The movie had something to do with it as well as how more elaborate in scale the Marineford chapters were. With all the crowd shots (since it's a war) he probably drew alot more than he normally would. Even a simple talking scene had action going on in the background with people fighting.

Dude was insanely busy that year, far above and beyond the call of duty. That he managed to do even 15 page chapters and only had like 3 more breaks than usual is pretty insane.
I mean the war was one of the most hyped up, and can as well be considered the most important arc in the first half of the story, and it's a shame that dude was too busy to make it as good as it should be. I mean it's a misfortune.
Eh, the entire war was just the preview for the actual series finale in 10 years anyway. It was just the halftime show.

I suspect Zabuza and Haku are the next to cross over. Eh, hopefully Zabuza hugs Haku before he goes this time. If it takes a 'moving' of the persons heart to move on, couldn't Haku and Zabuza technically 'suicide' themselves by sharing their feelings? Or, just have Kakashi fight them and they nostalgia to death.

Zabuza and Haku's story was resolved. It was subtle, it was daring, it was magnificent.
It can only go downhill from here, I wouldn't even waste the energy on hoping.
At least Jiraiya CANNOT come back, if he did well I don't know what I would say. Asuma coming back was a disgrace in itself.

It's just Kishi's response to "poor character development."
The Sasori becoming a good guy and dying and also thing with Sai and his brother…..yeah, that was stupid.
All Kishi is doing is trying to develop some characters. Like Shikamaru with Asuma, which is fucked up to begin with. So messed up on Kishi's part. Asuma was going to be a dad!
Also, Kishi just wanted it to seem more believable that the Akatsuki had a chance in the war..hence all those damn Zetsus.

To be honest, Asuma's death wasn't all that bad. I liked the notion of a powerful Jounin (even though we really didn't see much evidence of it), son of the 3rd, dying. In fact, more deaths would have been appreciated. But I guess because this is a shonen, that's a tall order? It's what happened after Asuma's death that really ticked me off. Everything from bad character development, right down to the very scene in which it took place. That boring plain field… Because ninja would travel openly like that.
Eh... This war is starting off horribly. Ninja spreading out to protect what exactly? Why is Madara attacking them? Why not demolish unprotected cities of the world right now and lead the world leaders to panic? Why not lay the world to ruin? I don't understand at all the formation, nor the logic behind it. Not to mention the fact that we now know that Madara has an elementary understanding about how to be a villain. Why keep Kabuto around? Why confess that you are suspicious of him? It's so damn confusing. And to top it off, more training to waste valuable time that could be used to develop at least one (new?) character.

I think there both good manga writers they just don't give a shit anymore because no matter what they do it sells… they have the potential to be good, they just don't want to put the effort in

I don't think Kubo is a good manga writer by any stretch of the imagination. I honestly think that in the very beginning Bleach was good but it has long since lost the point. The bad parts are so much more frequent than the good that it's more likely that they were flukes than anything else.
He's commented on numerous occasions that he is utterly satisfied with his work as it is ("with conveying Aizen's emotions at the end of Deicide" he says in an interview), and has said even more often that he comes up with things often on a whim (in another interview, he commented that he thought to make Aizen the villain of the Soul Society arc only after he had already killed him). That's right: the great big "masterstroke" of Soul Society that Bleach fans will swear on was NOT planned out.
He has to read back through his volumes to remind him of previous developments - which is telling, in a manga that is almost 75% fighting, 15% character development and 10% plot… and that's being generous.
Bleach is essentially a soulless, repetitive, modern day equivalent of all the bad parts of latter Dragonball (Z). It is all style and ZERO substance.

It seems like the battle will unfold with Kakashi's team, Sai, Omoi, and Neji versus the Kekkei Genkai team and Zabuza.
! Not sure which of the zombies would be considered team Kekkei Genkai, but it looks like decent match-ups so far, barring Sai (why is he involved?), and hopefully some of this is resolved with actual fighting, not just talk-no-jutsu.
This is not a good chapter, but it's far better than talk no jutsu or Edo hax explanation.
Why did Kishi set up all these groups and teams if they are just instantly going to merge anyway.

I believe this is the last arc in naruto, so I thought kishi would at least try for a last time, but the whole arc is already doomed and without any hope of redemption.

use the seals of Dog-Sheep-Tiger, and hopefully you can stop it. For example, like with your Sharingan. And the other way should probably be sealing the souls of the ones that are Edo Tensei'd.

Just to clarify, I was just pointing out the characters that grouped together. Most likely they aren't all going to have panels showing off them fighting fodder.
Edit: And I eat my words. Hinata's attack is apparently a combo with Neji and it's an old attack.
The plus side is that the ninjas all do seem to attack the zetsus.
