@Lil:
So 3 more days and we may find something out!
MAY being the operative word, personally I don't think anything would come out this soon. I hope I am wrong though.

I've been checking Amazon anime DVD rankings lately and "One Piece" Collection One is doing pretty good. Right now on the Top 100 anime DVDs it's in the top 20.
Would you happen to know how the voyages releases stack up to collection one as far as Amazon DVD rankings go?
Well, less than 24 hours left to go until the Industry Panel. Something tells me even if no new One Piece news is announced, this panel will not disappoint.
It's Otakon, after all.

I am inclined to agree with you on that one. I am sensing some awesome acquisitions out of this convention.
When I talked to Chris Sabat and Eric Vale this past weekend discussing season 4, the funi reps had their answers ready. Before I could even finish my sentence about season 4 one of the reps answered for him saying they are working on negotiations. It almost appeared as if he was trying to get them not to reveal anything on accident, hahaha. Would be nice if we got some real news this weekend.

It's almost as if the FUNi reps are saying that at this point out of reflex, haha.

Or they don't want Sabat to say something that be a mistake. This was the same guy that said they were recording up to mid 300s a few years ago. haha
Still I am confident that things are going well. It is just a matter of time.
There's really no point in asking at these things anymore. We know they have been negotiating. Best thing we can do is continue to buy, tell on Facebook how we want them to continue, and just wait until we get the announcement.
Don't know if this means anything but the One Piece survey FUNimation made is closed, it seems it has been closed since Monday from the looks of it…

Well, they are at some point going to need to analyze the raw data, and they can't do that if it keeps changing.
Panel should be starting right about now. Anyone got a feed?

Oh, I'm one of those people who submit a huge list of stuff I'd like to see licensed on their forums. I don't think I'll be disappointed in the event no One Piece news comes our way.
@OnePiecePodcast:
FUNimation: "The more you buy One Piece, the more we'll put out"
Direct from the FUNimation Panel @Otakon '11.
…How about 100 of us here each buys 100 copies of the new collections and just hand 'em out to the neighborhood. Maybe THAT will be enough.
No luck. Maybe next time.
Oh well, now i'm just hoping for something by January.
Wow, that Panel was worse than the Anime Boston drought of '09, at least then we had the announcement of Spice and Wolf.
EDIT: Never mind, they obtained the movie of a property they already had.
EDIT2: And it seems that upon reading the play-by-play on ANN, they had some things they had intended to reveal here, but couldn't get them in time.
Yep, that does sound like Toei…
Alright the, it's time for out next Con to hound FUNimation! New York Anime Festival!

They don't announce anything at NYAF. From now until probably Anime Boston, they'll just announce stuff that they get as they get it. However, my guess is there will be some announcements made over the next week or two since the Heaven's Lost Property movie was not the only thing they were supposed to announce today. As always though I have severe doubt that anything One Piece will be among them.
There's a possibility that we won't get any news on Season 4 until all the Collections are released. Isn't that basically what happened with Sgt. Frog?
I've been of that opinion since they announced these, I'm pretty sure you're right.
@Badass:

Hmm….I'm not so sure....
Sgt. Frog was a completely different situation. Up until they announced season three, it was widely believed that Sgt. Frog was done with, as far as an english dub goes. This is not the case with One Piece. They've made it clear that they have never given up on it.
Plus, there's always One Piece's length to consider. If they went every other month for the collections, we'd likely still be looking at not even getting a first voyage for a season 4 until early 2013, even though they are almost certain to have the license long before then. And given the anxiety and wait over season 4, they would be facing an uproar if they announced a license acquisition and then waited a year or more before releasing season 4 (in other words, that would be bad for business) and it becomes harder and harder for them to say "we're in negotiations for it" the longer time goes on, so they can't use that as a stall in the event they already have it but wanted to do as you suggest and wait until all the collections are released. So that statement of being in negotiations will either have to be true, or if false, they'll have to make some sort of announcement as to whether they have the license or not. And if they do have the license, again, it would be a bad business move to wait, not only in terms of customer relations, but also in the practical business sense....why sit on something for so long that is almost certain to bring in a profit?
No, my thoughts are that they'll probably alternate releases of season 4 voyages and collections up until the collections finish season three, then once season 5 starts getting work, collections for season 4 will start seeing releases, especially if we see another wait like we have with season 4.
actually if they keep the releases of the collections coming out every other month collection 8 which will have episodes 188- 214 will be released next september if anything the first voyage or collection for season 4 will be out bynovember or december of next year
The only thing I found interesting from the panel was the clip for Dragon Ball Z on Blu-ray. I probably won't buy 'em though, since they're a shorter amount of episodes in each release, and I already am collecting the Dragon Boxes.

