Breaking Bad

They're MINERALS, Marie!

this is so perfect
I thought he was serious for a second when he said Hank wins and then a series of lulz started

! by the way guys, the house won't burn. We saw it intact during the flashforward in the 9th episode

! You can also see it intact in the preview for the next episode. Not sure why we're writing in spoilers btw.

So a long time ago I went to watch this series everyone was talking about, but season 1 was pretty meh. I watched the whole season but wasn't very interested so I stopped at the firsy one of season 2. Now since everyone's talking about it again I picked up where I left off and it immediately got great right where I left off last time. Now I'm hooked, marathoned it till episode 12 which just. won't. finish. downloading. aaaaargh. This is way too addicting.
-
Wow. Jesse. Wow.
-
OH SHIT HERE COMES TODD MOTHERFUCKER
i predicted Todd was going to be the one who fucks everything up when I saw Walt was wearing his jacket in the flash-forward (implying he killed him). looks like it's gonna be the case
-
! Well, we all knew Jesse would be going against him. But he probably fucked himself and Hank by not talking to Walt. I wasn't really at the edge of my seat this week (with Walt Jr. in the dark as ever, and Marie wasting precious Breaking Bad time with her therapist) but it was still a pretty good episode. A stepping stone for batshit crazy stuff next week. Looking forward to it.
-
! Damn, four episodes left…...the pay-off's gonna blow our minds.
! I'm dying to see what Jesse will do.....but if this whole series had taught us anything, you can't do battle against Walt and expect to win so easily. What's he planning, with Todd? AGH!
! Wonder if Jr. will ever find out in the end? -

! Wonder if Jr. will ever find out in the end?! Jr. definitely has to find out. In the flashfoward he isn't even Walt anymore, so he left the family probably by the vacuum guy. Jr. definitely has to notice that… And with Todd, it looks like Walt finally considers Jesse a rabid dog. What his plan is exactly is anybody's guess, but no doubt it's to kill Jesse now.
! I'm hoping that the next 3 episodes are intense and eventually collide with the flashforward and the last ep takes place in the flashforward. God, I'm so excited because I have no idea what to expect each week.
! I find it odd how I consider Walt to be such an ass and I love Jesse so much, but I'm still rooting for Walt. -
! NOOOOO NOT GALE GODDAMN YOU WRITERS.
….. yeah, I'm still at season 3 -
! NOOOOO NOT GALE GODDAMN YOU WRITERS.
….. yeah, I'm still at season 3He's in the show that airs after Breaking Bad right now, lol.
Different personality, though.

Anxiety the television show
i don't know if ending it that way is worse than just showing what we know happens, it's that s3 end cliffhanger all over again
-
BUAHGNAERJKLSGNDF VHIA NFBYHUFGNBUIHVANREFGVJKNFVJHIBECF
GAEKLJNGAJKDFN;JKGBFNKJLGNADF
RAE_GN_KSJAGNAJLKRGNJKAGNKThat's my reaction to the ending of this episode.
-
Damn, that episode was insane.
! Yep, totally knew that Todd's group was gonna show up at the end.
! So my guess is that Hank and Gomez will take out most of Todd's crew, but also end up being killed themselves. This will, of course, prompt Walt to kill Todd and whatever other survivors there are.
! And I was on the edge of my seat when Walt was in Brock's house. -
! Right after Walt hung up and started getting arrested I knew the group was still going to show up. Walt couldn't get arrested because of what they've shown in the flashforwards. I don't see any way that Jesse, Gomez, and Hank can live now. I hate the cliffhanger though.
-
Despite hanging up the phone and changing his mind, Walt
! told them the coordinates anyway so you essentially knew how the ending was going to come about.
What I found really interested is that Walt mentioned he considered Jesse family. Not that I would've assumed him to think of Jesse as a terrible person or anything, but still.
-
I still wonder why Walt got the ricin in the flashforward.
-
! How the hell are Hank, Jesse and Gomey getting out of this one? I got a terrible gut feeling when Hank told Marie "I might not be home for a while. I love you…" before hanging up. They are so horribly outgunned and there is no one who can help them out in the middle of buttfuck nowhere. I think they are finished... FUCK you Walt!
-
! Welp Hank's dead. No two ways going about it. After the I love you speech? Dead. They were honestly kinda laying it on way too thick at the end but whatever. Jesse might escape but Hank is dead. What's tragic is that it ultimately was an accident on Walt's part. I wonder how he's going to explain this to Skyler. Oops, sorry honey, I accidentally killed your brother-in-law.
-
! Seems like Walter disappears in the next episode according to the preview:
Would be funny if he ends up a prisoner of another meth empire.
-
My pet theory is that Walt actually gets away with it. The bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people ending. Like the Godfather.
-
@Thousand:

