Read the chapter and to be honest I hope noah stays dead! His a crap villian, all he talks about is wanting everything in the world which is the same as world domination. Can okubo focus on asura, madusa, justin and the clowns now?
Soul Eater COMING TO TOONAMI FINALLY
-
-
The only indicative Arachne is not entirely dead is this one:
-
I know there was one other thing I didn't remember.
-
Y'know what I got from that fight against noah. Is that he's a poke'mon master.
-
I always took that scene as just a wow she died awesome!!! that's just like her
kind of an admiration thing, the soul was eaten, I think that's that no coming back from that
-
Noah: A crap end to a crap villain.
Man, Soul Eater has really fallen from graces.
Its starting to become Bleach, where nothing makes any sense. -
Atleast in Soul Eater, it doesnt take 10 years to finish one arc, if theres a bad arc theres still a chance for the next arc to be good. For Bleach theres no hope.
-
Noah: A crap end to a crap villain.
Man, Soul Eater has really fallen from graces.
Its starting to become Bleach, where nothing makes any sense.…..... I'm sorry but shut up, it's nothing like Bleach this is what I hate everytime there's one bad arc everyone talks about how bad somethings become it's frustrating it's like a lot of people can't remember the good and the arc there in defines the series to them god damn it people
-
Well said, choperman. And this arc wasnt' even bad in the first place, it's like some forget about the past developments such as the return of the great, the unique, Excalibur. Plus we still don't know if Tezca is dead, and same goes for Noah whom many are seriously underestimating.
I don't know what will happen next, but this month's chapter could very well shut some babbling mouths, specially since we know there's a missing meister among the teacher's group. This is a first, then there's Noah's smirk before being hit, and then there's Kid, who had a strange reaction upon looking at Tezca's corpse.
-
I liked the part when they were going through the book.
-
i liked how Tsubaki was revealed to be the 2nd perviest of the group, and black star said something like
"hmm…we usually sleep together, maybe that's not such a good idea anymore" -
No, she was the horniest. She was just a little bit slower than Lizz at turning back .
-
i know. i was including blair in the equation.
after liz and tsubaki changed back, blair said that she was still a tom but didn't care.
she openly admitted she was a perv and called the other two girls foolish for being shameful in defeat and making a big deal out of it.Yeah, tsubaki was the horniest of the kids, but i like blair so i'm not gonna ignore her.
-
I loved that part! And the fact that Maka didnt change much when a boy, I laughed so hard! And Black Star's "Wooooooooooow I have boooobs!!"
-
^ yeah, the flat-chest joke made me snicker to myself.
i also thought it was funny how maka got a nosebleed from looking at the seducer woman.
"i…i think i finally understand guys a little better" or something like that XDThough it IS true that men's minds are more commonly impure than women's minds.
more testosterone = hornier. -
Yea lol! I loved that little bit haha. I guess you could say it kinda added to Maka's development :P, maybe she wont spaz out on her dad or Soul as much :)
-
I literally laughed my ass upon reading Soul's reaction at Maka's nosebleed.
-Hey, what the hell's so great about that thing? Oh, so "men just big boobs, is that it?"
I would never expect Soul saying something along these lines, but of course, that was just in his female persona.
And Excalibur's speech only to end up saying he was captured by Noah, rofl…
-
The over-the-top reaction faces from black star had me rolling when excalibur showed up. XD
-
But I gotta admit that as a girl, I thought Blair was really hot as a guy!My mouth dropped :P and so was Tsubaki, untill "he" started constantly making faces about being caught being horny :P
-
…..... I'm sorry but shut up, it's nothing like Bleach this is what I hate everytime there's one bad arc everyone talks about how bad somethings become it's frustrating it's like a lot of people can't remember the good and the arc there in defines the series to them god damn it people
In this forum 1 arc makes or breaks a series.
@MDL:

that indeed was the funniest moment in soul eater.
-
My favorite part is when the tossed Excalibur into space and time, even if they were so close to wielding power broken enough to finish the arc quickly.
-

Arc was good, single chapter of the conclusion was underwhelming.
choperman's point stands.
-
It might be just me, but I think the Index has been on Noah's side the whole time.
As some possible proof:

That rubik's cube looks like it had TOC's design on it but that would mean that noah was using TOC not the other way around.
-
The best moment of this arc was the Too Brief Excalibur cameo, but it had some other good comedic moments here and there. It really didn't have anything else though, and as a whole it's kind of pointless and lackluster.
New villain with diffuse goals is defeated without really doing anything. At all.
Leftover villain from previous arc dies.
Gopher does nothing.
Justin got away again, joins up with new bad guys. Hasn't really done anything
Nothing really new with Kishin, Medusa or Chrona.
The trip through the book gave some good bits of comedy, but was poorly executed. Rather than an impel-down like Gauntlet of different levels, the different chapter settings were rushed underutilized past, and the entire thing could have been over in seconds if the characters had just jumped chapters immediately.Just about the only thing that was accomplished was Kid being saved, restoring the status quo change that Arachnophobia Arc introduced.

