I hate the idea of web shooters (I already hated it in the 1994 series).
Spider-Man getting a reboot.
-
-
Mechanical web shooters have been part of Spidey since like…forever. The movie is what gave us the organic shooters.
-
Well, other Spidey incarnations had organic webs before that. Only one that immediately comes to mind is 2099, but I'm sure there have been others.

So Lizard has been confirmed.
I found a very interesting little plot spoiler.
! "Sony wants us to be hush-hush right now," he said. "I play a relatively small role. I play a construction worker whose son is caught in the middle of a battle between the Lizard and Spider-Man on the Manhattan bridge. Spider-Man helps me get my son back from this perilous situation.Spider-man is kind of hurting," he said. "I help him when all of the other people won't. Part of the story is, the nation thinks he might be a bad guy. They don't know what to think. Because of my experience on the bridge with my kid, I know he is a good guy. I pitch in and help out at the end. That is the best way."

So there going for some little realism, sounds like the good opposite to that scene near the end of the first Raimi Spiderman with those local New Yorkers cheering and puts Spiderman more within his original incarnation in a sense of his initial rep.

To be fair the first Raimi movie came out pretty soon after 9/11, and it was said that changes occcured, so it seemed like the NY talking about being together, and messing with one of us yada yada was thrown in at the last minute.
Also we lost the awesome trailer footage of Spider-Man catching those guys in the helicopter.

True, but it also had that "all together" stuff for all three movies if I remember right, or at least the second one as well.

I'm just going to leave this here.

Apparently they're
! killing off Spiderman in the 'Ultimate' Comic Series tomorrow:
-
He'll be back in 3 years along with a new #1 issue.
-
I thought that was pretty old…I mean, I already heard of it...
Good thing it's just the Ultimate series. -

Wait, didn't they tease this idea back in Ultimatum?
Damn it Marvel, quit fucking up Spiderman!!

Needs its own thread, not seeing how it relates to this film
My take: Desperate third rate attempt to attract some attention.
Similar to 'Death of Superman'Maybe he'll get a mullet too when he inevitably comes back to life through some convoluted way.
-
It's actually a really good storyline.

Make one if you want; this is a Spiderman thread. Where else are you gonna make it?

The comics thread.

Interesting Interview with writer Steve Loves(who also did the Potter films).
http://collider.com/steve-kloves-interview-the-amazing-spider-man/101453/
This made me happy.
I think it’s really their game, but you actually hit on something that was my concern. I said, ‘I can’t do ‘shazam!’ dialogue, that’s not what I do. If you wanna do the Peter Parker I knew as a kid reading the comic book, I can do that, because it was grounded in exactly what you said, reality.’ So they said ‘Yes that’s what we want, we want you to come in and write Peter Parker as a real character.’ I have to say, I went back and watched the first 15 minutes of the first Spider-Man…what was impressive about Tobey’s take was, Tobey’s kind of a happy nerd. Like, he’s a nerd but he seems kind of happy about it, he’s taking pictures of Kirsten Dunst and he’s weirdly cheeky and kind of forward, and it kind of works in a way. But Sam Raimi has that style that I think dovetailed to that pretty well, but it’s a different time. I couldn’t have done those movies. So I don’t know how this is gonna turn out, but I wrote this very, very naturalistically. A lot of humor, but naturalistic humor, not jokes. But really trying to make them seem like real characters. I think Peter Parker’s a great character, and I certainly think Emma’s character is a fantastic character, Gwen. I wouldn’t have done it if they wanted me to do, ‘Hey look in the sky!’ I don’t know how to do that, I can’t do that. I realize that’s the wrong character but…
Great news, I can't wait to see it.
-
From the funny moment in the HP movies, I can see Kloves' kind of humor work very well with Spidey's.
-
There's a scene for Stan Lee's Cameo where he's got his earphones on, as a librarian and doesn't notice the Spidey x Lizard fight iirc. I agree about Kloves. I wanna see what he can do with Spiderman.

