That is so true. Just remember how many filler episodes they shoved at the end of naruto part 1 during it's short time skip of what two years? xD Is the anime really that profitable? I know it sometimes gets on the ten most watched shows list, but the dvd/blu ray sales also have to be good then, huh.
No, Naruto DVDs sell anything but good, well maybe because it is a long running is considered good. Naruto lately, span of 2 year, have been selling 900 copies per Volume, though right now the Kakashi Anbu fillers are selling better making an average of 1500 copies per volume(Better than One Piece normal volume that sell 1.1k per volume. But still One Piece has the Log Collection Box sets, around 5 normal volumes, that sells around 20k per volume, more than most night timeslot shows do).
Yep, the television seris is really profitable. You have sponsors and advertisement and merchandise. It is the paradise of money for Studio Pierrot, they certainly don't want, and rightly so, lose this franchise yet.
