Soooooo…....how come when Meredy saves Ultear she doesn't look like she had a knife in her heart a minute ago?
the knife only pierced ultears boob, and meredy boobs aren't that big so it didn't reach even her boob
-
Yeah I was talking about Ultear, I just find it odd how she doesn't feel any pain from that and if its because she was in the water(speech about her mother being the water and she got healed blablablablabla) I will punch someone.

she might have cast the connection thing AFTER ultear stabbed herself and thus only damage AFTER the connection is applied to both
thus preventing ultear from trying to kill herself again or whatever. but who really cares, its your typical no one dies in the end situation. i mean hell i don't cry a river everytime someone in one piece miraculously survives.
-
I read to see how Fairy Tail is doing after a long time…It looks like Mashima did another shit work.
Typical Fairy Fail chapter for you. -
Mashima? Why? Why are you as bad as Kishimoto is when it comes to redeeming villains? Gazile. Gerard. Laxus. And now Ultear. I will accept Juvia because her turning good was pretty much expected but honestly it's getting really annoying at this point. I'm not saying you shouldn't turn some villains good or you shouldn't make sympathetic villains, but I just really think you're overdoing it.
Can't wait for Ultear to join the FT guild. :getlost:
-
All I noticed was that ultear had some erza sized tits…
-
It was awesome seing Ultear to commit suicide and die in water.. buuuuut noooo she gets to live happily ever after.Damn I should just live in FT world Massacre half of the world then get beat up by friendship punch and live a happy and fullfiling life after that.
What about the girl cat and her foretelling images of some lying dead or similar? And Zeref kills bunch of ppl then suddenly realizes the weight of human soul. Why?So many dissapointments with FT now. -
Well, at least Zeref looks cool. I really need to stop letting the artwork make up for things lol.
-
This thread has 400 pages, just like Zeref's blahblahblah 400 years ago. Chapter woulda been better without the cheesy, mushy drama
between the girls. Although Kain Hikaru crying like a baby had me laughing. -
Good thing her boobs stopped the blade from hitting anything vital.
Also "villain gets redeemed" needs to be added to the checklist.
-
Hey, this arc turned out to be pretty good for Meredy! Good for her! She gets her psycho girlfriend via the guilt of her destroying her village cause she thought the world would be reset so I guess that makes it all okay.
Out of all the questions I want to ask about a chapter and story arc focusing on side characters, I have to wonder why Mashima didn't spend more time with it. Who else wanted this beside him? These two characters couldn't have gotten popular right?
-
It offical, you guys have ridiculous standards for storytelling.
I didn't mind this chapter really, the twist that Zeref is actully an atoner and not some all out monster people were making him out to be. The whole key thing though turned out to be pretty pointless which makes some earlier arcs that too. But I can deal with it.
And I liked how the Ultear/Meredy thing was handled. Ultear actully trying to take some responsibility for her actions. Hell I didn't even expect her to try and kill herself like that. So she lived big deal, the fact she was ready make amends was impressive enough however melodrama the scene turned out to be. Side you know the ol sayin "Dying is easy, living with sins is a true punishment". And if you don't wanna buy that then there this, its Fairy Tail what the hell did you expect?
-
Zeref claims that he's changed, but he's still very vengeful, it seems. He'll probably be a textbook case of one of those warped villains. And Ancologia or whatever is something that can be summoned and not just a spell name? Judging from that last page…a dragon is the only thing I can imagine it being. I can't really imagine what Mashima has in store for Kain and Rustyrose. Surely something unceremonius.
So my biggest issue is not Zeref Hadokening Hades into oblivion, or Ultear and Meredy's love-fest, but the keys. If the whole seal on Zeref thingy was just the product of a cult's imagination, what exactly was Grimoire Heart ''collecting''? Were there actual items relating to Zeref (like Volemort's horcruxes) that the wackjobs claimed were keys, or did the whole concept never truly exist in the first place and it was a wild goose chase of a different sort?
That's what this story is, a wild goose chase.
-
So the fan service of Fairy Tail has hit a new level: a lesbian couple. Great, as if the fan service wasn't already blocking most of the barely stable plot already… This chapter was god awful, just like this arc. It's a shame because FT had so much promise at the beginning.
-
This chapter was pretty meh…Ultear and Melody are characters I just don't care about. I'm also not a fan of characters jumping at the chance to kill themselves for whatever the reason may be.
The Zeref part was odd, but that was mostly due to the odd translations. But if the part about there being no keys was accurate. This I loved. I've always wanted a villain to have this crazy ritual that was needed to unlock or gain some power...only to have the criteria be completely fake. Best thing ever, trolling your followers.

Wait, so not only do these not exist but…..that means....
this bland looking, emo bishounen IS the real, 100 % Zereff ?
My FUCK this is a letdown.