That is one ugly ass outfit.
But Emma Stone, I love youuuuu
-
Emma Stone looks beautiful as a blonde.
-
The bit about the web-shooters…Well, I'm sure he'll mention that he can't actually shoot webs, so built those.
I like how he's on the ceiling of the subway, and no one cares. -
Even tho the outfit doesnt look as good as the first one. It does give a vibe of really being made by peter parker, in like the fabric. And the mask isnt CGI so it will work best in action scenes. I know it will grow on me with time.
Emma Stone is the amazing one! -
"Tobey did an amazing job"
Is this including the third movie? I hope not. -
"Tobey did an amazing job"
Is this including the third movie? I hope not.EMO Peter was bad. But i think the third movie is not as atrocious as many said it is. The Venom adittion at the end is forced and it feels like that in the plot (and the cast for that role was horrible). Raimi shouldnt have try to please the fans so much and go just with the sandman and the second goblin.
-
EMO Peter was bad.
And even then, that's not Tobey's fault, he's just doing what the director/script says.
The new outfit doesn't bother me all that much except for the lack of belt in the front. He looks…naked, and to add insult to injury, he's got the belt in the back...wha!?
-
I had no problems with emo Parker. I actually felt sorry for him because it was easy to put ourselves in his place.
I really loved Spiderman 2.

I suppose he is. I usually blame everyone associated with the movie. The outfit looks like it's trying too hard to be cool. It looks like one I saw on a /co/ thread a couple of weeks ago though…
I hope this movie shows some wicked web usage and awesome acrobatics though, it's something I felt the previous movies were missing. I think Spiderman 3 is the closest they've ever came close to showing just how creative and relentless peter can be with his web tactics.
That scene where he slingshots that bomb back into harry's face was awesome. I just didn't enjoy that hamfisted "forgiveness" plot that was going on... at all.
Sandman was supposed to be good guy in the movie, but after broke out of prison and got sand powers he:
-Robbed a Bank
-Kidnapped MJ
-Tried to MURDER Spiderman because… some black alien told him too?But because he "accidentally" killed Ben Parker (he did put the gun to him), and has a daughter, we're supposed to feel sorry for him? Peter just lets him go instead of taking him to jail? He's the only person who can stop him, meaning Sand Man would cause more havoc as the police try to apprehend him since they're not just going to let an escaped criminal walk about.
All in the name of forgiveness amiright? Screw that movie. I never thought an ending could kill a movie so much like that one did.
That's not even taking into account the painful "emo parker" scenes.
-
Honestly, the entire 3rd movie felt forced. I wonder how different things would have been if they had just let Raimi make the movie when he wanted to and not have forced things they wanted onto the picture. The 3rd film just felt like an excuse to make millions of dollars and to license merchandise, and not to actually make a film.

It would still be bad regardless, apparently Riami wanted three villains. In fact the only thing the studio forced him to to do was put Venom in it. He originally wanted Sandman, Harry and Vulture.
This is a total myth that 3 was bad because of studio interference. -
It wasn't bad because it had three villains. It was bad because the Venom/Symbiote storyline was crammed in at the last moment (among other problems, but that's the biggest one).
-
Or to put it into other words, it was bad because we only saw Venom and his fantastic design for literally two minutes of the entire damn movie.
-
One of my biggest problems with 3 was to put a pointless love interest with Gwen Stacy. It is hard to see Parker kissing another chick so casually especially after all the shit he went through to get Mary Jane in the previous movies.
-
Don't really like the new suit. It…well looks like a basketball. Closest thing to a 'realistic' Spider-man costume is the one on the Japanese live-action one, which I actually didn't mind, but I guess hollywood can't handle the fact that Spider-Man is a high school student that made a costume, and instead needed to skin a million basketballs and add four cans of blue paint for this one. Aside from the costume, I'm really looking forward to this.
-
I'm sure if they did that though, there'd be way more outrage over it 'looking shit' than 'looking unrealistic.'

I just looked up the Japanese Spider-Man series on Wikipedia and saw "Leopordan, Spider-Man's Giant Robot"
What. The. What.

Everyone reacts that way. Having a giant robot just seems like it was a requirement back then.

Yup! Series wasn't half bad….just very very different.

The biggest sin of the three was just how much they killed the part of the point of Spiderman.
Apparently whether Peter did or did not stop that burgular, it would not matter Ben would still be dead.
-
I think there's too much blue.
Also, Emma Stone as Gwen = <3
-

THANK YOU. I told my friend that this was forced drama. And he asked, "Why is that bad?"
Peter had an obsessed hard on for MJ, even after HIS BEST FRIEND dated her. The audience is supposed to believe that the genius peter parker (though they didn't harp on his intellect nearly as they should) is dumb enough to kiss Gwen Stacey in front of MJ and not see a problem with it?

Not really, the burglar "startled" Sandman, causing him to pull the trigger. Which I still think is the biggest bs excuse to redeem a criminal I've ever seen.
People were more upset about Venom than the hamfisted forgiveness plot line? Really?
Albeit Eddy Brock was a complete psycho in that movie. Didn't he call Gwen his girl, when he never even met her or something? My childhood was hurting all over because of him.
Harry honestly was the only enjoyable thing about 3.
