that will be advancing.

In theory, Mihawk versus Zoro should be fun, but I don't think that Mihawk has any shot there.

I agree, though, that Nami versus Usopp will be serious. However, after the scare from last round, I'm not so sure that Nami will win this one. I feel like the forum leans towards Usopp.

but now the enemy is more powerfull
(i also think that the next chapeter can save moria necks)

I drew these matches while wearing a strawhat and listening to the OP opening themes. Actual round will start in a day or two.

01. Buggy vs Rayleigh
(I ll be cheering for Ray Buggy has grown in my eyes but still far from being a loveable character)

02. Dragon vs Enel
(Dragons persona has got a new input and will continue to advance in that direction while Enel for now is
out of the story. Anyways Dragon it is)

03. Garp vs Going Merry
(any person would do it for me against a ship… so this is the easiest choice I have to make in this round)

04. Smoker vs Arlong
(I dont like Smokers character for the soul reason of him pint pointing Luffy, I find it moronic and immature )

05. Ryuma vs Whitebeard
(Ryuma didn't really have all that screen time to grow in my eyes)

06. Kuma vs Sengoku
(Sengoku still disapointed me in this war, while I hope the real Kuma comes back, he was a great character even though there is only little we know about him)

07. Chopper vs Gun Fall
(Skypia characters to me are all uninteresting or better to say I dont like them Some old guy on a childish horse…same goes for him)

08. Bon Kurei vs Crocodile
(Bon Kurei is a good character, but Crocodile is a great one, especially since he isnt all black and dark, there is a lot more to be learnt about him)

09. Robin vs Bellemere
(I dont like women with shaven heads, who smoke and try to act all manly)

10. Moria vs Shanks
(Moria is cool but Shanks is shanks, he also caused me to start making AMVs)

11. Norland vs Bepo
(The last remaining of the Herat Pirates, I believe and bet he has an amazing and touching background)

12. Magellan vs Luffy
(the star of the manga/anime but thats not it actually I just like his character, now if he gets a bit more mature, he ll definitely grow even more)

13. Hiriluk vs Hannybal
(I dont like Hannyabal, quite frankly I dont get it how he became vice varden)

14. Roger vs Brook
(last chapters have made me appreciate brook although I hope he "matures" a bit as well, his constant jokes can become annoying)

15. Mihawk vs Zoro
( I like them both, but Zoro being my favourite OP character together with Luffy doesnt make it hard to decide)

16. Nami vs Usopp

(Nami in my eyes is what makes SH look less cool. In other words, she needs to start doing her own things and learn her place in the crew. She is not the captain so basically what I am trying to say here is, I hope Luffy will be in control from now on and Nami will stop being a B****)

Until I came to these forums, I used to think that Usopp was the one that made the Strawhats look less "cool." There's this one scene in Skypiea that is the epitome of why he's annoying (his inability to shut up when everyone is clearly ignoring him, and his cowardice at times gets tiresome). His fight against Luffy and his alter-ego Sogeking really changed how I view his character.

I fail to see how Luffy is ever not in control (as captain, not of situations). the crew all has something to contribute, and they have positives and negatives to them. I get so tired of people insulting Nami when it's just as easy to do the same for Usopp or any other SH for that matter. for one thing it's not as if Oda will change the characters just cuz people complain about him/her. and for another, there are characters who are a lot more rotten in nature than Nami (you all know who I'm talking about).

I agree with this definately !

He's still 'the weak scared one' at times for comedy, because that's just who he is.
But the difference now is he's proved himself. We know he packs one hell of a punch!
