King: Well, there you have it. We've had a great time over the past 2-3 years subbing One Piece for you guys but I guess this is it. We've gotten so popular so it's time for Funimation to take serious against us, and there is nothing much I can do about it

Instantz.net will be complied with DMCA letter as stated in our copyright agreement. Therefore, all the anime links listed above will remove shortly. So, this is your last chance to watch them before I remove them

Yes, because, y'know, they have absolutely no right to tell others to stop illegally distributing a series which they own, not to mention how it obviously takes ages to write these letters.

…Oh, and I am quite aware of the irony of a fansubber saying that FUNi has every right to shut down fansub-groups, by the way.

It went into the hands of the site admin who was also ordered to take down links of other funimation anime from the index that we didn't sub. The situation was bad as it is so no need to anger them more, especially when the site makes ad revenue and whatnot.

Well living in the US and happily content with the Simulcast, I'm not fretting. I just worry about those Non-US English Speakers (UK, New Zealand, etc)

But then Non-US guys on GAF have been able to get by it just fine with Hotspot Shield, so I hear.

If you're streaming the show already in a simulcast, you'd think that the only thing you'd be concerned about is the loss of ad revenue in regards to fansubs.

I wonder if one of their advertisers hit some of the sites and took a look at some torrent stats and didn't like what they saw, so they put the boot on Funi to make life uneasy for fansubbers or threatened to pull their ads. Historically, Funi has been generally hands off on fansubbers for most of their shows (with the exception of a few groups).

Maybe it will scare up some folks to stream it legit for awhile, bog down their capacity on their servers, some advertisers will see a rise in viewers of the ad-laden stream, nod their heads and smile, and they'll lay off again.

DMCA = cant distribute wat's copyrighted. Not too much u can do legally. W/e, there's other anime's to sub and u knock one One Piece group down, two more replace it, like kuriboh's son.

I live in the UK so fansubs are the only way for me to watch One Piece. So unless Funimation would like to sort that out, back off!

As for the Non US people, people have ripped the funimation subs and are putting them on streaming sites, so there is still a way to see those even if you can't watch Funi's stuff.

Well, more like it's just the power to issue legally enforceable cease and desist statements directly instead of through the courts. If a company doesn't feel like issuing those statements, they don't have to. They'll typically focus on groups that actively look for donations, paid memberships, do a lot of ad revenue building, or do online streaming. With the advent of more shows being officially streamed along with built in ad revenue, there's probably even more pressure to make sure that your product isn't being reissued by someone else to make competing profit (and drive down your streaming stats that the ad guys look at to justify their advertising purchase).

LOL, Funi apparently doesn't seem to mind K-F subbing One Piece. K-F fucking rocks!

This is really sad. It's all thanks to Instantz that I was able to eat my delicious Thriller Bark episodes. Anyways, goodluck for your future plans guys, and thanks alot for the hardwork.

Probably because K-F is subbing old episodes. OP anime without K-F is not OP. The only reason I'm a one piece fan is because of K-F, if it weren't for their quality I would've never bothered myself to watch it.

DMCA Did this to LOTS of sites I belive, Theres one other site I know, Where the owner removed all his embeded episodes too.

…Or you can pay a little bit of money to get a megaupload.com or rapidshare.com account and download fansubs at super speed from any of the hundreds of anime dl sites. It's worth it considering how many hundreds of dollars worth of anime you can download a week with it and how fast it is (MU and RS can get over 1 mb/s if you have good connection speed). Fansubbers get shut down all the time, but megaupload/rapidshare download links to their episodes will always hang around.

Oh, and there's also IRC if you're frugal.

That KF forum link is many months old, I'd be surprised if they didn't receive a new one along with the other subbers. It doesn't cost funi anything to send out DMCAs and hope people are scared.. imo they should actually send a thank you to KF but that's probably not the way funi thinks

They are releasing episodes for something like 6 years (perhaps even more) now. Of course if you're working on something for long in your free time more important stuff (like life for instance) will come to intervene every now and then. By happy that they are still doing their stuff unlike all the other teams that stopped (or will stop) completely once more and more important stuff will show up to steal their time.

Torrents, Invite trackers or free. MU and Rapidshare sux compared to enough seeders. 1 mb/sec aint fast compared to what torrents can deliver. I got 40 mbit myself, i get 5 mb/sec.
