@Cyringohn:
If he knocked him unconscious, it'd make it even easier to kill him.
Unless he didn't. Why kill him if he beat him unconscious. Blackbeard's certainly a bad enough guy to do that to others, but I listed reasons for BB to not kill Ace. If he kills Ace, he's opening himself to a direct attack by Whitebeard–and I don't think his crew is strong enough for that yet. But, if he lets Ace live then Ace will just keep lookin for him after he recovers. It's the smartest move for a man who's been bragging about his plans to not kill Ace.
Yeah, or he can be a stupid shit and attack the World Government, who had nothing to do with Ace's death. Or, he can do the easiest and wisest thing by hunting down Blackbeard.
Why are you acting like the WG is so separate from it's shichibukai? Remember, the premise is that BB is taking Ace as an offering to be shichibuki. However, why would they make him one, knowing that Whitebeard will be after him soon? It's like making a dead man–from the WG's eyes--their new shichibukai, and that's a waste of time.
Also, if they accept Ace as an offering, doesn't that mean that the WG is holding Ace's body? Of course Whitebeard would attack the WG if they're holding Ace!
Whitebeard is said to be "a man who'll avenge the death of his crew with the fury of a storm" (or something like that). If he finds that BB has now killed two of his crewmmates, I think he'd get revenge no matter what. And BB, who supposedly has this big plan, might use the WG to protect himself. What if he chooses to live near marine headquarters or something after becoming a shichibukai?
You don't hear about crews declaring war on the World Government because somebody like Mihawk slaughters a crew. You go after the man who did it, not a power he made an alliance with.
If BB becomes a shichibukai for killing ACe, then the WG would probably get involved somehow. Being a shichibukai officially means you're an ally of the WG and I doubt BB would be dumb enough to leave himself defenseless to Whitebeard. Staying close to the WG would be a good way to defend himself.
If they cared enough, they would have told Lafitte to not attack certain pirate crews.
What are you talking about? They barely talked to that guy. They didn't know him well enough to tell him anything.
Why? Ace is more than enough to get him admitted to the role of Shichibukai.
Let me make this clearer, I don't get why you're not getting it.
The WG wouldn't want to take in the man who killed Ace as an ally because they fear Whitebeard, okay? But, since Luffy has a high bounty and isn't known to be related to a powerful pirate, and BB said he was going to capture Luffy several times already, then I think he's going to do that and leave Ace beaten whereever he is.
Whereas BB killing Ace would warrant a direct attack from Whitebeard himself, and the WG taking Ace's dead body as an offering would warrant a direct attack from Whitebeard to them. You wouldn't get mad at the guy who's holding the body of ally or friend?
Sorry if I repeated myself a bit there.
