I really like the concept of Boin Island. The anime was not really clear on what it was since there was nothing worth trapping… That and it looked like a machine.
Chapter 591: "You Sure That's Alright?" Discussion
-
-
He can't find them. He can only find Rayleigh or Shakky
Maybe Kuma told Ray where he sent the others too or at least in which direction. Then Chopper should able to find them pretty easily.
-
If all the strawhats do meet at Amazon Lily how will they move without the Sunny Go
choppers birdie duh! amazons will take their boat.
-
Chopper finds fingernails from all the SH's in his medical bag, and makes vivre cards for them so he can fly around collecting them.
Vivre cards are made in New World :ninja:
-
Although a simultaneous reunion would have more dramatic effect.
I hope it's this.
having all of them arrive at once would have such an impact on Luffy and the reader's as well.
-
is it just me or have all the recent covers been two people eating stuff with a large animal behind them
-
-
Rayleigh for the Iorn Man tournament! Phew, that guy can swim.
-
@JERK:
He can't find them. He can only find Rayleigh or Shakky.
I doubt it can be used to this much of an extent, but remember Chopper can find people by smell. Making him the most suited for finding people, especially since he's on a giant bird.
I don't really think Choppers smelling abilities span the entire world, but weirder things have happened in One Piece, so it's worth considering.
-
Usopp is risking his life and gonna take a while to escape that island that's for sure.
On the other hand Chopper leaves his island with ease without really having learned anything. Is Chopper really done ?
-
Do you have to make everything personal ?
You're not much older than 12 or 13, right ?My post was addressed to Hancock supporters.
just block him like i did. replying to his idiocy is damaging to your IQ.

no its not worth considering at all…
Usopp is gonna take a while to escape that island that's for sure.
On the other hand Chopper leaves his island with ease without really having learned anything.
oda hasnt stated a thing but a bit of back ground in the anime and his manga. we have no idea what chopper may or may not have learned.
but its all symbolic for chopper since before on drum island he was stuck in a social limbo, neither human nor beast. Yet he was able to make peace between beasts and man on an island. Why not within himself?

I chuckle'd .

well who knows maybe usopp's island is conveniently in Chopper's flight path and he while flying overhead smell's Usopp and makes a pit stop.
and being on a huge bird is able to escape an otherwise un-escapable island

Wow this chapter was so awesome I finally felt like i had to post something.
I think the reason Chopper's so unhappy at the end isn't because he sees Luffy new bounty, but because he sees his own is unchanged: "pet - 50 beli" or something like that. It would explain why he says "why again" and he had a similar reaction when he first saw the bounties on Enies Lobby
-
I hope it's this.
having all of them arrive at once would have such an impact on Luffy and the reader's as well.
alternative would be them all arriving on SA prior to luffy so when luffy arrives its like a all in one reunion. which makes more sense if Ray's proposal is to teach luffy haki on Amazon Lily and that he left his virve with Shakky.
-
About the scanlation and Chopper's last line.
Chopper said "なんでまた!?"
The problem is, this has two meanings.
Yes, it can literally mean "なんで" and "また", as in "Why again?"
But the word "なんでまた" is also very commonly used for generic "how come!?" without any suggestion of repetition. We won't know which way he meant it until next chapter or more info comes out.

1. Bounty raise for Luffy
2. Dark King is gonna train Luffy. -
This chapter was great. Seeing the AL islanders wanting to see Luffy, finding out Rayleigh and Shakky also helped out the Boa sisters, and seeing Usopp and Chopper were great. I also think Chopper was looking at Lufy's newest bounty. Doflamingo's held the record of highest known bounty for 357 chapters now and it looks like it's finaly going to be broken.
It looks like Rayleigh may indeed train or at least tesll Luffy about Haki but I dont think it'll be shown, only in a flashback when the need presents iyself (like in a battle).

1. Bounty raise for Luffy
2. Dark King is gonna train Luffy.hey you sigged a .gif I made. I took it down after my photobucket blew up.
Where did yah find it? i'm simply curious
-
i heard someone saying that zoro is the new relaigh, so i think usoppe becoming fat means he is the next lucky roux
-
@Aohige: When Law talked about "D" calling up a storm again, did he mean Luffy or a mystical being that can be called "D", something like the Klabautermann or Davy Jones?
-
The design of Boin island is pretty good.
Hancock is really stupid…she will go well with Luffy.
As expected, Vivrecard pieces don't attract each other. And finally, the translation leaves something to be desired.
-
@Aohige: When Law talked about "D" calling up a storm again, did he mean Luffy or a mystical being that can be called "D"?
I think he meant D as in the "clan" D.
-

Yeah, because that's exactly what they meant. Exact reptition of Shanks's crew.
Not a metaphorical sense of Zoro being the first mate of the next pirate king.Aspergers Vs. Literary subtext….only god will cry.
-

I don't have access to the original raw to read.
But no, probably not. Calling up storm is a commonly used expression meaning stirring up trouble, or bringing chaos.
The "D" people bring trouble wherever they go.As expected, Vivrecard pieces don't attract each other.
Yes, they do. Not only was it stated it does, it was confirmed this chapter again that it does.
Why in the unholy name do you think he left it with Shakky?Unless you mean, the little pieces don't attract each other, just attracted to the main piece (whatever characterizes a main piece, size, etc)
-
EPIC chapter
1.Luffy's Haki training
2.No TIMESKIP -
thanks a lot for the chapter!!!