Just curious, but will the masters being used for the DBZ Bluray be the 16:9 orange brick masters, or will they actually keep the video at 4:3 ratio?
It's an entirely new remastering process from
. It's not the people who did the orange bricks, not the people from Toei Japan who did the Dragon Boxes, and not the studio that did Kai. And it is in 4:3 and not 16:9. Yet no word on if it's the Japanese or American scores yet. It's an entirely new remastering process from

Thank you very much for the video. I gotta say, from what I saw, it looks pretty nice! I might just buy these since I held out on the DBoxes. Plus, the YYH Bluray sets would make a nice companion to these ones.

According to this report by ANN of the FUNimation panel at Otakon, it will be the Japanese music.
who do you think will be on one piece collection 6 vivi or chopper and has anyone noticed on the cover of collection 2 top right corner has zoro's jolly roger instead of the straw hat jolly roger

My guess is Chopper.
This is getting crazy!!! I bought all the voyages and they still won't announce anything about a season 4 getting dubbed!? That ain't right! This show is a great quality show and i'm looking foward to seeing season 4 dubbed. How long do we have to wait!?

I don't know what's going on with Funi.
I mean now that you have all the voyages, and they were most certainly waiting until you got them to announce season 4, I don't know why they haven't made that announcement.

….Are you implying that if he buys the collection sets everything will be right in the universe?

How long do we have to wait!?
how big is their back log of anime that needs to be dubbed
HELLO ONE PIECE FANS!!!!
i think i got some good news for use, or maybe not …
its been rumored that the one piece anime(1st part of the one piece world) would end at episode 515-520 & they will continue the One Piece anime with a new series(new world) ...
just like in naruto, dragonball(as in a new series) ...
the reason why i say its good news is because it's like a end to the show, & i reckon this will help funimation dub the remaining 300eps ...
like i said before, its just a rumor, but its possible ...

At this point, no one can guess. The nearest convention where major announcements are made is Anime Boston in early April. From here until then, if they get it, we'll hear about it.

Well, if precedent with DB/DBZ has taught us anything, it's that the second series would be a lot happier here than the first. :P
If Toei branches off to a new series than that means it will be all the harder for FUNimation to license since it's a brand new series, and the first series still hasn't sold that well, so Toei wouldn't give us a whole new series if the first isn't doing that hot.
At least Naruto and Dragon Ball do good here. Otherwise we never would have gotten Shippuden or the other DB series.
or it could do better because 4kids never touched the new series and more people might want to see

If One Piece ends and we get a second series a la Dragon Ball Z/Naruto Shippuden I don't see how that will affect Season 4 since Season 4 would still be a part of One Piece proper.
But yeah, the Funimation Industry panel was a big disappointment - the reps actually apologized that they didn't get anything other than the Heaven's Lost Property movie, and even then they had only gotten the permission to announcement it less than two hours before the start of the panel - they were scrambling to get permission but they just couldn't. So yes, it was a super disappointing industry panel but it wasn't for their lack of trying.
I like how the FUNi reps seemed really uninterested and apologetic about Heaven's Lost Property.
"Yeah, were bringing this over its got fanservice, fanservice, and lots of fanservice."
or it could do better because 4kids never touched the new series and more people might want to see
Still doesn't help that Funi has to get a new license for the show. That itself will take a while seeing how long we are waiting for a 'Season 4'.
it could be awhile before we see the new series depending on if they started animating it
