So, here's my Halloween stuff. Kinda embarrassing for me, but if Greg can be a scary woman than I guess this is nothing to be ashamed of. Anyway, it comes with a story:
So Halloween day was a success. Visited the grandparents and family, went around the neighborhood, etc, etc. The following day, however, was a little less successful. So, my wife wanted to go to Disneyland since our costumes are Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and the crocodile. A bit embarrassing for me since it is the day after Halloween, but I can take one for the team. So, we get ready and drive to Disneyland. Turns out, Disneyland is extremely busy today, so we are the last group of cars that get let in, and are then forced to park on the very last isle of the top floor of the parking garage. This, of course, means 30 minutes of traffic until we actually park. Wipes away sweat We made it! Alright, so we get our costumes ready, get out, and head to the elevator. Presses button. Waits. 10 minutes later the doors open up and people come out. Once they clear, we pick up our stuff and walk towards the door only to watch it shut on us before we reach it! What the hell?? Ok… so 10 minutes later it finally opens up again and I dropkick everyone trying to get out to ensure I get inside th--- no, I just blocked the door once they were all out. We got in. THEN! Tram ride takes FOREVER because there are a bazillion people who want to go into the park at 5pm at night, apparently. Blah blah blah we finally get to the bag check near the park entrance, and guess what happens? Anal-Day-Ruining-Employee #001: "Sorry, but no costumes are allowed today for ages over 12." -______-;
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFuuuuuuUUUU!!!
Alright. What to do? So I take off my tail and hat, stuff them in the stroller, and change into some basketball shorts I had with me for some reason. My wife takes off the stalkings and the hat (and belt), and attempts to wear my sweat pants I was wearing (because apparently all green is not allowed either??). Doesn't fit her, so she is forced, to her dismay, to walk around in her volleyball shorts and a too-small t-shirt while I am wearing small basketball shorts and a thermal. Oh, this day, can you get any better? Sure enough! We get in the park, and head for our first ride: Peter Pan!
Yay, our son is the talk of the
townline, getting compliments and glances at every turn. "No!" says fate, "You cannot enjoy yourself!!" So as time passes Haiden gets very upset and impatient and wants Daaaddyyy to hold him. Well, alright, I'd love to. But angry Mr. Haiden is still grumpy and squirms around in Daddy's arms! No biggie, I think. Ohohohohohoohoh….....5 minutes later, we reach the end of the line. As we are about to take our step towards the ride itself... a wet and warm sensation fills my side and begins to trickle down my chest. Sure enough, Haiden's diaper came loose while he had been squirming around, and his little engine that could...did.
So having spent near two hours getting into Disneyland, we head home only 30 minutes into our stay. Dad covered in peepee, baby upset and changed into a new diaper and pajamas. Mom disappointed.
So we got ice cream and called it a day.
PS: My wife changed costumes two days before Halloween, making me the odd man out. As I had no other alternatives, I decided to make my own "Crocodile" costume so I could be the croc that took Hook's hand. I custom made the hat, tail, and clock, and used a thermal and sweat pants I had around the house. Yes, I know it looks dorky. Hahaha.
