This made me pull up the show aimed squarely at preschoolers. And I am enjoying it WAY too much.
Those kids are adorable and the whole thing is just so comfy and positive.

Man indie animation scene is going to have a lot of trouble with the fact most working there projects are overtly online. The Lackadaisy crew are with a problem in their hands and decided to double down with the non apology.
-
I have no idea what this entails, all I know is I heard Adam Sandler as an iguana and Bill Burr as a turtle and it made me chuckle.
-
I actually liked the trailer even if I watched it dubbed. But learning your limited time on earth is close to running out has always been an interesting premise to me.
-
Makes you want to not care about their work.
-
It sure did sour my wish to watch their series, hell to even read the webcomic.
-
To be fair, it didn't do much for me, but I know there were lots of people who loved it. Oh well. Another J.K. Rowling.
-
@Satsuki yeaaaaaaaaah less than a Joanne, still bad though.
-
Harley Quinn S4
-
@Satsuki And I guess it's done. Fuck them cats.

The new Adult Swim block, Checkered Past started today. Man, it's just great to see Dexter Lab, Ed,Edd, n Eddy, Courage, and Billy and Mandy back on tv again. The bumper that they use for the block are great. They had this cool one with Dee Dee sitting on the beach looking out towards the ocean. I hope eventually Checkered Past show Cow and Chicken, Johnny Bravo, KND, and the PPG (the original).
-
Nice to see them bringing Boomerang’s lineup to Adult Swim
-
Finished My Adventures with Superman. It's amazing the three of them have exactly one brain cell, and Jimmy has full custody.
-
Zod and his army of evil kryptonians predate Invincible by a fair bit. Along with Braniac.
The new twist here is that Clark didn't have his entire backstory spoonfed to him at the start.

Kinda funny that Zod was just a single page throwaway character for a Superboy comic about the Phantom Zone Generator that they later realized had a lot more potential.
I don't think they ever brought back his army of Bizarros though.
-
Mostly new voice cast, but this looks like fun.
-
Can't have Mel Gibson back of course (good choice for Zachary Levi), but c'mon, can't more of the original be there?
I fucking loved Chicken Run, looking forward to this.
-
I just finished watching the season finale of My Adventures with Superman. It was a really good finale for the season.
-
@Robby I'm aware that Zod predates Invincible by a lot of time, I just not very into DC lore for it be the absolute first thing to come to mind for me.
-
Hope someone gets fired for this blunder. -
Saw this was available today.
-
This week in lost media, someone managed to track down the pilot for Blue Clues, titled Blue Prints at the time.
This copy of the pilot has some audio issues, but it's pretty charming all the same.
-
Also taken down by Paramount.

@Gizmo What a weird episode for them to put out online as an early tease.
It's not the first episode and it's not some random stand-alone episode that works on it's own, since it plays off what must be Hamton's arc.
Ignoring the weirdness of them picking an episode like that, it doesn't seem bad. Plucky's side-joke with renting the bed kinda flops as the joke, but the payoff of the shoes being ridiculous feels like something classic Tiny Toons would do. The end joke with Dizzy doesn't really land at all either. Either way, I'm still interested enough to see this.
-
First episode of Tiny Toons was... fine. I dunno what to think. The humor might be too young and frantic for me.
Which is fine, I'm in my 40's, I'm not the target audience, that is as it should be. Same with the most recent TMNT movie.
All the voices being new is weird but 100% understandable, they were going to have to recast half of them no matter what, and its not like Buster kept a single voice in the original anyway.
Buster and Babs being siblings is fine. Because the old "no relation" joke was one note joke that they had to use every time and it wore incredibly thin to the point it didn't even register as a joke.
They already had sibling energy anyway, so making them twins offers up different story ideas and character dynamics, and means they aren't automatically paired as a romantic couple at all times. They were only romantically linked a handful of times in the original show anyway, so its not a big loss.
Elevating Sweetie to main cast is the weirdest choice but okay.

Season 4 of Harley Quinn was good, but man did I miss the group dynamic with King Shark and Clayface.
-
@Nobodyman Yup, solid stuff, but Calyface and King Shark really made it click better.
-
Lower Decks is back, and it's great as usual.

Never played DMC but I thought his voice was supossed to have a deep tone.
-
Depends on which version.
His voice wasn’t that deep in 3.

DreamWorks has announced a new animated film called The Wild Robot. The film is based on a book by Peter Brown and follows a robot washed ashore on a deserted island living with a close-knit group of misfit animals and will be directed by Chris Sanders. I am so hyped for this!!
Sanders was the force behind Lilo and Stitch, and the co-director on the first How to Train Your Dragon. And the interesting version of Bolt that we never got. Sight unseen I'm hyped!
Sander's also worked on B&tB, Aladdin, Lion King and Mulan. He also co-directed the first Croods which I didn't love, but it was pretty easy to tell which parts were his and those were the parts I really liked.
Sadly its still so far out it doesn't even have a release year yet, but...

Finished the first ten episodes of Tiny Toons Looniversity and I found it to be perfectly serviceable entertainment.
The voice actors are fine, the characters are fine, the stories are fine, the animation is fine, it's just...not especially funny. Honestly, it almost seems like they're gearing towards an even younger audience and are more concerned with teaching moral lessons. And that's fine, I guess, but I do miss the dark cynicism the original show had.
That, and they made the interesting choice to mainly focus on just Buster, Babs, Plucky, Hamton, and Sweety, with the other Toons getting occasional minor supporting roles. A pity since I felt the variety of characters was another strength of the original, and I did tend to like Looniversity more when they brought in the other characters (the Montana Max episode was pretty good). I don't think Gogo even got a line this season.
Well, at least they got rid of Elmyra.
-
Yeah new tiny Toons was.... fine, but I'm way out of the age demographic this time around. It didn't do much for me and I was pretty done after the second episode, but my wife wanted to watch all of them so we did.
@Nobodyman said in Non-Disney animation thread:

They already confirmed the old voice actress was returning for the part, so she'll be in the second batch of eps at least once.

Ah, of course.
Well, I guess limited appearances from her are fine, as opposed to them shoving her down our throats like they did in the 90's.
-
Man I could watch 20 seasons of Lower Decks and still not be satisfied.
-
Still not a word of George Takei to be heard in it. But fucking cool

Netflix Has Released A 358-Page Multimedia Art Book For Nimona
I want it as an actual physical book.
That I would look at once and then put on a shelf and never look at it again.

New Invincible Season 2 trailer is out.