I just can't see it. He's ruined too many lives to just get away with everything he's done.

I think Lydia will end up being the death of of him.

! My god.
That ending.
I was expecting Hank's head to blow up and then…
the end.
O_O
No.
Fuck!
Can't wait now.
Frigging frick. -

Frigging frick.! If Hank goes out I'm going to be completely numb for the rest of the season…
-
! If Hank goes out I'm going to be completely numb for the rest of the season…
! I can see Hank dying, Jesse surviving and Walt being used for a while by Todd's uncle until he goes all out and kills them all. In the end, I can see Walt alone, no family, no friends. Still alive, still with his cancer. But alone and sad and somewhere far from home.
Anyway. There's one thing that keeps puzzling me, though
! That scene with Marie and her shrink, the last ep. She mentioned poison to kill Walt. I dont think thiis is going to happen, but after Hank's death she may attempt to Walt's life. I myself highly doubt it, but that scene just keeps playing in my mind. She may still try to kidnap Sky's little child or end up with Walt's money.
-
! Todds uncle and his men are proffesional killers and they can't shoot gomez and hank with mashine guns while they clearly were aiming at them. This is seriosly too much unrealistic to swallow. Other than this problem I had with the episode, it was still great and even the shootout was still intense.

There's the possibility they were hit while moving to cover, and we just haven't seen it yet.

! I'm pretty sure Gomez was hit, wasn't he? I think I saw blood on his shirt.
-
Considering the number of people on each side, it should be very clear who comes out victorious at the end, but maybe they are gonna pull something unexpected, like taking walt as a shield and driving off with his car.
-
! I'm pretty sure Gomez was hit, wasn't he? I think I saw blood on his shirt.
! I don't see any blood, but he has a pained look on his face.
-

http://i.imgur.com/tbGO9i4.jpg! Hmm, maybe it was the shade on his shirt that I mistook for blood.
! In any event, as far as Todd's group not hitting them, keep in mind that Hank and Gomez are also trained officers who have been in gunfights before. If anything, I'm kinda surprised Hank and Gomez didn't take one or two of Todd's guys since they had more targets. -
! Seems like Walter disappears in the next episode according to the preview:
Would be funny if he ends up a prisoner of another meth empire.
! Isn't that pretty clearly referring to Walt using Saul's guy to disappear with a new identity?
-
! I really hated this episode for ending in the middle of that intense shoot-off! Like, come on!
! But we're definitely gonna see some deaths next episode. My money's on Todd and Gomez. -
! Isn't that pretty clearly referring to Walt using Saul's guy to disappear with a new identity?
! I don't know, would he leave Skyler behind? "Wondering when you thought you'd be back" does seem to imply it was voluntary though.
-
! after that phone convo with Marie, I highly doubt hank is gonna make it out alive
-
! after that phone convo with Marie, I highly doubt hank is gonna make it out alive
! It was the 'one day away from retirement' kind of call. Very cliché. Which is why I'm almost wondering if he does escape with his life at least because Vince is extremely genre-savvy and knows that we'll all interpret the call that way
-
he is pretty genre savy, but he's not gonna pull punches just because we see it coming. Everything about that moment from the dialogue, to Marie holding the phone showing off her engagement ring was planned out
The fact is, even if what we are led to think is coming comes, it still would be a thousand times more emotional than the alternative. And I can't help but feel like the entirety of the show, of the Walt v hank story, has led up to this exact moment. Neither of them are gonna get out of this unscathed. This is the 'bad' coming down on walt's head, and I can only imagine it gets worse from here
-