Actually, you can legitimately compare Soul Eater to bleach regarding a few issues. Ohkubo has the same love of Style, and will often use considerable chapter space to give the art more "impact". I mean, what the hell is up with the pages having 50% panels, 50% white between panels.
Compared to something like FMA soul Eater is slow, and when your current arc is lackluster then that DOES matter a lot when you're a monthly series.
Remember: It's been nearly two years since the Arachnophobia arc ended. That's quite different than Soul Eater losing it's edge only just now.
-
@The:

Show me his corpse or his soul, please.
Leftover villain from previous arc dies.
You missed the whole point of his involvement in the arc.
Gopher does nothing.
Got the book, and that's enough.
Justin got away again, joins up with new bad guys. Hasn't really done anything
He's about to join Asura. That's nothing for you?
Nothing really new with Kishin, Medusa or Chrona.
Well, that's what you expected to see. Cheer up.

Sure, specially when they only had one path to follow with some additional conditions to advance through the book. It didn't feel rushed for me.
Just about the only thing that was accomplished was Kid being saved, restoring the status quo change that Arachnophobia Arc introduced.
I suggest you to wait for the next chapter that will be out this week. We'll see if only the Kid issue was accomplished.

Dude, what are you trying to tell with that statement. Kubo's writing and pace sucks, Ohkubo can make as much white panels or almost identical panels as he wants and yet the plot still will progress smoothly.
Seriously, what's the deal with some users in these forums?
-
I'm kinda with Daz, honestly, the SALVAGE arc had some high points but overall could have been executed MUCH better.
I don't think his complaints are off base at all.

Fine, but don't forget the arc still has to wrap up, and that in turn could make the whole thing better. It happens often, when something you think it didn't make any sense at first becomes understandable later…
Still, the Bleach comparisons, even if it's about minor things... No, just no.
-
Daz does make some valid points. This arc wasn't terrible, but here are my thoughts on it.
The arc started off strong; we had the main cast with a few minor characters going to save the missing member of the main cast. We all wanted Kid back, so we can't complain with the direction it went. The arc had huge promise when they entered the book and they gender-swapped. Anyone who didn't find that absolutely HILARIOUS likely doesn't have a since of humor (I'm sure we'll always remember the classic "Woah I have huge tits!" line from Black Star XD). As they progressed through the book, we were kept interested in the events as they dealed with each sin. Someone on the previous page mentioned how they were able to find out Tsubaki was the most lustful of all of them, which was great. And of course, we all loved… EXCALIBUR! When he showed up he made that chapter the best chapter of Soul Eater, in my opinion anyway. He showed up in Anger, which was perfect. It was out of the blue, and he had a good [hilarious] reason for why he was trapped there. So yeah, that was the high point of the arc.
Things did go downhill after that though. The fight with Giriko was far too long and fillerish, and overall uninteresting, which was a shame considering he was the most interesting villain of them all. Kid and Black Star had a small fight that went nowhere, which wouldn't have been a problem if they didn't build up to it for 2 chapters, but they made it seem like it would be this big "Rematch" or "Determining" that it just wasn't. Then the strongest forces we knew (like Stein) got owned extremely easily. And if Tesca really is dead then that's a BIG mark against the series, not just this arc (I'm sill clinging to hope though). Justin running away again was kinda dumb; I think the author may just like him a lot so he keeps bringing him along for each upcoming arc. And Noah, despite being somewhat of a pain, was taken down very easily. Plus to me, he just wasn't that interesting of a villain. I had hoped he may have had a bigger plan once he collected everything, but no, he just wanted to collect things to become God.
And of course there were minor things that even occurred before this arc that wasn't so great. Justin's really stupid transformation, or Gopher in general (nothing about his character was ever appealing, he was just a constant annoying). So in short, pros of this arc were the times spent inside the book, the characters they encountered while there, and generally the comedic value of it all. Cons were fights that were lacking, and characters and character traits we could've done without. So overall, I'd give this arc a solid 7/10, which is "Good" in my book. That's my thought on the subject.

Which transformation do you think was stupid? His full-weapon form as a Guillotine, or his descent into Madness? If the former, it did look kind of weird, and it seemed kind of useless considering how easily Medusa escaped from it. As for him becoming insane, I kind of expected it. He's the youngest Death Scythe (excluding Soul), and has had no partner for the 3 years he has been one. With the insanity waves flying all around, I'm really not surprised at all. He reminds me of Kefka Palazzo, honestly.
Gopher is stupid. The face he makes when he's pissed is stupid, and his exploitation of Kid's hatred of asymmetry is cliche. His fight against Maka and Soul consisted of him using the same two attacks over and over, and was stupid, too.
Tezca getting one-shotted was really lame. Like you, I hope that it was just a mirror reflection.
Edit: On another note, is this Tezca without his bear head?

