I really do think Luke is going to be killed by Snoke though (I still think Snoke is Darth Plaguies the Wise, Palpatine's old Sith mentor who Palpatine thought he killed but really didn't, scarred him though, hence the large head wound and deformed upper head Snoke has; directors and producers can keep denying it, but, I mean…come on). (Plaguies and Snoke have an identical theme, and the puppet/cgi of Snoke they are using in Episode 8 for Snoke is 7.5 to 8.0 feet tall, Plaguies is 7.8 feet tall in the novels and the Expanded Universe; he also has a backstory vague enough that the new canon and writers have a lot of room the work with).
--I think Luke dies in episode 8.
--I think Kylo Ren is redeemed in episode 9, and, along with Rey, Kylo Ren and her defeat Snoke (Darth Plaguies) finally destroyed the master of Palpatine and the legacy of Palpatine. Kylo Ren may die in the process, but...somehow...I don't think they will go this route.
--Rey and Kylo Ren, together, form a New Order of force sensitive beings that learn techniques are are more neutral in nature as opposed to Jedi-jedi or Sith-sith, thereby bringing an end to the Age of Jedi and Sith (or do they? at least until Episode 10 - 12 LOL). The new canon has been actually leaning this direction recently, about there being 'One Force', no Jedi or Sith.
--These 9 movies, imho, and even the opinion of the directors/producers, have been all about the Skywalker Family, but I think it's been about the Skywalker Family versus Darth Plaguies/Palpatine. I'm pretty sure Anakin was created by Plaguies or Palpatine through force manipulation of life, hence Anakin not having a father perse. (Think it was confirmed Plaguies in the Expanded Universe, but that's defunk now I believe).
