I'd like for those people who are familiar with old DOS or Windows 3.1 games to share their old favorites.
For some of the more well-known games, I've enjoyed Commander Keen (my avatar is an alteration of a commander keen villain) and wolfenstein 3D, among others.
I also enjoy some of the rarer edutainment games, such as fisher price's school bus and the learning company games (especially ancient empires and operation neptune).

for 3.1..skifree.. to this day i never got past the monster..he was too fast for me XDEDIT: not sure Math blaster 1, Simtown were 3.1

Skifree, brings back such memories. I don't think I ever got past the monster either =/
I don't really remember alot of the names of the games now, but The Oregon Trail is where the most nostalgia is at.
-
Was it actually possible to get past him? One person said he did a jump over him and continued on but I never saw it.
-
X-COM : Enemy Unknown is still my favourite PC game.
Other then that, all the lucasarts scumm games (fate of atantis, monkey island 1 & 2, Dott, etc), and I still love Prince of Persia, which was I think the first game I ever played.
Not so fond memories of the later dos4gw games like theme park, dungeon keeper and star trek final unity that would summarily crash without warning because the extender was so unstable.
-
Dungeon Keeper is still my favourite PC game of all time.
It pains me that the third was dropped in favour of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings games. Cus we all know how amazing they were.

Actually, the yeti was past the finish line, so it was impossible to get past him (believe me, I've tried many many times). The yeti eating you never affected your score.

Wouldn't have been the same without Molyneux anyway.
Anyone ever play Innocent Until Caught?
-
Discworld Discworld Discworld Discworld
-
Eric Idle & L-Space were great, but some of the puzzles were insanely obscure(butterflies anyone?).
Missing presumed & Noir were better in that regard though.
-
I never got into them like that.
Loved the original to death though
-
I liked the original duke nukem games. the ones where he still watched oprah and wasn't a perv.

Quest For Glory: So you want to be a Hero is an old favorite though it was called Hero Quest at first. Also King's Quest was awesome, at least I think it was, been ages since I've even given it a thought.

They really should make a new, this generation TIM game. Make it a XBLA or a Steam indie game. Use Havoc or some another cool physics engine . And with pretty graphics, please.

Had the coolest music  -
I would always try to finish my math quizzes in third grade first, because then I got to get first picks at computers and I could play the amazing Lemonade Stand.
-
Jazz Jack Rabbit and Monster Bash.
And i recall some old DOS game called Mars or something like that. -
What I would give for an emulator that could play Dagger of Amon Ra without freezing.

Dosbox doesn't play the Laura Bow games?
A fellow also made specialised installers under dosbox for a load of the sierra games if you have any problems.

Spiritually similar– did anyone else like Angband and the like (DOS, Unix, etc.)
I kept my old college laptop (PII-266 Thinkpad) in service for like a year trying to get to the 100th basement
