Whatever he does, why can't Inazuma just cut them a new exit?
Because then Crocodile would get left behind. Duh. :whistling:

According to Croc himself, he can dry anything out to the point that it becomes sand.
EDIT:
If Inazuma can pick locks with just his fingers, why the hell was he gathering keys earlier?
Ehm, picking locks takes time, that's common sense.
Ehm, picking locks takes time, that's common sense.
More time than collecting keys, and figuring out which damn key on the keychain fits the stupid lock?
Epic chapter, Luffy even made me laugh.

Depending, if you already have the key then yes. But it seems that most of the scans got the translation wrong.
Stephen has it:
@Ch.:
Ivankov: The lock, Inazuma!!
So it seems he picked it. Or are you refering too some other incident ?
That would make more sense, the onemanga version has
Ivankov: Inazuma!! the key!!
The new chapter was insanely amazing; one of the best in a long time, and that's saying something considering how good they've been lately.
The strength of this new team may surpass that of the entire Strawhat crew themselves o.0
I bet nobody predicted that to happen in the chapter, or really believed that a team like that would ever come together because of it pure brilliance!!! Oda usually uses his own ideas to make us think "wow" but this time he's doing the fans a big favour by thinking "you know what they really want? Two Shichibukai's (one former, but very well praised), two members of Dragon's army (both great characters) and Luffy all on one team heading to the Marine HQs to fight in the greatest battle we have yet to see since the manga started over 10 years ago!".
Really is getting good now, and it'll only get better… hurts me that there's no chapter next week.
Whatever he does, why can't Inazuma just cut them a new exit?
Perhaps it could be that whatever he cuts is also thin as paper. Well not exactly as thin as paper you know flat instead of a huge chunk. And considering that between Level 6 and Level 5 (respectively 5.5) there's a large piece of concrete it would take lots of time to cut hundreds of layers to make an escape route (since they can't cut into the regular passage ways). So perhaps Croc's ability is quicker. Don't know, just throwing out thoughts.
My question to you guys: Do you see this team getting to Marine headquarters and the site of the war, and then each member having their own individual battles ala a typical arc, or functioning more as a way of getting Luffy there? Obviously it could be a mix of the two, but just wondering what seems more plausible.
Wow. I wasn't expecting a team like this. Two Shichibukai, one legendary Okama, one of the Supernovas and a revolutionary? WOW. It would seem that the guard beasts won't nearly be enough to stop this combined force. However, we know that Crocodile isn't a friend to anyone but still, they should be able to power on up to the top level and pick up any stragglers along the way.
Sweet chapter.
I think Ivotas is right.
Inazuma might be able to make a hole with some time but now they dont have much time and crocodiel… well just one desert spada or ground death can easily make a hole compared to Inazuma. Right now the most important person in Luffy's team is crocodile because of his vast use of ablilites are more suited for this kind of situation.
And I wonder how will Luffy and his gang go to Marin HQ they might steal one ship but there might be no ship at all and crocodile might call his bananadaile or use his ability to create a boad(he created that time thing when he first fought with Luffy I think might be wrong...) humm maybe Mr.3 Will make a boat with his ablility..
I don't want to forget that Mr.1, Mr.3 and Buggy are still missing in action. Impel Down seems do far from over.
I actually think that now Luffy has a chance to see the war with this group and maybe even participate in it.
2 Shichibukai's, Iva, Inazuma and Luffy might make a good team.
I think Croc and Jinbei will have some fight just to show their current level.. about Iwankov I do not know he is powerful but since he is more of a helper type character with his ablilty and Inazuma… hmmm they might have a small fight but the major fight will probably be croc jinbei and Luffy and Mr.1,2,3 Iwankov Inazuma Buggy fighting the guards... (now come to think about it L,C,J might pawn the remaining demon gurads to show their power after all there are 3 demon guards and they are all strong if they are at minotaurus level)

