@Rozorov1:
@ Monkey King just because you don't care about peoples questions doesn't make them stupid, I agree a lot of people do miss the point but out of the dozens of questions are you telling none have any merit? Maybe the answer doesn't matter to you but they matter to me and many others here
No they're stupid because they're stupid, not because I don't care.
Can you name even one necessary question?
We have a power that comes from confidence, it's a magic confidence thing, the Force.
There are three ways it gets used. Armor, knocking people out, and sensing where people are.
What else do you need? Are you one of those people who LIKED the Force having some awful scientific explanation in the Star Wars prequels?
I am not whining about long format manga, as i have said before I just think this one is dragging too heavily NOW.
Wait…why now??
As i have said before I follow because i enjoy watching the Strawhats adventures, all of them.
Thanks for the speculation on what Asura is it is still not an explanation though.
Not everything needs explanation. Maybe just maybe Oda naturally expects reader's to be used to strange visuals in samurai action attack scenes.
Honestly common sense should immediately tell you that it's probably a visual trick and not Zoro GROWING THREE HEADS lol.
Man, your head would explode if you read other mangas where that sort of thing is common.
Well dude I disagree I think it would have been better for them to at least have a confrontation with someone that could challenge them. It was after they had all gained new powers, they had just destroyed a bunch of weaklings that could barely defend themselves and they had offended a powerful figure. That totally the set-up to get into a fight, it was all laid out we even got to see the denizens of Big Mams crew and what they could do, why do you think that was?
We got a great idea of how strong they were right away, they completely fucked up a couple Pacifistas, when only one had practically murdered the entire crew two years ago.
Otherwise who cares? God, I can't think of anything more boring than caring about what mathematic level of power they're at. They're at what they're at.
Hell we didn't even really know what Luffy could do at the start of the series. It's NEVER been the point. Wrong manga if that's what you're looking for.
Really what does being halfway through the Grandline have to do with anything apart from the obvious geographical significance and as you say the Grandline journey?
Christ, this is like the second time in a week I'm going to have to explain basic subtext isn't it. -_-
Really, you feel he is halfway to being Pirate King? So everyone who enters the New World is halfway to being Pirate King, because you say that that is the way of measuring it?
This isn't your field pal. I'm truly sorry but this is the domain of the right brains. :<
You're going to have to take your power levels, and measurements and throw them away. Things are more abstract here, you're doing it all wrong.
I have been paying attention and the keyword you use is background, when does it come into play? When Rayleigh told them he could tell them the history of the Void Century he also told them they would be too weak to do anything about it. Well they have gone for training and experienced some huge changes and developments.
Considering "doing something about it" probably means attacking the entire WG/Marines….
You have somehow missed out on the scope of the mystery you really care about.
It's way bigger than you think apparently.
My question is when do these things come to the forefront?
Like everything, else. Bit by bit, and it will leap to the front at some point nearing the end.
Probably some big arc halfway through the New World, and then again at the finale.
The WG used to be all background, and then Water7 happened.
Even in your own theory you mention that you expect Luffy to go further after becoming Pirate King and (hopefully) finding the one piece so why can't we know some things now?
We do know some things lol. Did you even read my thread?
Will we have to wait for the final arc for any definitive answers?
No. We get pieces of the puzzle throughout, but only near the end does the whole picture become clear. Some of us might figure it out, but we won't know for sure.
Welcome to storytelling 101.
That just seems ridiculous to me. I think the big reveals are closer than you think, they need a reason to go forward and it will have to be around way before the end.
Don't bet against me on this manga lol. Bad idea hombre!
And uh…reason to go forward...?? What?? Are you saying the Strawhats don't have any motives??
I am not waiting for something to have happened since I started reading,
Well you HAVE been. What's different now?
And what makes you such a big deal when so many others aren't incapable of this? And understand what's even going on?
your list is totally correct with that, let me rephrase what I am saying there, I am still waiting for the Strawhats to be challenged since the timeskip and for that to happen they will have to challenge the "Old Men of the Sea" as it were and as I have said in my last 4 posts, I see something big is building up, I just don't want it to go down the way things went at the end of Fishman Island.
…..WHAT.
Are you SERIOUSLY worried that Donflamingo's crew....CP0....Fujitora....and Kaidou's people....might end up weaklings like the New Fishman Pirates??
WHAT.
WHY.
Action is big part of any shonen series,
Such as Death Note, Hikaru no Go, and I's.
you can't disregard its importance
Do you know what the importance of action scenes is in any kind of story? It's not the punching.
Tell me. What was a better action scene. The fight with Arlong on the terrace, or the fight with Arlong in Nami's map room.
just because you don't think it matters too much and by the amount of people that want to know about it as you say the people measuring tiers and levels etc..it is very important to most One Piece fans
Most One Piece fans here betted against the timeskip. There's a reason most fans aren't writers.
How do you know that is what Oda meant? please could you share a link for your explanation?
Of course that's what Oda meant you dingus lol.
We could get Aohige or someone in here to back me up on the exact translations, but I really don't think we need that because Oda was never going to reveal the main mystery halfway through the story. This is truly inarguable.
Man I am really confused by why you are taking a contrary position to me because i am complaining that we don't get enough since the time skip and after reading your recent posts in this thread I have realized you have exactly the same opinion you even said so in your last post, perhaps i did not make that clear enough. The crux of what i am saying is that One Piece has been going on for so long(that is why I use years), they have "graduated" from their adolescence as weaklings they have had a major change of their perspectives but still nothing has come of it. I have absolutely no issues with One Piece in the past it is the pacing after the timeskip that is frustrating me.
Being weak has nothing to do with character development. With maybe the exception of Usopp and Chopper.
And even that was more mental than anything.
Also buhhhhhh, how is the pacing DIFFERENT now. The only thing you care about seems to be finding out if Luffy's reached Super Saiyen 2 or whatever the hell. Otherwise what's different aside from nothing?
I just expected things to actually happen since the time skip instead of all of the dramatic irony and building up we have been having.
THOSE.ARE.THE.THINGS.
Dressrosa seems like it is but as I have said before it could go down the way of Fishman Island.
WHYYYYY.
Fishman Island did not suck because the villains were weak. If that was all you were paying attention to then ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
As you say in your theories and your posts you expect there to be more after they reach Raftel, I think so too and I believe that will not just be a story arc or saga but an entirely new focus for the storyline, if that is the case, which is definitely seems to be, then i want the mysteries from their journey of the Grandline to be explained before they choose to do continue.
The reveal of those mysteries would BE THE TRIGGER for that final arc or segment!!! More than ANYTHING that's why we can't have them now!!
I have not lost track of the journey, I am looking beyond to the next stage
The FINAL stage?? Yeah I think I'd call someone focusing on the end and losing sight of the way there someone whose lost track.
which i already expected to be on the horizon and as much as I love One Piece i would not like to be following it in 20 years time still waiting for answers. I doubt you would either.
Dude, I'm practically married, visiting foreign countries off all manner of ill repute and development for studies and career advancement and I honestly can't say I care about looking lame for reading a pirate comic book.