Oh, sorry. Thought you had it already. Thanks anyway!

hehehe that cover is campaigning fuel for me.

i'll PM you as soon as i get access to one. Too bad we didn't had pics this time

i dont know any fatsos in glod rogers crew. so i thouth any fat great pirate with a gun would do so i thouht of lukky roux
-
As expected, Vivrecard pieces don't attract each other.
From what are you taking this, from the fact that Raileigh especificaly said that he left his vivrecard in sabody to avoid the strawhats following him?
-
lol at bepo..16 characters
-
Rayleigh clearly has the ability to make everything better, as this chapter exemplified.
-Hancock and Jimbei are funny.
-We finally have undeniable confirmation on Kuma.-Luffy might go on a journey with Rayleigh. Oh, and plenty of backstory for the Snake Sisters.
-Usopp is back, and has to fight hundreds of monsters in a carnivorous island to reach Luffy so in can support him after the death of his brother. There is nothing I didn't like about typing that sentence.
-Multiple plot points are covered here, including the situations of Law, Kuma, Rayleigh, Usopp, and Chopper. Also, a cliffhanger that makes me want tear my eyes out–making this a great chapter.
For the pro-training arc crowd, remember that Chopper has perhaps the greatest distance to travel and therefore more a lot can happen. He might just cruise to AL on a giant bird, or he might not. We will see.
-
You guys are probably right with Chopper reading Luffy´s bounty… I thought it has something to do with Ray´s plan...ah well xD
-
So, the "serial" continues… If the serial is of "12" then we ought to add up the pages/ panels that Chopper has had and then see where it went from there.
But, the cliff hanger at the end is something menacing towards what may happen soon.
-
@JERK:
It's bizarre that Oda seems to be going two different ways with the Strawhats.
Chopper has escaped his island with ease, and a flying mount that'll let him go pretty much anywhere.
Meanwhile Usopp is stuck in the middle of a difficuilt situation with a bodily handicap, a situation that apparently no one has ever gotten out of before.
One move suggests they'll reunite soon, the other suggests they'll be separated for awhile yet.
I think that what Chopper read goes beyond a bounty increase for Luffy and maybe something unexpected that could wind up sidetracking him.
And as for AL, I always argued that the scenes of Sentomarou and Smoker warning Hancock on the consequences of her betraying the marines would have significance and the oh so obvious line from Rayleigh this week really has me sure that an attack is coming.
Oh and I'm going with a 500 million bounty for Luffy.
-
Amazon Lily invasion arc appears both likely and unlikely from this chapter.
Unlikely as Rayleigh by himself should handle anything up to admirals with ease .
Likely as that might be what chopper is reading -
in regards to what chopper is referencing.
A war with Amazon Lily, and a buster call on Amazon lily is unlikely. They wouldn't pubically broadcast their movements if they planned to attack the suspected hide out of SH luffy. They'd just do it and report "victory" later.
So its probably a new bounty.
-
Interested in what this says about the anime.
Now, I have no doubt that Oda did NOT write any of the entire episodes.
But, I think people should just accept (most people seem to have, but some haven't) that he passed on some extra details of the Straw Hats' adventures for the anime writers. There's no way in hell he took the idea of an island that eats FROM the anime, after all. He's not choosing to make it canon or anything.
-
Nice. Ray is a badass. No Dragon for the storm…but what does Law says regarding the D? Ray is well known by the sisters and Nyon. And so is Shakky, even if I still don't understand her role (was she an ex-queen, relative? mentor?). The proposal made by Ray is training Luffy...or should be.
How odd is Boa? :DThe rest of the crew. Usopp: Dunno what to expect...ok, he has to improve to beat the monsters, but beside that I don't understand.
Choppe solved the problems on his island. Maybe he'll be the first to join Luffy, he's the doctor after all. The final image: hard to know, the most probable thing is the raising of Luffy's bounty...and maybe not just his, but also of the rest of the crew. But still, I'm not convinced. -
And as for AL, I always argued that the scenes of Sentomarou and Smoker warning Hancock on the consequences of her betraying the marines would have significance and the oh so obvious line from Rayleigh this week really has me sure that an attack is coming.
I don't think Sentoumarou is much of a rat to even care much as Warlords in general are supposedly unpredictable and seen as untrusted. Smoker? Well, he's already on an edge with the way the WG does things.
That aside, I don't really see the government making any big moves now.
-
O_O It all makes sense…
Rayleigh going out to EXACTLY where all the strawhats were sent... Or at least Luffy so far...
It was Kuma!
Ding! -
Rayleigh is part merman…you heard it first :ninja:
I can't wait for the SHs to reunite...Sanji is going to be pissed at Luffy cause he landed on an island of half-naked women...Luffy is going to be pissed at Usopp cause he landed on an island full of food and a man dressed as a beetle running around....Perona is going to be pissed at Sanji cause he landed on island full of cute, pink things...HATE HATE HATE...its going to be sooo beautiful!
-
So… does anyone think Robin is going to meet Sabo? :)
-
i hate usopp so much
-
I think at the end Chopper is referring to Luffy having his bounty raised again.
-
So… does anyone think Robin is going to meet Sabo? :)
omg….they are sooooo going to hook up!
