I want the thread to stop and die a slow and torturous death right after the second-to-last possible post on page 99. That would be eerily fitting.
Well, that was kind of disappointing….

It can only be disappointing if you had expectations.
Years of reading Gantz and were any real questions answered. Not Really, and if i cared at this point i would be extremely upset. As it is i can't shake this overwhelming sense of apathy and a bit of morbid curiosity. Was all of it planned or did he just BS his way thru writing it.
Well that was lame. Even I expected something a bit less by the book than that.
So whatever happened to that guy who played translator for the guy investigating the Gantz balls? And what happened to him as well? For the life of me I just can't remember if they ever showed up again after parting ways.

I half expected for them to die, and the aliens to successfully take over the planet.
I guess Oku went soft.
Morale of the story? If you date a girl with big tits, you lose. Small tits ftw.

The morale of the story is don't eat someone else's pudding cup.

I think Kaze is off pretty good.

Seconded :wub::wub::wub:.
Also big tits die, small tits live.
Nerdy girls are better waifus than models.
Damn Oku so deep

Tae technically died though….. I just remembered what a major asshole Izumi was.
Amazing.

You mean the reporter with that, right? He was actually in the last chapter (saying he will write another article on Kurono).
What a horrible ending. "Oh God we will drown and have been here for two da- HEY LOOK ITS THE COAST YAY HAPPY END."

Tae died because she was secretly considering getting breast implants to impress Kurono more. So the girl must die!

Oh yeah, I missed that. I was just glancing through it boredly, so it slipped past me.
I'm also fascinated how they put the vampires for a panel to say " SEE I REMEMBER THEM, I'M SOO GOOOOD!", but yeah, I consider it a given that somebody on the higher part of the food chain told him to finish his piece of shit of a series quick or have it go into eternal hiatus.

I'm inclined to think he was a messenger from the "superior" aliens given he was able to control peoples deaths and even bring down an airplane with his mind. So he probably just went back to them that one last time.
Hey, I reeded most of your posts and I was thinking… Is Gantz really that bad? Well, the draw looks good (for example: http://tobikelly.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/gantz-1553876.jpg) I readed first 10 chapters and looks pretty well. I love how each and every character is very different from the others. Kishimoto has a lot of potential, she is my favourite character by far!
It is true that has an unexpected ending? I hope they live happily ever after
Thanks!
It starts as awesome, and then the quality drops slowly but steadily. At the end it's just horrible and unbearable.
And yeah the ending is like the ones you get in standalone episodes of cartoons.
Yeah I stopped reading at vampires..then i gave it a second chance and had to stop again at something to do with germany. I don't consider any of that a spoiler because none of it makes sense even in the context of the manga.
The concept is actually pretty intriguing and the first couple missions are very entertaining (mainly considering it is all still new if you just started reading), but once the main plot starts coming into fruition, makes you want to cry, and than use your own tears for lubricant.
Oh but the art is actually pretty well done though.
While some of the art does stay on track, he starts to degrade into poorly drawn-over 3d models and an insane amount of ugly crying faces. That and a terrible story from what was once an interesting idea.
Don't get me wrong, I love the over the top models of goofy looking aliens and monsters and robots, and I know it was to save time for what would have ended up being hours upon hours of much harder work, but to me it was too distracting.
agreed with the previous comments…
The beginning adventures were fun and intriguing, but whether it's for the sake of advancing the plot or something else, the story and the gore gets needlessly outrageous. I kinda wished I listened to someone's advice about reading the first half or so, before dumping the rest. This could've been a masterpiece if the artist kept the story a bit simpler, imho.
I want to read this, but what would be a good chapter to drop it, because it sounds like it goes downhill very quickly.
That's basically like asking when's the best time to stop doing meth.

You might as well see this trainwreck through, just for fun.
I'll do meth first then. Hopefully that will give me a better idea.

Do yourself a favour.
Get to chapter 237 and then just stop.
Stop, get out, and never look back.

Nah, once he gets that far and tries to get out, the curiosity of how crappy it will get will pull him back in.
I didn't know they came out with a new Gantz.

I prefer Inuyashiki a lot more than this edgy fest of a series.

Not usually a fan of CG stuff but this actually looks really cool and well done.

I can't stop watching that 2min trailer
The music matched with the action and editing is fantastic
Osaka arc was really fun, can't wait for this visual eyecandy baby.
Ok, so I found something called Gantz:G
Doesn´t really have a lot of chapters, but what can you guys tell me about it?
Is it a sequel? Prequel? A story parallel to the original?

Prequel, but in a different place! Two characters seem to be from the first series, but probably aren't.