! Maybe, but at the same time you are writing characters. So you have to ask yourself, is that something Hank would do? It's one thing to include it just to mess with viewers but it's another if it's something you can't NOT include due to character development. I mean Hank's total spite for Walt, his NEED to come out on top and finally having him in cuffs, needing to brag about it (and Marie is the only person to whom he can do so), and wave at him and rub it in… that's just Hank. Who knows what's next.

! Oh, yes, certainly, it totally fits Hank. It also serves a useful narrative function in letting Marie be the only one to know what went down in the desert who wasn't actually there, allowing her to possibly go public with Heisenberg

How is this surprising at all? After all they've been through and Walt saving his ass for 5 seasons… the dude ran over 2 of Gus' men to save his life and pretty much signed his own death warrant with Gus. You don't think they were that close?
! Isn't that pretty clearly referring to Walt using Saul's guy to disappear with a new identity?
! I don't think so yet. Walt still has a lot to do. He has to deal with Todd and co. They're gonna bail him outta there, but he still owes them. Well at least they think he owes them. I don't think they'd let him get away without cooking. I also picture him telling Skyler before he does something like that. That's just my prediction.

First of all we have no idea how the cliffhanger situation from this last episode will resolve, so you are making a lot of assumptions. But from a purely objective standpoint there are only three episodes left. It's going to have to happen very soon.

! Well yeah, but we know for sure Walt gets out of this arrest, and with Hank having incriminating evidence, he likely dies. I personally think this is a safe assumption, with Hank's heartfelt "we got him, I love you" thing with Marie. But then after Walt's freed, Jack and co. are probably expecting a thank you from him, when in reality he'd be infuriated for killing his brother in law even though he said to stop, which would cause a lot of tension between them. I mean, it is all assumption, but this is just a prediction. Gilligan could throw a curveball or something. But no doubt, his identity swap will happen soon. I just don't think it'd be right away in this next episode because in the flash forward, things look to have escalated very quickly (big gun in the trunk, picking up ricin). I don't think he needs 3 episodes to conclude it. Maybe at the very end of the next episode, but I don't see him disappearing right after this to vanish just yet.
-
! Watching the episode again, there's a lingering shot of Walt watching Skyler with Walt Jr at the checkout right before he gets Hank's faked photo. I can see that being a 'the last time I saw them' kind of deal, but with three episodes left, that might be too much time for Walt to leap into flashforward territory without his beloved family
-

For all we know the last episode will be dedicated to aftermath. But regardless, there is the matter of showing his whole process of abscondence, some of what happened during the period he was gone, and then what he's going to do once he comes back, the ricin, etc. So I don't see why it couldn't happen next time, even including the scenario you provided (which again we don't even know who will survive and how it will resolve).

That's true, I guess I'm just really hoping it doesn't happen so early. I want him to face some consequences first, rather than just closing up shop so early. Even though I'm really anxious to get into the flashforward already, I wouldn't mind waiting another week.

Not surprised. I said I found it interesting. I knew they were that close, especially for the reasons you mentioned. He considered him family despite how he used him and the terrible things Jesse went through (Hank beating him up, Brock being poisoned, manipulating Jesse to break off his relationship, etc.), and also in light of Jesse trying to light his house on fire.

Still, I feel it's a bit wild to assume he just called the vacuum man going by the trailer, even with the flashforwards as evidence. If anything, I feel there's still something left to happen involving Todd and Lydia and Walt.
But then again, I hardly ever see any speculation (especially mine) come true for this show.