There, in the upper left panel.
-
I hated the first transformation, when fighting Medusa. It looked like to me like an Arrancar from Bleach fused with Bixlow from Fairy Tail. I completely forgot the 2nd one you just mentioned to be honest, lol.
And that might be him. I forgot the context that scene was in… damn, I think I need to reread the entire last arc :P lol
-
Uh, isn't that just the Clown?
-
Not the best of arcs, and I'm not really liking Noah's death but as a whole it finished strong and was decent all-in-all.
-
For what it's worse this arc was fun, it wasn't as good as Baba Yaga Castle which still holds the best fight in SE history.
Oh yeah I don't think noah's dead since TOC questioned his death which leads it open.
-

I hope you're referring to Mosquito vs. Kid.
-
Is there any other fight in Soul Eater worth referring to?
… well yes but not during that arc, lol
-

Mifune vs. Blackstar was good, but nothing compared to Kid vs. Mosquito.
-
I'm fine with saying it's not the best arc, it's not but don't judge the whole series as horrible and will continue to do bad no matter what off that there's plenty to go and please dear god don't compare it to Bleach
-
Besides, a bad ending does not mean a bad arc. Almost every chapter has been pretty good and we got some good moments.
You people need to learn how to judge things better than this.
-
@Fire Fist:
I hope you're referring to Mosquito vs. Kid.
nope
Black*Star vs. Mifune (round 3)
Kidd and Free vs. Mosquitto was neat but to me it ended short since Mosquitto (as I remember) was killed by Noah than noah traps Kidd an Free got ignored (as I said before this is what I remember and when it comes to monthly series I tend to forget past happenings since i'm always catching up to another series)
at least both of those fights were entertaining. Maka's battle with Arachne bored me….Maka as a character bore's me
-
Maka's character is really a support for Soul's if you think about it, aside from her turning crazy there isn't that much character development for her to warrant herself as the protagonist.
Blackstar vs Mifune was my favorite fight of all as well, really for a bunch of One Piece fans, we shouldn't be complaining that the fights sucked when the arc itself was full of adventure and comedy. Not that One Piece really fails to deliver when it comes to fighting, but we have learned to appreciate things besides the fights, otherwise we'd all be reading felch.
-
About the fight with Giriko, one of Ohkubo's ramblings in the latest released volume comments how the Sloth chapter slowed every single movement, making Giriko's pain even more lenghty and Maka's uneasiness more durable. Basically Ohkubo wanted to make the reader note how each chapter affects the characters, and for the Sloth one he purposely used many pages and panels to portray the so called effects.
Just like characters were raging during their stay in the Wrath chapter or being greedy like BlackStar in the Greed chapter. Etc.
Maka's hasn't received much development in comparison with other characters from the main cast, but after her bad experiences during the Envy chapter, this very well could change.
Oh, and I hate NF. Can't believe I found someone who hates both Kid and… Excalibur.
-
If your a fictional character that lives in the SE universe I can see that person hating excalibur.
but as a reader….why?
-
STUPID! Excalibur is the most awesome character of all.
-
Here come the spoilers for this month's chapter:
! In order to chase Justin by himself, Tezca faked his death, but the other adults weren't "in" on this plan at all. In fact, Shinigami-sama told Tezca to not go alone. Since Justin's soul was reflected on his mirror, Tezca knows Justin's location.
! Now here comes the big plottwist. TOC was the one pulling the strings from behind. With his powers, he created the first Noah as the personification of the Greed. With this one gone, TOC makes a new Noah who is the personification of Wrath, but keeping the memories from his previous self intact. An overjoyed Gopher runs to him only to be the first to taste how dangerous is the new Noah and gets beaten up badly, but he apparently likes it.
! Eibon failed at some point to seal completely TOC in the book, so this one got freed and created the greedy Noah.
! Chrona returns. That's all for now. There will be more.
EDIT:
! TOC made the greedy Noah with the only aim of gaining the Brew, and after Noah accomplished that goal, TOC didn't care anymore and let him go by himself.
-
sounds good, and completely rights two possible wrongs in my eyes.
-
Wow, those are some interesting spoilers, doesn't the second Soul Eater series also start this month?
Should be a good month for Soul Eater.
-
These spoilers certainly fix a few things, especially what concerns Tezca and Noah.
However, the fact that Stein, Marie and Sid got beaten to a pulp remains.
-
still, we got a good result. 3 bad things narrowed down to 1 bad thing is still a great deal :D
-
Wait new Soul Eater anime? When does it start? And why dont I know about this?? And its bones right?
