Apparently Larry Wilmore's Nightly Show is ending.

I haven't had cable in a while so I haven't been watching it, but… well.. he wasn't funny. And he kept going to the "white people are bad and should feel guilty" topic every single night. It's fine to go there, someone SHOULD talk about it, but not every single show.

Mostly it just feels like if Colbert and Stewart had announced their leavings six months earlier Comedy Central could have had Jon Oliver hosting the Daily Show and maybe Samantha Bee in Colbert's slot, and that would have been fine. Oh well, at least Oliver is flourishing on HBO.

(Colbert is weird. Great during the primaries but his jokes and delivery have eerily shifted for the format and he feels a lot like Letterman now. But maybe the political season will free him up properly.)

Considering his opinions on those kind of practice it not surprising he would be criticize. I think he called Trump on something similar when he said that since those loophole were legal there was normal for him to use them.

Stewart really have a great legacy with his correspondents branching out. It was cool to see Colbert with some other ones sitting and talking. Although I really don't think the late night show fits Colbert it always nice to see him and Stewart together.

I was not expecting this morning to watch a 5 hour supercut of Craig Ferguson and Kristen Bell covering all 26! of her appearances on the Late Late Show over the course of a decade, but…

Seeing it in chronological order where they start out as just awkward talk show host and guest and become absolute best friends with tons of natural chemistry is just amazing and entertaining the whole way through. And that final bit.

The channel also has a super cut of Hugh Lorie, Mila Kunis, Matt Smith, Betty White, Robin Williams, random audience members, golden harmonica winners, but she was far and away his most recurring guest. Apparently the only reason she didn't appear on his final show is because she gave birth the same night.

I miss ya Craig. You were my favorite of the late night hosts. The other little things youve done since just aren't the same.

(Stewart, Colbert and Oliver are great for politics, Letterman classic, Carson a legend, and Conan was good for being weird… but he lost something inside when he lost the Tonight Show. But Ferguson was the most FUN to be around, like he wasn't doing a show at all.)

Between all the old hosts I liked leaving and giving up cable for watching the internet when I moved, I haven't really watched any late night shows regularly the last several years except Jon Oliver's when its actually on. (And as of last season they started blocking the official youtube uploads in canada so…)

His carpool karaoke is fine but I haven't really seen anything else he's done.

Evidently it was announced a while back that Conan would be ending his show. He's my favorite so that's unfortunate. But he's doing a show on HBO Max and that's awesome actually. The content I've enjoyed the most from Conan is his recent travels and skits. Hopefully Jordan and Sona and the rest of the gang can come along.

Well, that's ashame. But he is 57, and he's been doing the talk show host gig for just about 30 years, its easy to understand him being ready to be done.

Still a huge injustice that he got kicked off the Tonight Show so Leno could get another year, and was relegated to TBS for the last decade.

Okay, well it's not entirely going away, it's just being revamped as a variety show on HBO Max. That's like the fourth iteration of Conan show so far.

I caught up on the CNN documentary series about the Late Night talk shows. This past week episode is about the entire Conan vs. Leno situation. I know, it's over 11 years ago, but man, I still bad for Conan losing the Tonight Show back to Leno. I still find Kimmel appearing Leno's show and not answer Leno's questions the way Leno want it is hilarious.

I've seen the full video and I'm still confused: is he serious? Is he taking the piss out of covid truthers? I've seen so many people arguing that this means that China covered it up and go on to their Sinophobic rant but I'm just… ???

I honestly totally dug Jons rant, thought his delivery of it was hilarious. He was so energetic lol. I wish he'd start hosting his own show again. I think he is totally serious, too. And I don't have a problem with it, really. I'm not a big believer in conspiracy theories but the one about the Wuhan lab seems like one of the more sensible ones. I certainly wouldn't put it past the Chinese government to create something like that. I'm not as convinced of it as Jon seems to be, but I don't see anything he said as problematic or crazy.

Blues Clues was well past my time as a kid so I never watched it, but I can see this being a thing.

I was about 8 years old when Blue Clues started out, so, by all means, I really shouldn't have been watching it, but I had a baby brother, and so we watched it all the time.

The show was so chill and Steve Burns is just such a naturally charming guy.

I was too old but yeah, I might have watched it when I was bored. And then watched it when I wanted to chill out. Because Steve was just that cool and chill. Still, because I was older I wasn't as impacted by Steve leaving like the younger kids were, mostly just a "huh, that's weird" reaction.

For me though this reaction would be more like if Mr. Rogers suddenly came back to say hi. sniffle

I was 5 when it started and loved watching it. It was by far my favorite show on Nick Jr. and I watched it until I was at least 8 or 9. When Steve left I had stopped watching for sure, but the idea of him leaving still was impactful and everyone in middle school was talking about it and rumors about why (he was dead, he went to college) were everywhere.

After 7 years, Trevor Noah is going to be leaving The Daily Show.

No word yet on when exactly he's leaving or who will be taking.

Maybe they should get Samantha Bee back on now that her show was cancelled.

I never really watched Trevor's run. Jon Stewart leaving was pretty much my cutoff point, and I moved to Canada and stopped having cable shortly after that anyway. I've seen some on youtube and seen his standup specials and he seems pretty solid, but I have zero insight on how good he was on the show.

I watched most of the first few years Trevor hosted. I think the best description of his run is a great comedian, with subpar material written for him, and nowhere near the political knowledge Jon has.

It always felt like John Oliver's show was the genuine continuation of the Daily Show.

So I'm excited to see where Trevor goes next, but the Daily Show always felt off for him to host.

I would love to see Jordan Keppler host. Especially in the Trump era, his interview segments at rallies have been the highlight of the modern Daily Show. He deserves the chance to host.
