That's… awfully rude (o_o) Why? Because he gave the "bad news"? What could he do about that; give a fake spoiler so that everyone could be happy and be devastated when they read the actual chapter?

I based it on the amount of Marco fanart I see being posted ^^
Vista wasn't more impressive to me than what Marco or Jozu was though Jozu wasn't as good as the first two. Marco was only pushed around by Kizaru who also had trouble with him. So for me he hasn't being under-performing in this war. And I didn't mean everyone was under-performing. I only meant it for the characters I expected to blow me away. I kinda already knew what to expect from the Shichibukai and I wasn't disappointed from them. I was mostly let down from the Marines' side.
Considering his position and strong DF, Marco didn't do much and even got careless and let Onigumo put the cuffs on him. But the way he took charge in this chapter I have good hopes for him.
Anyway. For me this entire arc was nothing but a prologue for the New World arc and a way for Oda to help Luffy mature more and to (hopefully) enter the fear of a character dieing (after having their goal accomplished?). I suppose that's why I don't complain all that much about the fighting (or lack of it) and I am satisfied by what little I've seen. Oda could do much better but I am certainly glad he didn't go down the one on one route.
Yes he focussed more on storytelling rather than just showing fights, probably a good decision considering that with the vast amount of characters involved it would take years to let them duke it out in detail. I think the war should be close to over by now, but with Oda you never know ofcourse.. maybe he'll timeskip to Luffy waking up, or maybe there's 10 more chapters of WB going on a rampage, who knows.
I would do so too if this was an other manga. But this One Piece we are talking about. Even nameless fodder dieing would draw a gasp out of me at this point, even after Ace's death.
It would draw a cheer from me that Oda didn't let Ace's death be a one-time thing. 
I don't mean to say Oda has to change his tune, just that a death here or there when it suits the story can be good for adding some tension.

If only Marco matched up against Ao Kiji it would've been a fine battle, Jozu against Akainu (Diamonds won't melt against magma though i guess?), and Wb against Kizaru would be good, But this is war so anything goes.

You can throw rocks at me but that chapter was actually one "undissapointing chapter after cliffhanger of the previous one" for a long time.Seriously.It showed us what we wanted without running away and putting Pell.
And it showed us not only the stuff from that chap but also that One Piece is evolving and not running away from gore, seriousness or gravity. That Logias can hurt each other if it is the right ones.
And looks like for Luffy that was the last drop in the pot of two-year-long losses.

Joz was for me the most impressive of any1 from WB's commanders.
He got stuck into the battle from the very start. That monstrously huge iceberg he tore outta the ground, stopping Hawkeye's attack, and he almost 2 HKO'ed Crocodile. His only fault is that he was careless against Ao Kiji….who he probably coulda beaten...imo if he had fully protected his body with his diamond ability.
Marco started off well enuff against Kizaru...but after that he didn't do much at all. He stood around while everyone else was fighting.
i hope nja learns from this and starts just to post for OP, so that those suckers will finally be glad

I stopped watching dragon ball when Shen Long revived Oopa's dad. Anyway, looking at Oda's interviews, he knows his audience are mainly kids, and that's the reason I'm convinced Ace won't die, or if he does die, someone will bring him back.

No I see no one and yeah i want to stay him dad… even if I liked him. But it would be a waste of 2 chapter if he lives on.
Nobody cared about pell and other fake death... but this is another case which is important for the future. If Pell would stay dead the story wouldn't have changed for the SHs- They thought he is dead and still sailed on. Fodder are unimprtant even more

No chapter could bring back the ASAP (Ace Still Alive Partisans) to reality.
When you see that with this here chapter, some people still believes that Ace is not dead, it's hopeless.