Sorry, but I really don't see how she's taking responsibility by committing suicide. I understand that Mashima wanted to show us that she was truly sorry, but I really think he went too far. She didn't have to try and kill herself. I'm not upset that she lived, I just think the whole idea of trying to end her life was a bit weird. But I agree with you on Zeref, although I thought it was known for a while that he didn't want to kill people?
-
Ultear must've figured she was going to be joining Fairy Tail soon so after she fixed Tenrou Island she went back in time and gave herself a boob job.
-
What a completely contrived, twisted, clumsy, hammed up character redemption. Awful.
-
But:
Look… dolphins!

You know, it would help if you offered a suggestion for doing it correctly, rather than just one-sided criticism. An opinion is like an asshole, honestly… everyone has one and a lot of them stink. Constructive criticism works a lot better.
-
didn't care about ultear and hades but what I got from this chapter was that this arc was kinda meaningless? GH raded tenrou island for no reason and that zeref is the real one? fuck this shit… til next week that is.
-
No dragons, nothing interesting…bye FT.
-
@Fire Fist:

OK, Fire Fist. I've been holding myself back recently because many people have told me I'm being too obnoxious but since you yourself are literally asking for it, I will be more than happy to tear this trash of a chapter to shreds. Play by play it is.
Where do I start? Oh how about how completely random it was. Right in the middle of an attack by an uber elite on the bad guys and we immediately switch to…rowing a boat. Off to a great start aren't we?
There's Urtear being all nice and good. What a completely unconvincing transformation. The woman who was acting all evil and twirling her moustache is now trying to seek redemption after a few cheap words and falling into a puddle. This falls under "contrived". But hey, look. Dolphins!
And then Meredy asks the question without any build-up. Then Urtear spouts a generic "I'm sorry" speech you could find in a cheap novel. This falls under "hammed-up". And then she...stabs herself. Just stabs herself. No build up or anything like showing off the knife to make her intentions clear. She just stabs herself. She was rowing the boat happily chatting about living a new life then Meredy asks the question and she's all like "Oh shit, she asked that. Oh the guilt!!! Now I have to kill myself!!!" This falls under "clumsy", "contrived" and especially "twisted. And what a pathetically looking small knife.
Then we get more of that shitty water in the womb metaphor which is still stupid as hell and makes no sense. Then Meredy just saves her and forgives her. Just because she stabs herself. The woman who ruined her life. There was no sort of build-up or emotional turmoil. She just saves her because she can feel her sadness!!!:( Wow, I never knew that I could kill someone's parents and be forgiven if I feel sad enough. "But Meredy knew Ultear for most of her life and had no one else! It's understandable that she forgave her so quickly!" Then that makes her a completely terrible character if she was so clingy that she would over look the fact that she ruined her life. A NORMAL functional human being would be feeling incredible rage if they found out that their mentor and most beloved one murdered her family and friends for no reason. And it is not something that can be assuaged by being really sad and trying to kill yourself.
This was stupid, unrefined and completely cut off from how real emotions work. But what can you expect from such a soulless manga? And then we get a phoned in hug and cry in the middle of the ocean (And how the hell are they standing perfectly up-right above waist level in the water anyway?) And to top it all off, all in the space of... 8 pages. Completely rushed, "clumsily" handled, clearly thrown in to hurry up and resolve the plot thread without any sort of fore-thought. Just plain AWFUL. This is what happens when incompetent writers try to write deep emotion.
-
Hmm, this chapter could have been decent if it involved characters I cared about. It's just a shame that I really don't. Ah well.
-
i didn't mind this chapter because i don't read fairy tail expecting something wonderful.
i like to read the average generic/easy/cliche manga once in a while to chew the fat while waiting for the better mangas to come out,
the ones i'd actually care about being good. -