I think that it would be rather chaotic if it should really get that far. Crocodile and Jinbei alone have completely different motivations on this matter but are both eager to get exactly there to the battleground.
And while I still consider Luffy to be an ant in comparison to Newgate this group as it is now actually does seem as a force to be reckoned with in this war. And we still don't know who's going to join on the way back up. If as I expect Drake, Hawkins, Urouge and Apoo are all really on Level 5 and join up too (for whatever reasons) then we'd have 5 rookies, 2 Shichibukai and 2 revolutionists entering the battleground. No matter what their individual motivations are and how superior Newgate etc. might be, such a group is bound to make everything more chaotic.
Wow, it seems so strange that Luffy has met someone he defeated so long ago and in such a major fashion again zand is now about to use him to aid his escape/rescue of Ace.
Strange but awesome.
EDIT: Oh and i can't believe that Luffy plans on following Ace to the Marine Headquaters, this just gets better and better! It shows no signs of slowing down! i love it! hahaha
EDIT 2: Greatest ending panel ever.
That settles it. Croc was once a woman, who was turned into a man by Ivankov. He felt embarrassed about the sex change, so he tried to mask all of his womanly habits by pretending to be a stereotypical man; acting greedy, ruthless and arrogant.
Epic chapter is epic.
I don't want them to leave Bon Clay behind but it looks like it'll have to happen. He'd only get in the way of Luffy's escape group now.
@Joe:

If you really think that Luffy is going to rescue Ace by the cost of leaving Bentham (a person who he calls friend and just saved his life big time) behind then you don't understand One Piece at all.
What an awesome chapter.
Also, just to make you all cry:
We all know that's what his secret is…
They're going straight up (somehow), so Luffy might pick Bon-chan up on the way.
Liked the chapter very much. Once again. Crocodile advanced in my eyes a lot when he was talking about killing WB. Never really liked WB because he seems to be too arrogant but Croco seems to be harmless. I wonder if Croco really believes in possibility of victory againts WB.
And I bet they will pick Bon Clay on the way up.
crocodile is back woooooooooooooooo
Loved it! Totally worth the wait and agonizing over ignoring the spoilers and waiting for a scanlation.
I was against the Croc getting out but after seeing the last panel I have to disagree with myself. Love the fact that Jinbei joined; can't wait to see what he can do. One hell of a team, though I expect Croc will get away from them as quickly as he can. Still waiting for Mr.3 and Buggy to make their appearance again, I suppose Luffy and the others could meet them on their way breaking out. Loved the scene with Ace calling for Luffy. Soooo looking forward for what's about to come! <3
It's gonna kill to sit through another break. ;(
ah , and now we have to wait again =( this serie is just to good to wait for =((
Somewhat slow chapter but awesome build up for the next chapter. I found it amusing that Croc was irritated by Ivan and not Luffy, the guy who beat his ass and put him Impel Down in the first place.
Great chapter to leave off on before the break. Loved that first colorspread with all the SJ characters running about. And the One Piece colorspread was just adorable. Robin telling everyone a bedtime story, awwwww.
As for the chapter itself, it was just awesome seeing Crocodile in action again. Also, I was half right about Inazuma's Devil Fruit. He/she can cut anything, but I didn't the bit about being able to manipulate it like paper. God I just can't wait two weeks! This is gonna be epic!
Croc will blast them from level 6 to level 5.5. You heard it here first !
Croc got the One Piece punishment he deserved for his actions; his "dream" was crushed, and he had no reason to go on, so to speak. At the same time, it didn't turn him into a beaten man, either. He basically just lit up a cigar, said "fuck it" with a smile on his face, and went with the flow until he found something else to do. Off to Impel Down?! Fuck it, whatever. Torture?! Sure, I don't have anywhere to be. Wuzzat? A chance to kill Whitebeard?! Well shit, my day is planned…
Not what I was expecting, but I like it. Adds to his personality.
Completely agree. I too was alittle put off by One pieces' aizen being planless, but the way you said it is also very Croc-ish (read:awesome)
Regarding Inazumas ability, the wasy I see it all we know is "ability to treat cut stuff like paper", NOT "the ability to cut up everyhting". So, Inazuma is capable of cutting the floor and the cuffs, but not everything in the universe, like whatever the cealing is made up of.
Just as long as the cuffs he cut weren't Kairoseki. That'd be weird.
waited for the full OneManga scanlation this week
didn't read whole topic
I'm sure it's been said before, but I love the last page of this chapter, visually. That is all.
What an awesome chapter.
Also, just to make you all cry:

