Hey! I noticed that we didn’t have one big and serious topic to discuss everything about the New World, so here it is! I’ll try to make this first post as complete as possible and then we’ll let the discussion flow!

What is the New World?
The New World is the second half of the Grand Line. It goes beyond Mariejois, on the top of the Red Line, all the way to the last island and the supposed home of One Piece, Raftel. It’s a sea so far only conquered by the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.
We can assume that once the war between Whitebeard and the World Government ends Luffy and his crew will sail to this ocean.
What to expect in the New World?
The most powerful characters in the One Piece universe await Luffy and his crew in the New World. We have to expect the most exciting and epic adventures in the series history. But so far we know a few big names that will play a big role in the next part of the story.
Yonkou (“The Four Emperors”)
The Yonkou are the greatest pirate threats to the World Government. We can assume how powerful they are that the WG has assembled all the most powerful Marine forces plus the Shichibukai just to fight one of them. They are the rulers of the New World but, it appears, they are locked in a stalemate and no one is close to being Pirate King right now.
The Yonkou are Blackbeard, “Red Hair” Shanks, Kaidou and Big Mom. They strength is so big that it’s hard to think how will Luffy surpass them all in his quest to become the Pirate King.
Whitebeard used to be a Yonkou, and 'the most powerful man in the world' until the end of the Battle of Marineford.
The Supernovas
First introduced in the Shaobondy Archipelago, these rookie pirates are also, just like Luffy, hoping to build a name for themselves in the New World. Their fate after the attack by Kizaru and the Pacifistas is still unknown, but we could guess that we’ll see more of the big names in the near future.
Kidd, Law and Drake look right now as the most powerful but all of them are high-end fighters, that’s for sure. Read more about them here.
New World Pirates
There are dozens of powerful pirates dwelling in the New World. Some of them might not be as powerful as the Yonkou but still a bigger threat than the Supernovas. We can guess that by just watching the terrified faces of the Marines when they say the likes of Oars Jr., Doma and The Decalvan Brothers, just to name a few.
The New Era
Independent of the New World itself is the New Era that will come after the Whitebeard war ends. Oda has already told us that no matter who wins the world will change. That will bring exciting things and big names into the New World too to compete for the void of power after a Whitebeard or Marines defeat.
We could assume that guys as Blackbeard and Doflamingo, just to give a couple of examples, are foreshadowed to play a big role in the near future and specifically in the New World. We’ll see what the future brings.
What else?
Not much more is known about the New World, but there are few tidbits or a few suppositions we can make, a few mysteries yet to be solved:
The Wano Country - The land of the legendary swordsman Ryuuman is the first confirmed island we know about in the New World.
Paladego - The revolutionaries' base is said to be somewhere in the Grand Line. We could expect it to be in the New World.
Elbaf - The land of Giants, we suppose, is somewhere in the New World.
Snakeneck Tribe, Minken and Longleg tribes - Duval mentions these people as a high-end prizes inside the Human Auctioning House.