Well, in Meredy's defense if Ultear was gone, Meredy would be back in that hell called "loneliness" with no one to turn to. It probably wasn't an easy choice, but forgiving Ultear and trying to start over together was definitely the best decision. Although, I don't know what Ultear can do now that she isn't evil. It isn't like she's had a chance to learn any other skills… unless she wants to show off her tits for money.
-
Well first of all you would have to look at Ultear as a villain was she ever truly full on evil or did she just have a lack of empathy because of her goals?
If you actually read the chapter Ultear mentions that she committed most of her actions under the belief that they would then be invalidated when she used Arc of Time to go back in time.
Now that this isn't going to happen and Meldy is asking her about she needs to atone for everything shes done.
Meldy was told by Zancrow that Ultear destroyed her town so that confrontation was going to come eventually. I also fail to see how killing a character is going to make their redemption any better. All in All I don't need to many scenes hinting at something to tell what's going to happen in Fairy Tail. If a villain is ever shown in a sypathetic light then they will almost always be redeemed somehow.
This has been the case from the beginning with Gazille,Luxus,Gerard, and now we have Ultear. The minute they stop acting like a generic evil guy with no redeeming qualities then its a given that they will be shown in a sympathetic light. -
Goodbye Fairy Tail. May you forever rot in hell.
Adios Mashima! May you be tried for Pornography and sent to Asylum! -
reads on MS
Yeah. That's it. I quit. I gave this series one last chance with the arc and this just puts the final seal on it. I'm tried of this series. Tired of putting up with this thread(seriously? What the hell is there to talk about in here aside from joking around around those that take this shit too seriously? no fun at all). Tired of everything aside from the rare few bring across their opinions constructively while knowing how bad the series can be, especially considering it's typical FT. Hell, I don't even care about those that want so badly to see potential in this trash. They set themselves up for disappointment, even more so than those that expect to be disappointed. Notice I'm talking about this series' readerbase more than the actual manga? Yeah, because it's freakin awful. Maybe worse than reading the worse chapter of FT.
It feels good. I never dropped a series like that since Reborn! and that manga was BAAAD. Not even the dragons could save this series. I'm out. Peace and love. Merry Christmas. Whatever.
-
This will be my second time dropping Fairy Tail. Oh well.
-
You guys could just do what I do.
Skip massive portions of the story and start reading suddenly as if you've been following the series for years. I started reading Fairy Tail for the first time since that Poison Dragon guy's fight at around the point where that guy who controls gravity came into play. Then I skipped around 10 more chapters and started reading again at the beginning of the Hades fight.
I had literally no idea who any of the people in this chapter were besides Zeref and Hades. If you haven't noticed most of my posts in this thread don't refer to any past chapters simply because I have nothing to refer to.
Having absolutely no idea what the fuck is going on just helps fuel my blind rage.
-
Peace to those who are rage quitting
Anyway I'm interested about the keys now. Zeref said in this chapter it was all just a lie that the cult who followed him 400 years ago believed in so I guess everything said about Zeref up until this point besides the things he created can't all be true.
-
OH LOOK, IT'S ACNOLOGIA
-
Is this Acnologia something we've seen before? Because I have no idea what the fuck that is.
-
The chapter felt odd.
So just like that Hades is dead?
Ultear wanted to bleed to death(if she wanted to stab ther heart not best way to go) while drowning?I wonder if exam/tournement will be held again or is going simply offscreen and someones says "Its amazing he/she is S-Class now".
I hope Charle vision is going to be adressed.
Anyway i hope Juvia and Gazille have role in the next arc (how about dragons Mashima…). -
This chapter… oh dear.
I don't get too why is Meredy in a swinsuit and Ultear in those clothes. There was a wardrobe in the island? -
Why is Chapter 250 the magical chapter to "quit"? You should at least finish up the arc.
-
well, let's break it out, shall we?
[x]"The last arc was kind of lame. I hope the next one is better."
[x]Short intermission
[x]"We need to send out an elite team of badasses! Eh, I guess Lucy, Natsu, Erza, Gray and Happy will do."
[x]"Oh shit! This is awesome! This is going to be the best arc to date!"
[x]Gerard appears.
[ ]Suprise Dragon Slayer
[x]Lucy fights another summoner
[x]Lucy strips
[ ]Erza handicaps herself so she can't solo the big bad
[x]Gajeel shows up as a surprise
[ ]Surpise last boss
[x]"This arc blows, I hope the next one is better."
[x]Natsu wins by deus ex machina 1 time only powerup.
[x]Manly tears
[ ]"I expect a better arc next time. It can't possibly be this bad."
[x]Arc ends.
[ ]Restart from #1.the only thing is, no one is expecting a better arc next time. it will always be this bad.

Weren't we gonna try and add the new category of villain redemption? lol

No, I vetoed that notion :ninja:

Lol why? It happens often enough.

I didn't want to comment on this chapter until a better translation and after we got one I must say it really did help the chapter.
One thing though, why does Zeref say one of the reasons he's punishing Hades is because Grimore Hearts made him forget the value of human life?
! When a page back he says he needs to forget the weight of human life so that his "cursed" body doesn't steal souls. He should be thanking him and then kill him for the first reason alone.
! Meredy forgiving Ultear was to understand but I can see where she's coming from. She was very young when it happened and as a small child she was raised by Ultear. Due to that this is how she looks at Ultear and has for years.
! Even though Ultear had lied to her all her life Meredy's feelings were real and still are. Those feelings gained over years can't just go away in an instant. Add the fact that she emotionally connected with Ultear feeling her guilt and regret, then Ultear tried to commit suicide (remember that Meredy sees this woman as her mother) I understand how Meredy could forgive her. She's really all she knew.
-
So who bets that this mysterious person was a blind girl who was really good at poker and called Zeref onii-chan, completely unscared of him ? Ah, Braille's poker. Scratch it - chess.

reads chapter, is totally oblivious to most of whats going on in this manga
So, what happened to that Tree guy Erza fought. And wasn't it implied that Zeref was supposed to be at the bottom of a huge hole or something
-
I liked the lesbian scene this chapter.
Also despite "popular opinion" I think Zeref is an interesting villain, I hope he kills all the dark guilds and Fairy Tail has to stop him for his "extreme justice" to those that do not weigh life.
