Loved the glide joke. But they missed a bit of comedic potential by not having Sonic go Super or having Silver there. DBZ ripoffs galore.

Not too many characters can match up to him, realistically. Even Superman can't blow up a planet that easily.

I don't think any onscreen feats by Sonic even match up to Goku coming back across Snake Way in two days, let alone what we see later in the series.

Depends on if you start going into the comics or counting chaos emerald events. At that point he's done so really nutsy stuff… but yes, for the most part Sonic and his roughly 3,000 mph top speedstill doesn't much compare to anything DBZ.
(In the older games and the SatAM cartoon, he topped out at, well, the speed of sound Originally he was said to be the speed of sound, at 767 miles per hour at sea level.)

To be honest, I doubt that would kill him. It might even make him become Super Perfect Cell prematurely due to Saiyan genes.

Well, the idea of the Death Note is that it absolutely kills whoever's name is written in it and heart attack is the default cause of death. But since Cell probably doesn't have a heart (or if he did, a heart attack still wouldn't kill him) I don't know what the default method of killing him would be. Of course, Death Note and Dragon Ball are incongruent universes.

The only thing that the death note killed were humans, there's no evidence that it would do something else than heart attacks on any non human target.
