Well this week's chapter cleared up one of my biggest problems with last chapter, justification for Danzo being leader. Also Sakura finally seems to accept that Sasuke needs to be taken care of.
All in all a good chapter.

Actually, the part that I find most exciting about this chapter is the possibility of the Konoha 12 getting in the action. Though Kishi has dashed those hopes many times in the past.

Actually, the part that I find most exciting about this chapter is the possibility of the Konoha 12 getting in the action. Though Kishi has dashed those hopes many times in the past.
They didn't help during the Pain arc, a villain who had 6 bodies and a flunky, and different strengths and weaknesses for each. PERFECT for the crew to take on. But nope. Instead, Naruto got to 1-shot most of them.
The rookie 12 aren't ever doing anything ever again. Ever.
Especially not Rock Lee.

I think that was coincidental. Massacreman was an alt for another member and hadn't been used for over two years before going active again. Jack Flash hit on very specific topics, suggesting he was either a lurker or someone recently banned. Additional evidence - if he used a pHp proxy it's a good sign he doesn't know his way around the internet, something people of age would have figured out or would know where to ask.
That he patrolled the OP chapter discussion is also a dead giveaway he's not an older, banned member - anyone who's been here for more than two years isn't going to be so hardcore on a new OP topic like that.

eh, you're right, it's hopeless.
Don't stop dreaming. If no one else Shikamaru is going to do something. Kishi actually likes him enough to involve him occasionally.
Also you're not alone in hoping the 12 get to do something. That line from Sai about relying on Naruto too much is hopefully foreshadowing to allow the others to have some screentime. If nothing else the promise that they're going to hunt Sasuke down and 'Take care of him' is enough to justify this chapter as being one of the better one's post time skip thus far.

You know, I do have to admit that I am really liking Sai these last few chapters, if only because he's shown that he has the balls to get down to brass tacks and actually do something. And yes, that line alone about "we have to stop always relying on Naruto" gives him extra brownie points in my book.
EDIT: On another note, we won't be getting any Naruto for two weeks. Oh, whatever shall we talk about till then?

It's about time a medical ninja surgically removes Sasuke's eyes. Maybe then the manga will pick up again, I'm not saying it'll castrate him, blind ninja could still be lethal, but he won't be taking on entire countries anytime soon with magical eye techniques.
And Shikamaru in charge again makes me warm inside =) Kiba even had a line this chapter X_x
Aaanyway, despite the fact that Mifune was under control of the Hokage, his reasoning was sound, the only other leader that could lead the alliance is the Mizukage, but who knows what her deal is, or if Kakashi ends up becoming Hokage somehow.
I haven't had pizza in about a month, I'm going to order some today.

I think Sasuke should fall while just walking on some stairs and DIE; exactly like what happened to Kuina. Someone comes to Naruto tells him the people die speech and everyone walks away without any of this bs drama or worring over a freakin traitor.

I've secretly hoped that Shikamaru would lead a second mission to break Sasuke's arms, legs and blind him since the Deidara fight, and it looks like it may happen yet. Honestly I'm surprised the girls may be going along though, perhaps one of them may even DO something?
Come on Tenten and Ino, you can do it.
Also Kiba, Lee and Chouji need to get involved more. Taijutsu specialists are largely ignored despite previously being a counter of sorts to the Sharingan.

The best part of the chapter: Zetsu appearing out of nowhere just going "Helloooo". That made me crack a smile. The rest…yeah, enough stupidity to last two weeks.

There is one thing in this chapter that I feel they didn't emphasize enough. To use the parlance of our times, Shikamaru completely owned Naruto. Seriously, the lesson that took Naruto the 'climax' of a completely bullshitty arc to learn was something that Shikamaru can think of off the top of his head. There's Naruto who's trying his hardest to remember the damn thing by yelling it to himself, while Shikamaru just recites it with ease.

When Sasuke crosses some sort of line that makes him irredeemable in their eyes, the other rookie teams will go and try to kill them, but Naruto will one-shot all of them to protect his
boyfriendbest friendboyfriend. Afterwards, they'll only appear in an epilogue chapter congratulating Naruto on becoming Hokage.Seriously, though, I have a question: is reading the earlier parts of Part 2 (start of it to when Hidan and Kakuzu show up) worth it? I've been trying to get caught up on Bleach over the summer, and once I finish that, I might try to get caught up on Naruto, but I figure that I should ask if it's any better than what I've already read (Hidan and Kakuzu onwards) beforehand.

Lee would be cool if Kishi cared about the underdog overcoming odds to succeed…but considering Gaara...and Kimimaro...and the fact that the ultimate underdog was essentially a tool by his Hokage daddy and always had the uber-fox inside him all this time anyway...yeah, way to ruin a concept, Kishi.
And while I do want Ino and Tenten to do something...that was doomed the moment Kishi gave them a second X-chromasome...and realised he wasn't nor will ever be a shonen mangaka that used females right. But hey, I still care when they have at least a panel that show they still exist. (at least it's not like Bibimba in Kinnikuman...now that's a dissapearing act)

I can't answer that. I didn't see Rock Lee fight since Part one. Also Rock Lee never fought Neji in Gates form. He was waiting for the exams, ut he had to use it on Gaara. I don't see how Neji is going to get away for Gates Lee. When was it stated Lee fioght shika??? Obviously Naruto/sasuke is going to ber stronger.

#459 was quite exciting this week. There's a lot of doubt being thrown around on all sides and and Danzô's reaction to being 'found out' wasn't as sour as you'd think. I wonder if this is a part of a greater scheme? Only time will tell.
On the Rookie Nine front we see an raising of arms against Sasuke and a terribly guilt-stricken Sakura make up her mind. While it's almost certain everything they plan to do will not wind up happening when they finally get there, it'll be interesting to see if ten (eleven including Sai) shinobi can make it there in such a short time, espicially with so many ninja. We might just wind up with a clustercluck of shinobi ala the current happenings in One Piece.
At this point I really don't think anything is going to stop Naruto from his goal. If anything the decision of the Rookies comes off as Kishimoto upping the stakes even further for him and in all likelyhood the next time Naruto meets Sasuke there will likely be a good ten chapters of back and forth talk, likely more monologing on Naruto's side.
You know, it's sort of ironic: Sasuke, the great elite Uchiha once had everyone's faith and admiration, while now it Naruto the boy once shunned as a demon with the love, faith, and admiration of the whole village, but even more importantly to him, the utter trust of his fallen beloved master.