We all know that's what his secret is…
omg that is tooo funny
do you mind if I put it in my sig?
Crocodile as just become my favourite villain. (besides Kuro, Buggy, Enel and Magellan)
Once again, only One Piece can save a horrible week of Naruto, Bleach, etc.
Somehow the only series that can't become bad/tedious
Don't know if it's been said but, Ivankov knows a secret about Crocodile when he was younger? I'ma place the theory that ol Croccy used to be a female. :)
That settles it. Croc was once a woman, who was turned into a man by Ivankov. He felt embarrassed about the sex change, so he tried to mask all of his womanly habits by pretending to be a stereotypical man; acting greedy, ruthless and arrogant.
Ah, you posted the idea first. XD

it's been said a thousand times before either of you
:wassat:
does it matter? this is a thread for discussion and fun, people take the "I said it first" way too seriously.
Let's not stray from the main topic, I wonder how Luffy compares to Croc now? I mean he didn't have any training between the time he fought Luffy the first time since he's been in Impel Down. Even Bon Clay said Luffy got stronger so Luffy should theoritically be able to own Croc now…so should everyone else.......:getlost:
I would argue that it does matter. I wouldn't say that it matters who said it first, because it doesn't. Generally though, when a thousand people all have the same idea in their heads, it's pretty much guaranteed to be wrong. Oda doesn't tend to go the expected route.
Perhaps he was a woman at some point…?
Share your ideas, I got no clue
I thought the floor (and the prisoners cuffs) was/were made out of seastone? So does that mean that Inazuma's DF messes with the whole idea of ability negation? ¬_¬.
Or do we think that it's a normal floor, normal locks and just the main body of the stuff as seastone, which would mean that his/her fruit isn't quite so broken. That makes no sense to even me. Unless they were costcutting…
...Hm. Costcutting in hell. Do you think their budget ran out after levels 4 & 5 for special effects? ;)

since they seem to be going to marineford now i hope drake is there and he joins the group. since he used to be an officer in the marines i expect him to know his way around marineford.
I'm sorry to start an argument, but I think it's okay to discussion something even though it's wrong and won't ever come true. I reiterate the fact that this is a discussion board and that is what we're doing.
And your are not acting like this but, sometimes this board gets annoying when people beat down other's opinions. For all anyone knows the other person is a 3rd grader or new to this board.
p.s. I feel that scissor fruit is a bit a throw in just to make something worth, it didn't feel fluid enough. But it's a lot better than the crap story telling that's been in Naruto and Bleach for the past few years….or whenever they started.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to belittle the idea or anything. I'm just trying to make one simple point. That point is that a lot of people had the same idea, so it's more than likely not going to happen. I'm not saying it shouldn't be discussed, but giving reasons why something wont happen is valid discussion as well.
EDIT:

I believe that Inazuma picked the locks as opposed to cutting them. The locking mechanisms themselves are probably not made out of seastone.
i remember telling someone on here that croc would join luffy and i was ridiculed lollll
I believe that Inazuma picked the locks as opposed to cutting them. The locking mechanisms themselves are probably not made out of seastone.
Yeah, from Stephen's translation I guessed that Inazuma picked it. But surely that's a pretty big defensive flaw right there? Actually…thinking back, Mr 3 must've exploited the same thing.
Croc had the same problem it seems. These people just don't want to spend the extra money to buy something that could prevent disasters. Such as heavy-duty locks. As such; that false sense of security lulled the staff into a lack of paranoia and subsequently lead to a break-in where all those various cop-outs or weaknesses could be exposed and exploited (Yeah, I know it's likely that the OP lock industry doesn't have the tools that are needed to make them out of such specialised kit. I also know that no one ever expected anyone to ever break in or even make it down that far, but it's still their own damn fault for thinking it was so 'flawlessly impenetrable').
Now we're likely to see even more structural damage done to ID, to the point where it may well no longer function properly as a prison. The hole from 2-3 looked absolutely huge, and if Croc intends to...well for lack of a better word drill upwards, it could cause the entire structure to collapse if they're not careful. Or if they try hard enough, if you look at it differently.
Oda is God.
